While it is true that INTP can be/seem “lazier” than most J types on a day to day basis, when focused on certain tasks, INTP will often outlast in both the intensity and effort than most J types. When J types come across the INTP in this state of mind, they’re surprised to find this “different” INTP: passionate, intense, and ambitious.
They themselves are generally aware of their energy pattern: sporadic, intense bursts of focus, that disperses once the problem of interest is solved. That may also be a reason why when they are focused, they are so intense; they know that energy level won’t last forever.
If you’re an INTP and you’ve never experienced this state of complete concentration, or you’ve seen lots of internet posts only highlighting how “bored” you always are, know that such is only part of the story: every INTP is deeply and internally passionate. It just doesn’t always translate to the outside most of the time.
