Basics of Sea Witchcraft
As we know, many witches specialize in a particular area of the craft, or bond with a particular element, therefore centering their practice around such. Me and others label ourselves as sea witches, and for those in training who feel bonded to the sea, I thought I’d give a little bit of an introduction to such and maybe clear up a few things, too. So, here are five simple clarifications for the sea witch in training!
You don’t have to live near the sea to be a sea witch. This may seem shocking, but I don’t live near any sort of ocean or beach. I’ve only been to one once, and I remember it being one of my most memorable experiences. Being a sea witch only means that you bond to the water and that in its natural element & place, whilst a water witch means that you only bond to water itself.
Intimacy with the Sea. Being intimate with bodies of water is vital to being a sea witch. You don’t have to do anything magical, just forming a connection with the water and its area is very important to your craft, and is a high suggestion from me.
Tools. In full honesty, a lot of my tools come from water areas. I have an entire bowl of seashells, sea salt, and random trinkets to help me. Using such tools makees your craft a lot stronger.
Cleansing. Another vital part of my craft is cleansing regularly. It’s very important to me, and it is for a lot of other sea witches.
Vulnerability. Just like the water, be free and open. If you truly are a sea witch, it will be uncomfortable. You’ll crash into things, but eventually, you’ll find yourself just doing it naturally.
I know that these are vague. But, I really just wanted to give whatever basics I can. If you have any questions, please just ask, I’m always happy to answer!
if ur disabled or chronically ill u know that the tv trope of “doctors will stop at nothing to learn more about a patient’s extremely rare symptoms and find answers” is a crock of shit. all doctors know is gaslight disabled people, ignore ur pain, tell u to exercise, and do the same test 10 times
an apple can be used for a simple house blessing; cut an apple in half, and eat one half in your home. place the other outside, in the backyard or front porch, as an offering to good spirits for protection and warm energy.
bay leaves can be placed in the corners of a room to banish evil from it and protect those within it.
a cactus can be grown near a house to offer strong protection; even stronger protection is gained by planting cacti at all for corners of the home.
planting catnip in the garden, or hanging it above your door, will attract good spirits and good luck.
chamomile can be sprinkled about in the home to break curses and unwanted spells cast on or in the home.
cilantro brings peace and harmony to a home.
clover can be sprinkled around a home to banish unwanted spirits.
garlic can be hung in a home to bring its inhabitants closer together.
ivy plants can be hung to deter unwanted guests.
lavender can be burned and its ashes sprinkled about to cultivate rest and tranquility within the home.
orange peel can be placed in windowsills to bless the house with angel and sun energy.
peppermint can be burned as a smoke cleanser to remove illness and negative energy from a new home.
a sprig of pine can be hung in the home to bless it and its inhabitants.
sachets of saffron can bring happiness to the home.
thyme burned or hung inside brings good health to its residents.
I’ve seen several of these passed around, but they always feel incomplete. I’ve decided to put together my own version. I hope this is helpful.

Did I miss anything?
In all seriousness, though, I think TikTok’s format is going to work better for short tutorials and educational videos, and it allows me to make more video content since it’s less intense than creating a YouTube video.
Anyways, click here to follow me on TikTok for spell tutorials, embroidery, mini book reviews, and probably occasional rants/raves about my Dungeons & Dragons characters. 😅

it can be tempting to live your life like a prequel. to live as if you’re setting up your own story.and once you lose the weight, once you have the money, once you graduate school, once you’re in a real relationship, once, once, once. then finally, you’ll begin to live, and everything you do up until that point is some kind of half-life, some unimportant foreword you can skip. don’t do this. inhabit your life completely. sink fully into the wealth of your existence. the power to manifest is in the fearless owning of who you are, so that you can shape where you’re going.
