Itās FND awareness month so Iāve decided imma talk about my experiences.
So if you donāt know what FND is, itās basically the brain sending messages incorrectly throughout the body. In my case, I have various conditions alongside it. Particularly Epilepsy and Touretteās Syndrome
I started having seizures very abruptly towards the end of 2021, which led to me having my entire life change. I had to drop out of school and I had no clue what to expect for my future.
Iāve had confirmed EEGs and my Touretteās started before anything else. However, it wasnāt long before I developed other neurological issues. This included tremors and dystonia, along with other gait issues that would result in me needing mobility aids. I also learned that not all of my seizures were epileptic in origin. I had PNES, or Psychogenic Nonepileptic Seizures.
Itās been frustrating and rough on my already messy mental health, but Iām still making it day by day. I am trying to finish my high school diploma and do what it takes.
At one point I was practically housebound, and Iāve fortunately had an improved quality of life. However, that doesnāt remove how rough everything is.
Thatās enough for me yapping though. If you have a friend with FND or any chronic illness for that matter, just remember to have patience.
āOh! To inkfish I just go by Tammie. I mainly just travel to gather up what you guys call ājunkā and to perhaps snatch up food. Salmonās gotta eat! Also you guys have cool stickers and itās hard to find themā they laughed a bit. They found it strange that it was so frowned on to take stuff from trash, but she decided it wasnāt a good time to bring it up.
āWhat about you?ā
The salmonid was just about to go out to scavenge for items when she found a building she hadnāt gone by before.
āHuh. Well I did take a different route todayā muttered Tammie.
They inched closer, searching the area for any unwanted items. They couldnāt help but notice the smell of food- and also the scent that a surface dweller lived here.
āWhy would someone live so close to salmonid territory?ā She pandered. The chumās personality got the best of them and they peaked their head inside the window.

Inside the home, the salmonid could see the figure of an inkling working on something - it looked like a weapon, a splatling, though it didn't quite look like one that Tammie would have seen normally, definitely having been modified time and time again.
The inkfish seemed very focused on her work, her mismatched eyes barely moved as she fixed up some wires inside her weapon. Her ears, which were tinged green like the colour of salmon ink, twitched slightly as she leaned forward, adjusting and cutting a coppery wire, then placing the length between two ports in the machinery of the splatling. Her simalarly stained hands weren't shaking, she seemed to be very skilled at what she was doing.
My body is not my own
Yet still, I manage to survive
Through the pain I'm forced to grow
But that one day through it all:
I will finally learn to thrive.
HEY WITCHES WHO HAVE TO HIDE YOUR PRACTICE
HEY
Neat trick: hide spells in origami. Seriously.
I once saw something on reddit where someone said they wrote sigils in their origami. You can even go for writing intentions on the inside. Bonus if you either write in a color associated with the intention or make your paper a color that fits. If you wanted you could even fold an animal or object that fits.
If you really want to go further, you can even put herbs, spices, and/or salt on the inside. Though I do want to say one thing, and thatās you have to pick something to fold that will keep the items inside well.
Here is an origami crane I made for a health spell. Inside I wrote a sigil and put some salt and herbs. Since I canāt go out and get much what I did is just use stuff I had in my spice cabinet.
Works well for anyone! Best part of origami is that you donāt even need special paper. Itās not that hard to cut or fold a sheet into the correct dimensions!
