One can cherry pick facts to prove any point. Nice try.
President Donald Trump’s new tariffs on Chinese products went into effect on Monday. Many Americans are left wondering if they’ll end up paying more for the things they buy. Experts predict that the answer is yes.
That’s because, while free trade generally increases purchasing power, tariffs can reduce it. And although Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross claims price increases will go unnoticed, others expect the impact on consumers to be more significant.
“Things are going to become more expensive because of this added tax,” best-selling author and personal finance expert Chris Hogan tells CNBC Make It. “This has the potential to impact a lot of areas that people need day to day to survive or to run their business.”
The latest round of U.S. tariffs is a 10 percent levy on $200 billion worth of Chinese goods, which is set to rise to 25 percent by the end of the year. That’s on top of the $50 billion worth of tariffs on Chinese goods that went into effect in August.
More Trump derangement syndrome
President Trump has cancelled the upcoming summit between the United States and the North Koreans in a new letter released on Thursday. Mr. Trump writes in the letter that he was “very much looking forward to being there with you. Sadly, based on the tremendous anger and open hostility displayed in your most recent statement, I feel it is inappropriate, at this time, to have this long-planned meeting.”
He also told Kim in the letter, “You talk about your nuclear capabilities, but ours are so massive and powerful that I pray to God they will never have to be used.”
That crow I was going to eat if the talks went all the way got a presidential pardon this morning, and just like the way this glimmer of hope for the Koreas started, a lot of people (South Korea, Japan, China, and a collection of Western reporters who were invited to an (alleged) dismantling of another test site) got caught by surprise by the abrupt cancellation.
So what did we learn today? The same thing as all the other times that the Big Dummy has declared a premature victory. Promises are just words, and you can make words sound like anything. But until the signature is on the paper, nobody’s won.
Stupid Trump derangement syndrome
A friend sent this picture to me, said it was from the Woman’s March in Albany.
This is a combination propaganda and disinformation campaign being waged by Democrat politicians. The derangement borders on psychosis. History will judge them severely...as will voters in November. A red sunami is coming.
Brett Kavanaugh is clearly uncomfortable with this question.
Kamala Harris, former prosecutor and California Attorney General, pushes for a single answer.
It looks like Kavanaugh is hiding something.
