To add on to my last post:

When you create something, you do not owe anyone anything. You do not owe perfection, you do not owe your content to even be good! Fuck it- be bad at writing! Be bad at drawing! It’s okay to make imperfect things because the more imperfect things we create the better our skills get over time.

It’s important to be able to take criticism, but it’s also important to not let expectations crush your spirit. It’s so easy to freeze in the face of trying to be “good enough.” And then with that you don’t get anywhere.

Like there’s nothing wrong with making something bad or making something that’s just “okay”. Perfectionism much like comparison is a death sentence for creativity.

It’s such a great way to measure progress. I couldn’t render 3D drawings for shit back in 2021 or 2022. My most recent painting of Yvaren is so lively and warm! And my anime drawings keep improving too! Never ever give up on your passions. Keep trying, keep going! Look with curiosity at other art around you and you’ll accomplish everything you want and go beyond! 💪
