huh, i don't know just how unpopular an opinion this is - probably isn't for most of my followers lmao - but yasmin khan is the best companion on doctor who. she's a normal person you could meet in the street, she's not given any special significance through the narrative - who she is makes her special. because she's determined and wants to help, and she does her best, her very human best. every dw companion should strive to be like yaz.
