❝When I am grown up I shall carry a notebook–a fat book with many pages, methodically lettered. I shall enter my phrases.❞
— Virginia Woolf, The Waves
Virginia Woolf, mid-twentieth century:
❝[L]et us take down one of those old notebooks which we have all, at one time or another, had a passion for beginning.
Most of the pages are blank, it is true; but at the beginning we shall find a certain number very beautifully covered with a strikingly legible hand-writing. Here we have written down the names of great writers in their order of merit; here we have copied out fine passages from the classics; here are lists of books to be read; and here, most interesting of all, lists of books that have actually been read, as the reader testifes with some youthful vanity by a dash of red ink.❞
— Virginia Woolf, "Hours in a Library". Granite and Rainbow: Essays by Virginia Woolf (New York: Harcourt, Brace and Co., 1958),p.25.
I am not a person who follows any particular religion or form of spirituality, though I do study mythologies of all kinds. Paganism is something I'm highly fond of. Which is why it's so satisfying to see how Loki's mere presence in discussion creates such chaotic upheaval and passionate argument, regardless of which version (popular fiction, modern pagan, or mythology) is being discussed. It's the closest thing I've seen to proof that a god exists and is extremely pleased with himself.
Ragnarok (Netflix): Laurits "Loki" Seier flirts with men, dresses in gender non-conforming clothes, says he looks like a pretty lady, wears makeup and paints his nails, asks teacher if he thinks Loki is trans, gives birth to the Midgard Serpent, and tells his mom that he doesn't believe in sexuality and gender.
Marvel Loki Miniseries: We made Loki write "fluid" on the sex/gender line of this paper he had to fill out that you probably didn't notice. You're welcome :)

You know what's weird, i actually liked Loki's shoes at the end of the series (even though people are making fun of it), he isn't wearing typical modern clothes. If anything he's not even modern. He's not going to be sitting on a throne in Yggdrasil with nice fucking shoes. He's a Norse God, and well...the shoes fit his appearance. Looks kind of comfy while he stays there for however long. Lol.
