I hope you're right and thanks for the offer for doing my homework but I've already finished Arabic <33
(and red queen? Great, I've wanted to read that so badly!!)
Today was exhausting but atleast we get a 4 day break till Tuesday because of Eid-ul-adha and gosh am i dreading the coming Wednesday, we have so much due then.
I didn't do much today, just completed my business studies assignment. Now, I'm gonna make a list of my assignments and tests due on Wednesday...
Assignments:
Economics (another one, yes T-T)
Computer (the hardest one)
Arabic (kinda easy)
English seminar
Tests:
Economics 2 lessons
English 1 lesson
Homework:
Accounts
Islamic studies (memorizing 1 Ayn of Dhukhan)
Right and I have to do my own studying... looks like it's gonna be toooo productive and my plans of reading a novel just went out the window T-T
When your "I'm only comfortable with people i know" type of person is interpreted as "I'm too good for everyone and everything except those whom i approve of" like, no no no, i really wanna participate in the parties and dancing and your fun activities etc etc but in front of everyone ??? Nah I'll pass. Just let me sit in peace and enjoy the damn event.
๐ Send this to the twelve nicest people you know or who seem to have a good heart and if you get five back you must be pretty awesome. ๐ โจ๐นโจ
Heyy :)
Thank you, really appreciated! Right back at you <3
Today was alright , I guess. I did a decent amount of work and i have 3 tests tomorrow, I only studied for one T-T
Today i :
Completed part 4 in 2 chapters of computers
Revised accounts
Revised part 2 in 4 chapters of economics
When you're studying, most of you will probably focus more on the input. You'll take in loads of information. And i mean loads and loads of information. But do you still wonder, why am I not getting the grades for the amount of input I put in? Like, you study alot only to get mediocre grades?
Well, let me break it down...
Input is important but... output is more important.
Input is absorbing information. Committing it to memory. Remembering facts. It's a mental activity.
Output is how you communicate or display information.
Let's be honest, the teacher correcting your paper doesn't care if you studied the whole year or the whole night. They just care about finishing their task and whether you've answered the questions correctly. So, the way you communicate it is important.
When you study, give more focus on the output. If you're input is "x" amount of effort then your concentration and effort on output should be "2x".
How do you do that?
Well, after studying, spend a good amount of time recalling the information by giving the processed information back. Whether you do it by saying it aloud or writing it down or both. I prefer to say it aloud, write it down and then say it again and again. The main thing is...
What you learnt must be communicated.
It doesn't have to be through teaching. There are multiple ways. Notes. Drawing. Visuals. Mind maps. Audio recordings. Anything that works for you!
Written notes is probably the best because at the end of the day you are going to write the exam, even if you know the whole damn textbook, what you write in your exam is the only thing that counts.
So, here's the secret (which isn't a secret anymore) i use:- When you finish a topic:
Write the key words.
Say it out loud multiple times until you remember them.
Close the notes and recall. Aloud.
Repeat step 2 & 3 about 4-5 times.
Bonus: you can write the points without looking this time.
Basically... Write it. Say it. Recall it. Repeat it.
The first 2 steps are the means of inputs. You're getting information in.
The next three are outputs. You're getting the information out. See the emphasis on how you recall it aloud? It needs your 100% attention for you to remember the points. And when you repeat it, it's literally for you to process it. To let it sink in. You're less likely to forget it sooner too.
Remember. X input needs 2x output.
Whatever the output is. It needs to be multiplied.
Hope this helps! :D
First day of school after Eid holidays and gosh, I'm tired but it was an overall alright day. Postponed the tests they were supposed to keep today (about 3 tests) and kept 2 other suprise tests... I don't think teachers know the meaning of "informing in advance" and "actually following their schedule" T-T
No one even asked for the assignments, I was annoyed because i literally wasted my time doing them and they didn't even ask ://
Anyways, I got done atleast somethings...
Did half of the new economics assignment
Completed Arabic homework
Completed English homework
Economics lecture (YouTube) 50 mins
Discussed computer assignment (we've barely started and we have so much to do)
Tomorrow, we have tests in economics, business studies, a seminar in English and probably my computer teacher's wrath... For some reason, despite starting so early this year, i feel way less confident than last year when i only touched my books during exams... life is so weird... And mid terms start in July (don't ask me how it's mid term already when it's only like the 2nd week of school and they haven't even completed half the portions for it T-T)
Well, no idea how to describe today. Kinda boring and tiring... I'm struggling with English alittle, no it's not the stories or poetry or prose or assignments... It's freaking grammar. I mean, I'm fluent in English, I don't have that many mistakes in it either thankfully but if our teacher teaches us grammar using tabular columns and grammar rule formulae type stuff, I'll obviously struggle because I can't freaking comprehend how you use that in this T-T
Anyways, today I:
Completed English assignment
Did some accounts
Completed 1 lesson in Business Studies
Completed Computer homework
I guess that's it...
~ sound of raindrops falling are wonder to my ears but thunder is music to my soul...~
first and foremost, do as i say not as i do (as in don't post study tips on tumblr when you have seven tests to study for)
make it aesthetic, that's always super motivating. put a playlist in the background like the "you're a princess researching about your mother while trying to overthrow your father" or "solving a mystery in your elite boarding school" or "studying in a library with the ghosts" (look them up they're good god knows i'm too lazy to link them) also mcu soundtracks help me so much!!
pretty notes!!
DRINK WATER (go now fr or i'm going to find you)
something i like to do is keep a big cup of water next to me and force myself to sit and study until it's empty
open windows!!! wind helps me focus personally
pretend you're studying in hogwarts or in the dead poets society or something. imagination is very powerful
snacks!!!!!!
more snacks!!!!!!!!!!
get interested in what you're studying. like fr. stuff we learn in school is amazing af like what do you mean we found out the universe is expanding through red-shift??? ok i know this is very nerdy of me but it's cool af. BE NERDY.
take breaks <3 always
pretend you have a rival you need to destroy (if you have one that's even better, personally me and my rival sometimes study in the same room to motivate each other just by glaring at each other from across the room)(side note: this could also be his method of flirting i will never know)
stand up and walk around every once in a while. for all my figure skating besties -- try to do an off-ice axel in your kitchen. it tends to wake me up because i tend to fall when i try to do a double but whatever that's a me problem.
find somewhere comfortable and wear something comfortable
make a to-do list
SEPARATE SECTION ABOUT TO-DO LISTS BECAUSE I HAVE A WHOLE SYSTEM FOR THIS
first of all you're going to brain dump everything you have to do. every little thing. including walking your dog. everything that has to be done in the next 24 hours.
let's take a sample to do list:
- math quiz
-math homework
-physics presentation
-chemistry test
-french oral
next, you're going to give each of them a score. how do we put scores? well
give it an easiness score from 1 -> 10 (10 being you can do it upside down with your eyes closed)
give it a stress score from -1 -> -10 (-10 being it causes crippling anxiety)
give it a priority score from 1 -> 10 (10 being your teacher will hunt you down if it isn't done in the next hour)
finally, give it in a convenience score from -1 -> -4 (-4 being i don't know where my notebook is my pen is in antartica i have no material to do this atm)
for me it would be something like
- math quiz (5E, -1S, 10P, -2C) 12
-math homework (7E, 0S, 8P, -1C) 14
-physics presentation (6E, -2S, 5P, -2C) 7
-chemistry test (2E, -2S, 10P, 0C) 10
-french oral (10E, -3S, 8P, -1C) 14
then sort everything. do the highest scores first and the lowest scores last (so you get the easy stuff done and get motivated to continue) and there! your to-do list is done in the least painful way possible <3
