His heart overflows with a kindness of which this world is not worthy of.
Marwan and Luca in Trieste ❤
I miss them 🥲
on the subject of crusades-era nicky i was thinking the other day abt how nicky is a character defined by his kindness; both by the cast & crew and by joe himself, but when nicky talks briefly about his life pre-joe, he defines it using the word ‘hate’. ‘the love of my life was of the people id been taught to hate’.
and i kind of love that entire concept of ‘most noteworthy and best character trait being brought out by meeting significant other’. its great, i love it so much.
& with joe, i mean, hes a character defined by love. marwan has said multiple times that the van speech is ‘the heart of joe’s character’ and nicky himself calls joe a romantic in the same scene joe calls nicky kind.
so applying the same idea to joe, i kind of love the idea of joe being a romance skeptic before he met nicky, just not really believing in love that much or being a bit of a pessimist, and then he meets this funky italian dude and hes just like ‘huh maybe love IS real’
nicky, eyeballing joe's sleeves:
