Maintained duolingo streak
Completed glean training
Contacted supervisor
Song: fearless (taylor's version) - taylor swift
Not a lot of studying this week. Ended up submitting an assignment 2 week early, new module doesn't start for another week and prep materials haven't been released yet, and waiting for my supervisor to get back to me before I can start my phd application. Took advantage to have a break and enjoy some crafts.
₊˚。⋆❆⋆。˚₊ winter term recap ₊˚。⋆❆⋆。˚₊
january - march 2025
with the end of this term, i can officially close the door on the first half of my bachelor's degree. it's taken closer to 3 years than 2 to get to this point, but the finish line is clearer now than it's ever been.
it's been an especially good term for my research aspirations – in january i started on a cell bio project with my adviser, got recruited by my ecology prof in february, and in march was accepted to a summer position in a biochemistry lab. i love my classes, don't get me wrong, but there's nothing quite like lab work for learning how to actually be a scientist.
late night biology cram session (finals ver.) 🧬
got some matcha 🍯🍵
My favourite non-study things this month:
sewing a dress
nature walks
craft night with a friend
reading non-fiction for fun
baked brownies
preparing for the easter egg hunt battle royale
Why is there always one photo that doesn't match the colour pallet lol
Also, using citation software that completely mangles the imported information so you have to do it manually anyway
academic rage is trying to insert a table into microsoft word

first draft of essay
researched phd supervisors
completed assistive tech training
set up zotero
song: john hughes movie by maisie peters
feeling so much better now the first draft is done. it's taken a long time to get the assistive tech i need, but oh my god it's so good. i can't believe i've been working without adhd support this whole time. drafting this essay with the proper support was a breeze after struggling with it and previous essays for weeks. i may even had it in early.
3.28.25 ~
today was significantly less productive than i wanted it to be! i had a morning full of doctors appointments and spent the rest of the day (nearly 7 hours!!) in bed with a debilitating migraine. i didn’t do a single piece of schoolwork, but i did get some reading done :3
the weather was gorgeous though! it was in the mid sixties today and i got to spend a lot of time outside before i started feeling unwell. being chronically ill as a student is rough, but i’m trying to remain positive and focus on the good!

song: what else can i do? from encanto by diane guerrero, stephanie beatriz
i had little to no motivation to do anything last week, but got a lot of my motivation back this week. constantly reminding myself that - especially with adhd - motivation follows action, not the other way around. also had a lovely couple of cafe study sessions with my sibling and my mum.
February 6
It’s been a crazy week! But let us as academics not forget what materially matters. There is no point in gaining an education if our community is at risk. Prioritize resistance as well as education and self care.
friendly reminder that notes do look like a mess 90% of the time and it’s ok!!
