Blobby says I JUST WANTED TO GET MY LUNCH KAREN šš
Fatigue looks at things such as tiredness, drowsiness, exhaustion, weakness, lethargy and memory issues and saysĀ āI can do all that and more!ā.Ā It leaves you feeling utterly trapped in your own body; unable to move, or even think at times. It fluctuates, but is always looming.Ā
While this post is open for all, it is written for those who truly relate to this all-consuming feeling (due to ME/CFS, other chronic illnesses, mental illness, or undiagnosed causes). Not all of these may work for you, but hopefully they inspire something that will.Ā For general low energy witchcraft, check out my Bedridden Witch Series!
As always: witchcraft is to be used in addition to proper medical care, treatment and medication; not as a sole alternative.
If you cannot produce your own, magically created will be just fine!
Crystals.Ā
I tend to use clear quartz for an energy boost, but trust your intuition; if something calls to you, itās for a reason.Ā
Keep it near your bedside table, under your pillow, hold it in your hand or place it on your body where you feel the fatigue most strongly centered.Ā
When on the go, carry it in your pocket or wear as jewelry. If it is larger, carry in a bag and hold it when you need it.Ā
Charge using a charging board or the elements.Ā
Crystals for fatigue
Waters.
Physically touching water brings me energy. I keep jars of snow, rain, storm, river, stream (etc, etc.) water and will dip my fingers in it and mark that parts of my body where the fatigue feels strongest. Be aware of pollutants and do not ingest!
The same method can be done with tap water (or water charged under the sun or moon)
Drink sun water or sun tea (start with drinking safe water and let it absorb the energies of the sun).
Some people find moon water to be energizing (same process as above, just with the moon).Ā

Other elements.
Note what is energizing to you and what is draining to you. Consider: the sun, moon (and itās phases), weather (rain, overcast, snow, storm, wind), cold vs. hot, the earth, fire, air, etc.
Once you find which elements are energizing to you, find ways to incorporate them into your life. Examples: jars of different waters or soils, rocks collected from places, candles, and more.
I usually draw energy up from the earth by placing my palms flat towards the earth by the sides of my body. So if I was lying down, my arms would be at my sides with my palms facing down.
Expose yourself or protect yourself. Iāll use my personal experiences as an example here⦠Rain often energizes me. When it rains, Iāll open my windows, and if Iām able Iāll step outside or collect some water. On the flipside, full moons often drain me. Iāll close my windows and curtains, hang an extra blanket over my bedroom window, use water to paint protective sigils on the window and increase my wards.

Tips and tricks:
I highly recommend preparing things when your energy allows, so itās always ready to go when you need it (and isnāt dependent on current energy levels).Ā
Cleansing: Let other things do your work for you. Open your windows/get fresh air, steam or smoke, sound, etc. Bedridden energy cleansing.
Divination: Use apps when physical movement is hard. One card spreads, shorten your pendulum so you donāt need to lift your arm, divine using the elements, etc. Bedridden divination.
Spells: Make your own spell kits. Spell jars and sachets are also an excellent way to already have the spell prepared, set it up so you can simply shake it to re/activate the spell.
Warding: Create physical ties for your wards that arenāt reliant on consistent upkeep (as a failsafe), and reinforce your other ward layers when you have the energy. I create far more layers than I need so when I am unable to reinforce them, they still protect me.Ā
Worship: Compile prayers and devotions somewhere you can easily find and read them, have a wall altar for easy maintenance, keep offerings simple (a glass of water, for example). Bedridden worship.

People who believe in witchcraft know there are things in this world that science cannot explain. Many witches also believe in the healing power of nature. Because of this, there tends to be a lot of overlap between witchcraft and alternative healing.
Some alternative healing modalities, like herbal supplements, crystals, and essential oils, are incredibly popular with witches because they align so well with a magical worldview. And that can be a beautiful thing. If you find that taking CBD oil or diffusing lavender makes you feel good and gives you a sense of empowerment, then it absolutely has a place in your life.
The problem is that alternative healing (and, by extension, magic as a whole) is often framed as being in competition with conventional medicine. Itās presented as an āeither/orā ā either you believe in doctors and medicine, or you believe in energy healing and herbal supplements. This is not realistic, and it may even put people in danger.
The irony of this is that the first witches were also the first doctors. In Ancient Egypt, doctors would invoke the gods to imbue medicine with healing power, or curse a disease to make it leave a patient ā these approaches were paired with actual medicine. In medieval Europe, witches and cunningfolk were the keepers of medical knowledge and would often serve as healers.
Even today, most pharmaceutical medications are made from naturally occurring ingredients. For example, antibiotics are synthesized from bacteria and fungi. These medications are not less natural than the medicine people used hundreds or thousands of years ago, but they are more refined thanks to modern technology. Rather than trading a natural remedy for an artificial one, youāre often just taking a more effective form of the same substance.
Personally, I like to use magic and alternative remedies to treat symptoms, but use medication to treat the underlying cause of the problem. If I have bronchitis, I might drink echinacea tea and diffuse eucalyptus essential oil, but Iām also going to take a full course of antibiotics to kill the infection.
Likewise, if Iām having a bad mental health day, I might take a bath with lavender or do some energy healing on myself, but Iām also probably going to call my therapist and continue taking my prescribed antidepressants.
Some witches have a lot of resistance to therapy, psychiatric care, and psychoactive medications. Iāve heard every possible argument, from āpsychoactive meds lower your vibration/block your psychic abilities/dull your ability to feel energy!ā to āif you tell a therapist you believe in magic, theyāre going to think youāre crazy!ā These arguments are completely false, plain and simple.
Iām a better witch when Iām in therapy and on my meds, because Iām a better person when Iām in therapy and on my meds. Iām better able to focus, set goals, and be aware of my body, which are all important skills in magic. I have no doubt that if I wasnāt doing what I need to do to keep myself stable, my mental health would suffer for it.
Good therapists know the importance of religion and spirituality, and they will respect your beliefs. No matter what your beliefs, a good faith-affirming therapist or counselor is always a good idea.
Your therapist is not going to think youāre crazy if you tell them you can astral travel, or talk about an experience with a pagan deity. What they will do is let you know if your experiences are outside the realm of healthy spirituality, and give you guidance on how to keep yourself safe if this is the case.
The truth is, whether we want to talk about it or not, not everyone who sees angels or talks to fairies is having a genuine spiritual experiences. As many as 63.3% of delusions in schizophrenia patients are religious in nature. If we are going to encourage people to seek out direct experiences of the spiritual, we also need to inform them on how to recognize when those experiences arenāt healthy or are not grounded in reality.
Psychosis refers to any experience that is not grounded in reality, including hallucinations (false sensory experiences) and delusions (false beliefs). Psychosis is not a mental disorder, but can be a symptom of many different disorders. It can also be an isolated incident in someone who may not usually experience breaks from reality.
Som if someone claims to have been visited by Isis, or Cernunnos, or the Virgin Mary, how do we know if theyāre describing a genuine spiritual experience or a psychotic episode?
First of all, look at context. If someone claims to see angels or to be the reincarnation of a god immediately after taking drugs, after pulling an all-nighter, or while running a high fever (all potential causes of psychosis), they may be disconnected from reality and may need medical attention. On the other hand, if you know this person to be stable, sober, and well adjusted, they may very well be describing a genuine spiritual encounter.
Second, look at the actual experience. Is it consistent with the personās existing beliefs? Is it consistent with experiences other people have had within the same belief system? Is this person clearly able to differentiate between this experience and the āreal world,ā or is the experience taking over their daily life? Answering these questions can help determine whether mental health intervention might be needed.
Finally, as a general rule, if you have an experience that scares you, makes you feel like you are in danger, or makes you feel compelled to hurt yourself or someone else, you should get a second opinion from a trained mental health professional.
As members of the witchcraft community, we have a responsibility to look out for other members of the community ā and that includes being willing to say something if we believe someone genuinely needs medical help. Science and spirituality are not opposed, and they can coexist. Being a witch doesnāt mean rejecting science, and believing in science doesnāt mean rejecting magic. A healthy dose of skepticism goes a long way in keeping your magical practice safe, productive, and empowering.

A lot of talk about cults and manipulative people in the community is focused on an in-person level. Things that an in-person group will do, how their control extends into your offline life, but cult behaviors and mindsets can absolutely be used online and may not be as visible or as obvious. Hereās a small, incomplete checklist of things to watch out for, red flags and the like. (Note: Iām not talking about any specific group or individuals here. None of these on their own make a cult, but a lot of them together can potentially mark a toxic environment at least. This isnāt intended to be a diagnostic tool, just things to analyze and reflect on. Please always be safe and donāt let yourself stay in toxic environments whether they ācountā as a cult or not.)Ā Ā
TheĀ āleaderā can do no wrong. They are not capable of truly making mistakes, or any misstep they do make is quickly explained away or defended by their followers. Any criticism is quickly punished, labeled as problematic, or otherwise shut down. Online, people will often sing the praises of or ālovebombā the leader after these incidents.
Itās Us vs. Them. Anybody who criticizes the group is an enemy. Anybody who chooses not to be a member of the group must have something wrong with them. Critics/people on the outside just donātĀ āget itā like they do. TheĀ āoutsideā may be painted as threatening/the group as a safe haven, and opposing viewpoints should not be given any attention, even to consider them critically. Youāre discouraged from joining other similar groups.
Using social justice lingo as a way to control people. Manipulators can speak the language too. They may bring up gaslighting, gatekeeping, policing, invalidation, and other things and accuse an individual or group in order to either guilt the person into acquiescing or vilify them to the other members. This is a really effective tactic for shutting someone down.
The leader is elevated or enlightened in some way. They claim to be a deity, or at least closer to the divine/enlightenment than you. They have a more effective/direct line of communication with spirits or entities. They have wisdom or knowledge you must stay with them to take part in.Ā
Dictating parts of your online life. Members must change their names, icons, speech/typing patterns, etc. to conform to the group. The rules for behavior in an online setting go beyond what is needed to maintain order. Members may be asked to do a lot toĀ āproveā they deserve to be/stay in the group.Ā
Youāre scared to leave. You canāt imagine your online life without this group. You feel like youĀ need the community/resources it provides you. Youāre worried members will turn against you if you leave. Youāre worried that leaving or voicing concern about the group will have negative repercussions on other platforms.Ā

The Earth naturally radiates negative (oxygen) ions, which are beneficial for your body. Why are negative ions so important? They clean the air and are the key to grounding.
How you can bring this energy into your home:
- For the tech witches, buy a negative ion generator or build one of your own.
- Turn off any unnecessary technology, which create harmful positive ions, and open some windows.
- Plants! Grow them! Hang them everywhere! Not only are you bringing a piece of the Earth in your home, plants help filter the air and make more oxygen.
- Buy a salt lamp! This is the method I have seen the most. Not only are they pretty, Himalayan salt lamps are well known for their cleansing properties.
- Some crystals naturally produce negative ions such as quartz (clear quartz, rose quartz, citrine, amethyst, etc.), tourmaline, and jade.
Now go and invite some good vibes, witches!
I wish you much joy and prosperity!
