a win for tortured writers and haunted artists everywhere
I was listening to a podcast for some updates on Joost's trial. And one of the hosts asked if the Dutch delegation made a mistake choosing Joost as a representative 'cause there were signs that he wouldn't be able to deal with the pressure of media well enough. He goes on to say that some people say that with Joost's background and mental health stability they should've picked an artist more up to the task (the host disagrees with this).
But I was thinking, what a sad society would we live in if people with trauma or people on the spectrum, wouldn't even be considered to live their dreams because they're deemed "not up to the task". What do these people want? Hush hush don't let people know different people exist?
They should invent a tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow that doesn’t creep in this petty pace from day to day
