So I am almost caught up to the latest chapter of the All's Fair epic Zukka series by @lovelyelbowleech and now I am obsessed and will now share my brainrot through memes, enjoy I guess

Anyway, it's been a thousand years since I showed up here (because last year I was negatively traumatized with avatar by a couple of people), BUT HOWEVER, I share with you this little drawing I made of Zuko and Sokka, because I love them.

"Sokka couldn't understand why Zuko had flipped when he grabbed one of the animals by the neck and declared that they had dinner. The things swam right up! It was insane not to eat them. But apparently they were off the menu. He figured they were a sacred animal to the Fire Nation or something. At least Zuko let them eat some of the eggs, but the Fire Nation was weird."

I like to think even when they escape the island, it takes years for Sokka to learn that turtle-ducks aren't sacred. They were just Zuko's favourite animal 😅 hopefully a strange comment followed by odd looks and Sokka gets educated

aLSO I realised in ‘odysseus’ when telemachus makes his entrance the legendary motif plays but in odysseus’ and penelope’s instrument because he’s their kid.

one of my personal favorite dichotomies in atla is how iroh, once the top strategist and highest-ranking general of the fire nation, now directs all his energy and considerable tactical experience towards attempting to keep his teenage nephew from throwing himself into life-threatening situations AND IROH REGULARLY FAILS TO PREVENT HIM FROM DOING SO.

he lead a six-hundred day siege and now iroh can't keep up with a sixteen-year-old armed with two swords and a passionate deathwish. zuko's motto is "act first, think never" and he's running rings around his uncle. it's like!!! who's gonna come out on top, iroh's west point education vs. zuko's deep and abiding commitment to always choosing the stupidest possible course of action, and zuko manages to win every single time

Image the first thing you ever hear your father say is: "mercy? mercy? my mercy has long since drowned, it died to bring me home" etc

But then after you finish your first father-son-activity (killing the 108 men who personally wronged you) the first thing he ever truly says to you is: "oh my son look how much you've grown, oh my boy sweetest joy I've known" etc

Sorry, but the whole “Hector is wearing Achilles’ own armor, taken from my corpse. It looks, almost, as if Achilles is chasing himself.” part just has me thinking… Who is Achilles truly hunting down on that battlefield? The man who killed Patroclus, or the man who let Patroclus walk into his demise? Who is Achilles trying to punish? Who is he truly trying to kill? Hector or himself?

I know posting vice this year was a bit meagre. not every year is the same but at the end i am kinda happy by the drawings i managed to do this year. compared to last year its funny how sokka got into the spotlight more often this year. and even suki was more prominently featured. zuko watch out who knows if i even draw you next year~

i guess my main goal for next year is to finish wips... like every year. oh my -starts sweating-

My friends got me on EPIC: The Musical, which got me on some Greek mythology, so I’m in a phase now

And today/yesterday I’ve been drawing Apollo and Hermes, inspired by the animatics I’ve seen other artists do for EPIC

They’re very sketch

That’s the first one I did of Apollo, you will notice, for both Apollo and Hermes I draw them very, as my friend said, like twink thirst traps 😭

Added a leg slit(?) in his skirt because he can be sluttier. Him with his lyre/bow ✨

Next I tried Hermes, but the first sketch I did I wasn’t the biggest fan of :/

The only thing I couldn’t get right was the face/helmet. I’ve been not so good at drawing front facing view of faces for some reason lately

The second try with a different ish look came out better

This Hermes is more inspired by EPIC if you couldn’t tell by the sunglasses in his hand and the Dawling ✨ (Troy is so meant to be Hermes. Wouldn’t You Like and Dangerous are my favorite songs in the musicals Istg)

Next I drew both of them together

They’re besties, they gossip, they ate

I did add a hairpin to Apollo, and on it is like, the same charm that Hermes has on his messenger bag, a stone with a wing/feather

Plus another of them yapping

Also gave them friendship necklaces cuz why not lmao

And last but not least I again drew Apollo

Not as proportionate as I’d like but good enough, my creative juices with drying out. I added an arrow tattoo to his thigh because why not (speaking of I love the sun tattoo on his pec)

Anyways that’s been my little drawing craze from the last few hours, maybe when I get my hands on my drawing tablet I can crank out a piece that looks as good as my pencil sketches
