"Welcome Welcome! Find a place. Sit or Stand. Be right with!" Oil called, her voice loud and clear over the jazz music floating through The Last Drop. Hearing the door open all the same.
Just filling in for her bartender. Pretending she didn't know a "headache" was just code for "hungover" She was the Boss. She had Standards Barely
She was currently crouched behind the bar, fighting with a box that had managed to wedge itself under the sink. Impressive 10 minutes ago. Frustration inducing now.
With an annoyed mutter, she pushed up and back. Blinking to adjust to the midmorning sun that streamed in through the windows. Oh and the skylight.
Ma's idea. She hated it. Didn't have the money yet to fix it A Shame
Eyes flicked over to the greeted guest, an easy smile appearing on her face as she leaned against the bar. Head propped up by a hand.
"What's brought you to the only place you'll get a drink from before noon my friend?"
She was fine right? Right? Yeah totally fine Totally Fine
Nothing to be concerned about, just a girl wandering up and down some dock area, muttering to herself.
Totally fine.
Oil groaned loudly, stopping in place as her head fell back to stare up. At the smoggy sky.
She was really missing the stars.
Her folly-as she had so lovingly named it- sat in pieces in her bag. Which was in eyeview propped up against some crates. Unzipped with her blue hoodie half-hanging out of it. She was keeping an close eye. Didn't want anyone running off with her stuff.
She'd spent the day wandering about, trying to find somewhere familiar in a sea of buildings and people that she simply didn't know. A junk shop in place of the jewellry store, a broken and smashed storefront where she knew to be a resturant.
And of course, she just happened to fling herself back to when her usual haunt just happened to be a functioning factory! So she couldn't even kid herself into believing this was all a bad dream.
"Should have listened. Didn't. Bloody stupid girl" she cursed, a fisted hand slamming into her thigh in annoyance, the pain a relief for the moment before her emotions became a messed up clump again.
A noise caught her attention and she gave her attention in the direction it came from, her eyes starting to change into a bright shimmer purple as her heart began to pound.
Gun hidden under her shirt, back holster.
She narrowed her eyes and cleared her throat
"If you are gonna be a creep. May as well own it!"
(I've updated Oil's bio with a small appreance description, mostly for my own benefit so i have everything in one spot lmao but still~
It does use Jinx as a reference as thats what i'm currently doing, trying to figure out what stubborn lil things would have stuck after a couple of generations and which didn't.
Her mother's genes did a throw back to Ekko and her father irl's comparison would be Italian. I have lots to pull from)

❝ i saw then how i had changed. ❞ ❝ name one hero who was happy — you can’t. ❞ ❝ i feel like i could eat the world raw. ❞ ❝ you are half my soul, as the poets say. ❞ ❝ i have no need to forgive you. you cannot offend me. ❞ ❝ i do not fear ridicule. i never have. ❞ ❝ you have always trusted so easily; you have had so little in your life to fear or suspect. ❞ ❝ do you hear me? please, say something. ❞ ❝ your face is like quicksilver, always racing to something new. you unsettle me. ❞ ❝ you do not give things up so easily now as you once did. ❞ ❝ now i know how to make you follow me everywhere. ❞ ❝ i would know your face in dark or disguise. i would know it even in madness. ❞ ❝ there is no law that gods must be fair. ❞ ❝ i have never seen anyone fight the way you do. ❞ ❝ our dead come for their vengeance regardless of witnesses. ❞ ❝ the sorrow was so large it threatened to tear through my skin. ❞ ❝ when you die, all things soft and beautiful and bright would be buried with you. ❞ ❝ you were always better with words than i. ❞ ❝ i will never leave you. it will be this, always, for as long as you will let me. ❞ ❝ you smile, and your face is like the sun. ❞ ❝ i thought you were — something. you do not — you do not move like a human. ❞ ❝ do you want to walk up to the woods? ❞ ❝ my mind is filled with cataclysm and apocalypse: i wish for earthquakes, eruptions, flood. only that seems large enough to hold all of my rage and grief. ❞ ❝ i will not cry in front of you. ❞ ❝ listen to me. you go too far in this. i will not be able to protect you. ❞ ❝ there is no honor in betraying your friends. ❞ ❝ i’m afraid I have been prompted by a rare stirring of guilt. ❞ ❝ i promised myself that if i ever saw you again, i would keep my thoughts behind my eyes. ❞ ❝ i did not want you to see my fear, though normally we kept nothing from each other. ❞ ❝ gods and mortals never mix happily in our stories. ❞ ❝ you will be dead soon enough. ❞ ❝ you are destroying yourself. you will not be loved for this, you will be hated, and cursed. ❞ ❝ you left yourself today. and now you are returned. ❞ ❝ you are a better person than i. ❞ ❝ whatever you do, i shall stand with you, as i always have. ❞ ❝ you have looked at me a thousand thousand times, but there is something different in this gaze, an intensity i do not know. ❞ ❝ my life is my reputation. it is all i have. ❞ ❝ may i give you some advice? if you are truly his friend, you will help him leave this soft heart behind. ❞ ❝ what are you thinking about? ❞ ❝ even the boldest of people would whisper a prayer if they brushed against me. ❞ ❝ the keen edge of my envy was like flint, a spark away from fire. ❞ ❝ do you think we fight hopeless wars? ❞ ❝ it is strange, that you would speak against betrayal. ❞ ❝ if every soldier killed only those who’d personally offended him, we’d have no wars at all. ❞ ❝ no one has ever tried to take something from me. ❞ ❝ stay behind me. ❞ ❝ will you help me put the rest of my armor on? ❞ ❝ your face is blank and barren, like another language, impenetrable. ❞ ❝ i am here because i believe that we will win. i am staying until the end. ❞ ❝ your presence is like a stone in my shoe, impossible to ignore. ❞ ❝ he is not worthy of you. he never has been. ❞ ❝ will you tell me who hurt you? ❞ ❝ it is like a nightmare; i expect, each moment, to wake to relief. but there is no waking. ❞ ❝ i do not need to prove myself to you. to any of you. ❞ ❝ you have always thought too much of yourself. ❞ ❝ some men gain glory after they die, while others fade. ❞ ❝ even here, behind the darkness of my eyelids, i cannot name the thing i hope for. ❞ ❝ our joy is so bright we can see nothing else but the other. ❞ ❝ you have a tender heart. an admirable quality, surely. ❞ ❝ you are spring, golden and bright. envious death would drink your blood, and grow young again. ❞ ❝ i will not be the raven on your shoulder all the time, predicting gloom. ❞ ❝ you look different in sleep, beautiful but cold as moonlight. ❞ ❝ when there is greed, there is hope. ❞ ❝ i could have told you more, of the dreams that leave me bleary and bloodshot, the almost-screams that scrape my throat as i swallow them down. ❞ ❝ you are angry, and not without reason. ❞ ❝ you feel mislead; you were promised victory. ❞ ❝ you know, it’s funny; i keep thinking i’ve seen you before. ❞

To say Oil was surprised by the physical appearence of this person would be an understatement, she had not been expecting a yordle. Why? She wasn't sure.
Yordles tended to be okay Safe Right?
The apology did seem to calm her slightly as she gave a small nod, her eyes halting their glow, dimming back to blue.
"You and yours do tend to be excellent at sneaking" She agreed, arms crossing loosely over her chest. Even accidentally it would seem. The way he-she was assuming it was a he- spoke reminded her of her cousin, well-spoken. It helped put her at ease. At his question, she swallowed heavily "Is. . .is it that obvious?"
She was fine right? Right? Yeah totally fine Totally Fine

Alright maybe using a new piece of tech immedately hadn't been the best idea she'd ever thought of. Oil had just gotten so excited and a bit in her own head, needing to know if it worked and well. . .
Staring at the unfamiliar scenery-and boy was it strange to her-it clearly had. Too well maybe
With a small click noise, the small machine in her hands died. A few connecting pieces and power cable disconnecting.
Luckily copper coloured items were easy enough to spot and she stuffed it and its bits into her backpack, counting her blessings that she hadn't taken the damn thing off. Too excited about the last piece she'd traded for.
Peering out of the alleyway, she gave a quick look left, then right, then left again. Deciding right was as good a direction as any and heading off that way, eyes darting about for somewhere she could sit and think. A bar maybe?
Stupid idiot, getting lost in a new place Sent herself somewhere Stupid stupid
Oil wouldn't count herself as religious in any capacity. She's respectful but turns any attempt to convert her down as gently as she can. Skipping invites to gathering. Bowing her head if she's staying for a meal somewhere where they say a prayer or dump a part of their meal into the flames for their respective deities.
Superstitious however? All too much so
She'll knock on the side of a broken doorway in a ruin to announce herself before exploring.
Back before more of the mining entarances in Zaun were properly monitered, she used to wander through the old tunnels as a child. Hardhat on her head, light on to guide her way and a small carved figure of Janna clutched tightly in her little hand.
She has horseshoes above her outer doors, small bells hanging and salt along the bottom of the windows into the main street. She'll knock on wood to avoid speaking ill into the world, switching to knocking gently on the side of her head if no wooden item is around.
She is incredably superstitious
