Oh, I posted two identical photos, sorry
Henry for the first time in several years: *seriously calls Vito by his full name*
Vito, wary: - Did I make a mistake somewhere...?
My little fanon thoughts about Vito and Henry.
Vito reacts calmly to the sounds of gunfire, but reacts with hostility and nervousness to sounds similar to loud explosions (reminds him of events at the front).
Henry has something of the same painful memory - the colognes his dead wife.
Vito is a dog person (no wonder, since he has posters of dogs hanging in his childhood room). And Henry is a cat person.
These two, when they get together to drink (just them, no one else) drink a little and spend most of the time talking and can afford to sit in silence.
Vito once gave his cross to Henry, because he himself could not identify with religion after losing his family, and Henry still remained a believer. Henry considered carrying the cross with him as a symbol of good luck.
Vito often smells like coffee and cigarettes, while Henry smells like expensive cologne, but with a slight hint of cigarette smoke.
Henry knows what kind of coffee Vito drinks and therefore, when he makes an appointment with him early in the morning somewhere in a restaurant, he always orders him coffee in advance.
Henry still feels guilty about Vito being in prison.
Henry, unlike Joe, who jokingly scolds Vito for careless driving, makes comments more often and more seriously, but not in a way that upsets or offends (and not everyone wants to die on the road because of a driver flying through a red light).
Henry learns about Vito's PTSD (which most often manifests as panic and a withdrawn, short-tempered mood for the rest of the day due to loud explosions threatening his life) from Joe after the mission to assassinate Clemente at the hotel, but Henry never asks Vito directly out of respect.
They both treat women very well. With respect and due politeness, always ready to stand up for and help.
They remembered each other's favorite cigarettes.
I'm sure they needed that light-hearted conversation.
(The sketch is a fan fiction and has no relation to canon)
The inspiration for the song was: "As the World Caves in" - Matt Maltese.
Sitting in a spacious and comfortably furnished living room, the two men drank whiskey and generally had a quiet time. They couldn't afford such a vacation for a very long time.
- Anyway, Henry, how did you learn English? Then you still haven't answered my question - Vito smiled weakly, but at the same time sincerely enough.
- Curiosity can drive you to the grave, you know? - Henry retorts, taking a sip of whiskey from a faceted glass. He exhales softly before answering the question: - My father invited a teacher home to personally study English with me. So, it seems, it happened. This teacher told me all about America, about Empire Bay, that he once lived here and dreamed of starting a family again...
- Why "again"?
- I asked him then. But he didn't say anything, just smiled at me and patted me on the head, asking me to continue studying. But then I found out from my father about what happened, it turned out that his wife and son were brutally murdered for not paying off their debts on time.
Vito nodded his head sadly. He was familiar with this situation, even if not to such a terrifying extent.
- Sometimes I think back to this story and fully understand why you, Vito, were so eager to grab all the cases just to earn more.
A silence hung over them, steeped in either awkwardness or grief for this teacher.
Henry decides to break this silence with the following words:
- i take it you learned English while attending school here? - He asked for the sake of decency and to defuse the situation.
- Oh, how do you know that?
- Joe, the day before you arrived from the front, got wildly drunk. And as you know, drunk Joe will tell you everything that bothers him, and that it is precisely because of this that he should not reveal particularly important secrets. He will blurt them out and will not blush with conscience. That day, he sat and sang about what a good friend and comrade he had. I thought at the time that he was exaggerating. Well, I take it back with a clear conscience - Henry laughs softly, velvety, remembering all this with a pleasant nostalgia that warms his heart.
FRONT VIEW, GUYS
I can't stop laughing at the second photo.
I'm not crying, I'm not crying, I'm not crying....
Oh my god, I'm crying.
Oh, shit.
My imagination gave me the idea of Simi and their evening gatherings. They watch movies or discuss past races (this happens less often than watching movies and TV series) and they almost never finish watching because Kimi falls asleep halfway through and Sebastian is forced to turn off the TV so as not to disturb Kimi's sleep, who is comfortably settled on his shoulder. He covers himself with a blanket and watches Kimi's peaceful face for a few more seconds. (Seb never complained that they didn't finish what they started)
(and I seriously think that Seb would be one of the few people who would know the first places to look for Kimi if he suddenly wanted to sleep between races)
p.s. honestly, I still laugh at the photo where Kimi fell asleep under the table surrounded by jackets and helmets. I understand him.
just wanted to say that i really love your vibe :))
🥺🩷 THANK YOU. I'm glad to hear that. 🫶
I think if Vito and Henry had known each other during the return of the former from the war, Henry would have been able to catch the moment when, due to a loud sound (fireworks or explosion), Vito shrinks and frantically searches for the source of the sound and does not even answer questions, as if being in a state of complete defense. And then Henry realizes how much the war has affected this man, and thanks his father in his thoughts, who sent him away during the war.
(Maybe later I’ll make a short story based on this sketch)
