How Can You Misunderstand The Character You Are Adapting That Badly

The problem with Thrawn as a villain in the Ahsoka show is that I ask myself WHERE IS ELI, ARE YOU THINKING ABOUT ELI RIGHT NOW, THRAWN? I'M THINKING ABOUT ELI RIGHT NOW.

And also how are his people? Is Ar’alani safe? Where’s Wutroow? Is Che’ri safe? Are Thalias and Samakro together?

And on top of that why had Thrawn to be evil? Surely because Eli isn’t at his side.

how can you misunderstand a character that badly???!

I need Dave Filoni to be so fucking fr 😮‍💨 Thrawn??? an agent of chaos??? as his defining characteristic???

One of AHSOKA's biggest turn offs is how they've been defining Thrawn in that series. Thrawn was not devoted to the Empire because he believed in the views of the Emperor so wholeheartedly that he'd be doing all this to keep it alive. Mans saw the Empire as a means to an ends for his people's survival. I'm so sick of his characterization being rewritten just to fit whatever Felony's dream scenario necessitates.

Thrawn: *explains his plan*

Ar’alani: Are you Crazy?

Thrawn: No, I am a responsible adult.

Ar’alani: *looks at him*

Thrawn: I am an adult.

Ar’alani: *raises brow*

Ar’alani: *questions her whole life*

We didn’t get to see Thrawn’s reaction to Thrass’ death, but I think he has a lot to process and may be struggling with survivor’s guilt? So here’s a somewhat broken Thrawn when reality hits him.

Also the fact that he chooses to eat his last meal in the Ascendancy at their restaurant

They both worked until well after midnight and fell asleep on top of each other. ｡･:*˚:✧｡

We never got their proper farewell so I drew one. Their friendship means so much to me, and Ar’alani’s question of whether he has it so much better in the Empire is one that gets to me every time. 🫂

Rereading Thrawn Treason and this conversation had me laughing. Thrawn talking about protocols after being exiled for not following them ...
