I’m an unemployed, chronically underemployed, multiply disabled trans lesbian and an ongoing/lifelong abuse/many time sexual assault survivor. I’ve been struggling incredibly hard to get out of financial dependence on my abusive parents for five years since transitioning. My girlfriend is also disabled, we don’t have a car or much local support, I’m struggling to find or be able to work, and we don’t have enough income to make ends meet. We need to be able to pay $152 for a vet fee coming up for our dog, Ghost, by mid-March, and will probably have additional vet bills we can’t pay coming right after that for an ultrasound and whatever follows to treat his chronic stomach problems and underweight.

We are desperate to get a cheap used car as soon as possible and can’t set aside anything at all without donations. We live in Pittsburgh where the bus system is unreliable and expensive, and the weather tends towards extremes. A car would help me get to work resources, job interviews and my partner to her job, use food banks, pick up free stuff, get our dog to vet appointments, move at the end of our lease, and improve our quality of life in more ways than I can count. I am Fidaa from Gaza. I am 29 years old. I stand before you as a person trying to preserve his family. I am married and a mother of two children, Sila, who is two years old, and a child named Muhammad Amr, 2 months old. I gave birth to him during the war and in very harsh conditions that no human being can bear. I moved from the hospital directly to the tent, and I cannot describe the extent of the suffering and difficulty of living in the tent

We try to live under miserable conditions in tents in Mawasi Khan Yunis, south of Gaza. It is difficult for me to find the words to describe what we face every day in Gaza. No food, no medicine, no clean drinking water, oppression, helplessness, psychological pressures, doubts, and daily trauma due to the loss of loved ones. In Gaza, it's not just hunger, disease and fear; Rather, it means actual death.

We have been forced to move more than 7 times, and my house has been completely destroyed, and I cannot provide enough milk, diapers, medicines, and vitamins for my children.

Now, I find myself in this difficult situation, and I strongly and humbly ask for your help to save the lives of my family, especially my children, by getting us out of Gaza. The situation in Gaza has become unbearable due to slow death as a result of hunger, thirst, displacement, the spread of diseases and continuous bombing.

I was born and raised in Gaza, a place I once called home. Life was simple but beautiful. I remember sitting with my family in the evenings, drinking tea and telling stories. I remember walking through the streets, greeting neighbors, feeling like I belonged. I remember celebrating birthdays, laughing over silly jokes, and dreaming about the future.

But in the blink of an eye, everything changed. My home is gone. My family is not whole anymore. My city is unrecognizable. 💔 The streets that once felt so safe are now filled with emptiness. The laughter has been replaced with silence.

And yet, I hold onto my memories. Because memories remind me of who I am, where I come from, and what truly matters. They remind me that love, family, and connection are stronger than destruction.
