The war has taken so much from us—our home, our stability, and, most painfully, 25 of our beloved family members. Their absence is an unimaginable void, and every day is a struggle to survive amidst loss and hardship.

I’m an unemployed, chronically underemployed, multiply disabled trans lesbian and an ongoing/lifelong abuse/many time sexual assault survivor. I’ve been struggling incredibly hard to get out of financial dependence on my abusive parents for five years since transitioning. My girlfriend is also disabled, we don’t have a car or much local support, I’m struggling to find or be able to work, and we don’t have enough income to make ends meet. We need to be able to pay $152 for a vet fee coming up for our dog, Ghost, by mid-March, and will probably have additional vet bills we can’t pay coming right after that for an ultrasound and whatever follows to treat his chronic stomach problems and underweight.

We are desperate to get a cheap used car as soon as possible and can’t set aside anything at all without donations. We live in Pittsburgh where the bus system is unreliable and expensive, and the weather tends towards extremes. A car would help me get to work resources, job interviews and my partner to her job, use food banks, pick up free stuff, get our dog to vet appointments, move at the end of our lease, and improve our quality of life in more ways than I can count. If you can spare anything, donations of any amount at all are badly needed and super appreciated right now. This is my uncle, he has been homeless and struggling nearly all his life, and he has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. I created this art as a gift for my friend Diya. This is his son, Magdy and his cat whose story I shared here.

Right now, Diya is separated from his family in Gaza and has been for over a year. His family is facing the second winter since they were displaced from their home. The winters in Gaza are harsh. People are taking shelter in flimsy tents, that don't protect them from the wind and rain. The rain brings with it flooding that destroys everything. Diseases are spreading with no access to proper sanitation and medical care. When they went to receive polio vaccinations, they witnessed an IOF attack on the taxi in front of them.

The last donation was 6 hours ago, and there have only been 4 donations in the 24 hours. We need to help Diya reach his short-term goal of 30% so he can help his family purchase winter supplies that they need to survive. It is already November. There is literally no time to waste.
