This is so sweet! What you wrote reminded me of some drawings that I made in 2022 with an old ig account for some headcanons about the outsiders as children, so I decided to add them as a flashback hahaha

(I don't remember if someone asked me for this headcanon or if I created it back then, but I think it's cute how several people agree that Soda tries to cook with all his love but is terribly bad at it)

Incessant rambling incoming!!! But I guess throughout the year, my weird, silly brain plummeted my self-esteem for some reason. With how disastrously long the gap was between each part upload, I was convinced people would've lost their interest or even forgotten about it. I also feel like a lot of people who followed me for the comic specifically are no longer active in the SDV fandom, it has been almost three years since the first post after all. So it came as a pleasant surprise to me that someone still looked forward to it!! This actually gave me the push to start working on it again, so thank you!!! To you and your bsf, this means so much to me!! 😭💛

The most “boys will be boys” things the gang do

• Steve, Soda, Dally, and Darry stay walking around half naked, ESPECIALLY in the summer. Their shirts are never on. Soda’s jeans are unzipped half the time smh

• as much as they really really try, the Curtis boys are known for leaving their dirty laundry everywhere 😟 no matter how messy they can be though, Two-Bit’s room will always be exponentially worse

• one time Steve and Soda wanted to see who could eat the most chocolate cake so they each ate a whole half of a cake and threw up later

• Johnny do not be washing his clothes 😭😭😭 it’s rly not his fault but Darry will offer to wash up some of his stuff with Ponyboy’s and Johnny will be like “no thank you it’s not that bad 🙂” bros jean jacket probably carries the plague

• they literally don’t stop eating. It’s canon that the Curtis brothers all have big appetites, everyone else is just as bad. Most of their money goes to groceries bc they literally just eat and eat

• Ponyboy tries to lay in bed directly after track practice before showering bc he’s tired and Sodapop is appalled

• so so so many wrestling and football injuries. Pony’s always tripping and falling face first. Steve is a fucking pincher when they’re wrestling so Soda and Two-Bit always have little ass bruises on them from him 💀 during football Johnny is really good at slipping between people bc he can be pretty quick but one time he managed to take Steve down with him and they knocked their heads together

• Dally unfortunately enjoys driving around and yelling obscenities when he has Buck’s car. No one is off limits. He’ll trail behind Johnny and be like “ay what that mouth do” and Johnny just lets out the most defeated sigh

• Ponyboy and Curly were each other’s first kiss “for practice” and didn’t rly think much of it until they realized they’d only been kissing each other even tho they didn’t need practice anymore and never tried to get w anyone else 😭😭😭

• if Two-Bit sees any kind of animal worth catching in his mind like an armadillo or some shit he will indeed try to catch it and bring it to the Curtis house and Darry is just like if you don’t get that damn armadillo off my porch

ponyboy with a stutter. terrified that he might have to read something aloud, the socs have a nasty habit of mocking it when they’re beating him up. soda had one, too at one point, but he managed to grow out of his.

johnny with nonverbal autism. it’s not that he can’t speak, he just won’t a lot of the time. he’s spent his whole life being screamed at to shut up, to be quiet and obedient. he hasn’t lived with his parents for a while, but some scars are too deep to ever heal all the way.

soda with adhd. knee always bouncing, music always playing to keep his brain appropriately engaged. he’s never been able to sleep, he normally stays awake after pony wakes up from a nightmare just thinking. everyone always calls him the one that can’t stop talking, sometimes he wishes he could just so they’d leave him alone about it.

darry with apd. he hates watching tv because he knows he’ll never be able to figure out what’s happening. he wants to scream every now and then when he thinks of how easy it is for his brothers to just talk. johnny and him like to look through the sign language dictionary and learn the alphabet, they teach the rest of the gang.

dally with ocd. he can only have eleven cigarettes a day, no more, no less. he looks over his shoulder every single second bc he has all the paranoia in the free world. he almost had a panic attack when pony and johnny came to buck’s and messed up how he kept his room.

two-bit with an addictive personality. he’s always been that way, but it started when he was little and really liked tv shows. he cares so much, he cares too much. as he got older, he started smoking, started drinking, and he could never stop. not even if he wanted to, not even if he tried.

steve with insomnia. permanent shadows under his eyes. he’s always irritable when he’s particularly tired, but he’s never had it in him to take it out on soda. he stays out in the lot mostly bc he hates the feeling of being in his house, but he doesn’t sleep any better out there.
