what is mobility & how is it different from flexibility?
mobility is the ability of the joints to move through their full range of motion, while flexibility is the ability of the muscles to temporarily stretch.
why do mobility training?
there are many different benefits of mobility training, including:
increased flexibility
reduced risk of injury
improving joint & muscle health
improving range of motion
improving posture
gaining muscle strength
balance & stability
reducing pain & stiffness in the body
when should i start?
now! there’s a common misconception that you shouldn’t need mobility training until you are in your later years and your mobility starts to decline, but mobility training is useful no matter your age. in fact, the sooner you start, the less mobility & joint problems you will experience as you age.
how often should i train mobility?
mobility training is safe and beneficial to do daily, but ideally, you should try to train mobility at least 5 times per week for at least 5-10 minutes each time.

Roommate!Simon Riley who crawls into your bed late at night when he gets home from deployment.
The apartment is dark, nothing but the hood light on the microwave dimly illuminating the kitchen. He can hear the theme song of your show playing from the hallway. It was something you’d seen a thousand times before, and he knew you’d watch a million times after that. One of his favorite sounds on Earth was hearing the echo of your sweet laughter that came with it. It was the only thing that kept him sane while he was away, knowing he was coming home to you.
He drops his duffle, trudging, begrudgingly, to his room to change and clean up. Oh how’d he’d love to just go right to your arms, but he was disgusting, and he didn’t want to get his sweet’art coated in blood and dirt.
He’d move quickly, barely taking the time to wash his body before he was out and in his boxers.
Immediately, he was standing at your cracked door, eyes flickering to your sleeping frame as the TV light glared harshly around the room.
You were covered in a cocoon of blankets, stuffed animals scattered across the mattress. He loved how everything that surrounded you screamed life. Down to the colors of your pajamas and the books on your nightstand. It was such a drast contrast to what he’d spent the last month being suffocated in. It was his home.
He’d creep in slowly, trying to keep his footsteps quiet as he made the way to your bed. There were clothes on the floor, and he found himself tripping over a few pairs of shoes. A smile crept its way onto his stern features. This was what he’d been waiting for. He’d crawl to your body, pushing past mounds of covers to lay down beside you with a grunt. He’d delicately wrap his arms around your waist, squeezing your skin every so often to remind himself that this was real, that you were here.
You’d stir, hand flying out to push away whatever had grabbed you, but he was quick to ease the anxiety, planting a kiss to the back of your head. “easy now love, it’s just me.”
You’d immediately still at the sound of his voice, relaxing into the warmth of his body. “missed you.” The words are slurred, but they’re there nonetheless. Groggy and hoarse, but yours.
He’d sigh, nuzzling his nose into your hair. The sweet smell of your shampoo makes him breathe a little easier. “missed you too.”
He’d fall asleep like that, passed out against your back. No covers on his body, no clothes. Just you, your show, and the peace finally coming back to him at the feeling of your chest rising and falling.
You were alive. You were here.
That’s all that ever mattered.
can you tell I have an unhealthy obsession with this trope??
october reset starting tomorrow because it’s always better late than not at all :)
seeing my 'failures' as redirections has brought me so much peace about the things I thought I 'missed out on' in life. sometimes, you just don't know what you're being protected from—or what you're being set up for—until you can look back from a new vantage point. all you can do is trust that clarity will come when the time is right. and it will.
husband!simon who refuses to bring his wedding ring on missions, fearing that it will put you in danger if he’s captured. he wears it around base on a chain around his neck, only putting in back on when he’s sure it won’t get dirty. he’s got a dirty job, after all.
refers to you as ‘the missus’ to his team
always checking in to tell you if his plans change or he’s going to be late coming home. johnny teases about him being whipped but secretly enjoys seeing his friend so dedicated
fidgets with his ring during briefings. spins it back and forth on his finger as he listens to price and laswell discussing intel
makes a wood burned plaque that says ‘the rileys’ and hangs it on your porch. sometimes you catch him staring at it, a faraway look in his eyes
always grins when you introduce him as ‘my husband, simon’. rubs his hand up and down your back after you say it as if to say that’s right, love.
got very drunk with johnny and kyle one night while you were away. you received a video of simon slumped on the couch, mumbling nonsense before you could decipher “fuckin’ miss my wife” over the snickering of johnny behind the phone
gets a tattoo of your lipstick mark somewhere on him (be creative here. i dare you)
holds your hips whenever you're speaking to someone he doesn’t know. presses a kiss to the top of your head while he stares at them for good measure
has a photo of the two of you on his desk, one from a 141 gathering that you’d attended at the bar. he stood behind you, his arm slung over your chest in a show of possession. he keeps a much more candid photo of you on him
gets hit on by some of the new recruits (understandably) that don’t know he’s taken yet and just stares at them. if they persist, he hits them with a “not sure you’d like to meet mrs. ghost.”
appreciates when you make him dinner, but really loves when he has the time to make you a nice dinner. likes grilling a lot, but likes having you sit outside and watch him even more
forever entranced by the sight of his ring on your finger. you’ll be talking away to him when he grabs your hand and lifts it to his mouth, pressing a light kiss above where the ring sits before looking back up at you. “continue your story, lovie.”
lets you stitch his balaclava up if the threads come loose. you sneak in a little heart with some red string that sits under the skull, hidden from view. only he feels it sitting on his cheek in place of a kiss
"Have you seen that bigboy with a skullface??"
