One time at a con someone saw the pink-and-blue striped suspenders on my Spider-Punk cosplay and asked me if i was trans lmao. I told them “it’s actually in the official character art, but also yes I am”

Being trans is part of the spiderverse fan canon event.

I love this guitar so much, y’all have no idea 😄

That newsprint pattern is a collection of news clippings from American protest history, mostly from the ~1960s to the present day. I really enjoyed putting it all together, it’s like I was making an artistic tribute to the movement. There’s shoutouts to the Freedom Riders, the 2020 Black Lives Matter uprisings, the Gaza solidarity encampments earlier this year, the Weather Underground, and so much more. My personal favorite is the headline from the Stonewall riots along the bottom side of the guitar: “GAYS HIT NY COPS” 🫡🏳️‍🌈

Some of the guitar parts actually work, too! You could flip that switch and spin those tuners. It’s really fun to fidget with when I’m waiting in long lines at cons.

The “stickers” are all accurate to Hobie’s official character art btw!

I’ve been working on an upgraded version of Spider-Punk’s pants, and I’m so happy that I got to debut them at Rhode Island Comic Con this last weekend!
