I’m not missing my chances here…
Update: I’m back… :/
Marking this on my calendar!! 🗓️
Just a reminder that Valentine's Day isn't a secular holiday and that there should never be any expectation to celebrate any non-secular holidays.
Keep non-secular holidays out of popular culture expectations.
(Regardless of how you think about it or celebrate it, Valentine's Day did not have secular origins, making it an inherently non-secular holiday.)
No words can describe how much I want this reboot to be real!!
My fancast for if there's ever a Fiddler On The Roof remake (I don't know if there will be one but I want to make a fancast anyway)
Ok so for Tevye, Jack Black. Is this controversial? Maybe. But he's Jewish and he fits and he can sing.
Ok so for Motel, I want to cast Logan Lerman. He looks soft, he can be awkward if needed, and I just want an excuse to cast him in another Jewish role.
Golde, Tevye's wife, should be Robin Weigert. Do I need to justify my choice? I don't think I do. It's a good choice.
Yente could be Rhea Perlman, she just fits the vibes, idk.
As just the fiddler that symbolically appears in the movie, Timothee Chalamet. He can dance and he isn't actually seen much in the movie so why not. I wouldn't show his face though, just his silhouette as they do for a majority of the original movie anyway. (He can also voice over Miracle of Miracles for Logan Lerman if need be.)
Perchik can be Milo Manheim because you know what, I need that guy in some Jewish roles and why not.
Chava can be played by Odeya Rush, Odeya could be good in that role I think.
Joey King can be Hodel. I have no justification for this other than running out of young Jewish actresses and also she is a good actress when she needs to be.
Swell Ariel Or can be Tzeitel. She was great in Beauty Queen Of Jerusalem and I think that she would fit the role of Tzeitel well.
Tanner Buchanan can be Fyedka because he looks like he could be him, I don't actually know much about this actor sorry.
If you read nothing else on my blog at least read this:
Jewish survival is beautiful, and amazing.
I know times right now are absolutely awful, and it can feel like the world is against us. We're seeing the Nazi marches, the targeting of Jewish businesses, harassment of religious Jews, and so much more at a much more severe rate than many of us have seen within our lifetimes.
But we've survived this before.
The most dangerous thing right now is to lose hope. To lose hope of a better future, to lose hope of any future. We have survived the pogroms, the Holocaust, the Inquisition, the many Middle Eastern anti-Jewish genocides and attacks, various expulsions and so much more.
I've reblogged someone else's post saying this before but I'm going to say it here again: every single Jew alive right now is a miracle.
So here's one thing I want to ask of you: Live.
Do it out of love for your fellow Jews, do it out of spite towards our enemies, do it so that there will be more miracles in the future.
Living is the greatest form of Jewish rebellion.
Living a proud Jewish life is even more so, but at the very least, please live.
Please please please don't give up on life right now. If you feel alone, reach out. Reach out to your fellow Jews, find non-Jewish allies to stand by your side, seek out supportive communities.
As a Jew, you are never truly alone. You have people who will love you like family if you just reach out, because we are one. One family, one nation, one soul. And we all care for each other.
Am Yisrael Chai 💕
Do you have any hobbies you like sharing?
Thank you so much for asking!
I have a couple hobbies that I’d like to share!
First and foremost is my most obvious one: drawing and art. I’ve been developing my skills for around 9 years and it’s been my main tool of expression. I mostly draw people and characters and even make my own OC’s (now that I mention it I really need to post more art stuff on here)
Secondly, I love to cook! Ever since I could remember I’ve been helping out with my mom and family in the kitchen. I give full credit to my mom for this hobby because I found that mixing different ingredients and spices are more of a creative science in a way. Sure I’m not like Gordon Ramsey or anything; I’d consider myself more of a home cook
Finally, I’ve been sort of dipping my toes into writing again. There’s nothing finished just yet, but if I do make anything I’d be more than happy to post it on my blog!
That’s pretty much the main stuff I can think of.
I saw some posters yesterday morning, I feared that this would happen but I’m not surprised…
Sickening!
Yesterday, some of my friends from Chabad went around and put up a bunch of hostage posters.
They put them all around campus, and I didn't even know.
Because already by this morning, the posters were gone. Taken down. By terrorist supporters who somehow find it offensive to spread awareness about people being held hostage.
Who find it offensive that they are forced to look the crimes of Hamas in the eye.
And then a few minutes ago, as we were tabling for Chabad, one of our people came and showed us that he found one of the posters, obviously ripped off.
This is hate. There is no other way to put it, and there is no justification for it.
This is antisemitism.
How are we, Jewish students, supposed to feel safe? Knowing that our peers place so little value on Jewish lives, to the point of ripping down posters of hostages?
I seriously have to redraw this again at some point.
Welp, here’s the final piece:

I’m goin to draw my pfp this time I can’t go on depending on picrews (I mean I did picrews so I wouldn’t have to draw one) but this doodle from yesterday is a great base for a digital profile:
