Commission info here: Carrd
I don't like to talk politics on here but this is VERY important.
As much as I disagree with many decisions made by the current administration, we all have to acknowledge the positive changes and policies put into place in the past few years. You can look at this post right here for a list of beneficial things the Biden administration has done (with sources). I won't deny that there are still problems, and it really is a situation of choosing the lesser of two evils, but I have enough common sense to know the alternative is so SO much worse.
For those unaware, Project 2025 seeks to dismantle and destroy much of what makes America the country it is, as well as making it MUCH more difficult to live freely and safely.
A few highlights of "Project 2025" from Wikipedia:
Downsizing the EPA and abolishing NOAA, reversing progress made towards reducing greenhouse gas emissions and preventing climate change
Repealing the Inflation Reduction Act
Making the transition to renewable energy more difficult, expanding the use and production of fossil fuels, and removing limitations set upon the oil industry
Tax cuts for companies and the rich (who saw this coming?)
Tax cuts which would increase the national deficit by $4 trillion by 2028 (source)
Making it harder to increase taxes for corporations
Stricter requirements for those who rely on food stamps
Eliminating free school meals and the Head Start program
Granting more power for the president to oversee and directly control the DOJ, the FBI, the FCC, the FTC, and many others
Prioritizing the production of nuclear weapons, possibly starting another nuclear arms race
Prohibiting Medicare from negotiating drug prices and cutting funding to Medicare as a whole
Denying gender-affirming care to transgender people
Ending same-sex marriage
Higher fees for asylum seekers, purely for monetary gain
Plans to "begin the largest domestic deportation operation in American history"
Removing protections against racial discrimination
Basically making it impossible to have an abortion
Defunding Planned Parenthood
Cutting funding for public transit
Curtailing the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law of 2021
No matter what, we all have to do our part to prevent this outcome from happening.
Please spread the word, and for people like me who don't like to get involved in politics: show them this post. Vote if you are able and tell your friends and family to do so as well, not just in the presidential elections.
I know who I'm voting for.
I'm seeing a lot of the same arguments and thoughts about this election as we had in 2016. I don't want to see that repeated. Neither do you. So we have to come together and vote in record numbers. We defeated MAGA once. We have to do it again.
Day 12 of repostober! 🐇👗
felt like drawing my two gay rabbits
reasons to apply peanut butter before jelly when making pb&j:
if jelly gets in the peanut butter jar there’s a chance it can spoil after too long since jelly doesn’t (usually) have preservatives, but a bit of peanut butter in the jelly jar won’t matter when it’s in the fridge
it’s easier to spread pb without the knife coated in jelly, it’s less likely to get away from you especially at the edges of the bread
jelly doesn’t blend well with pb and globs of it can slide off the bread when you least expect it
peanut butter being spread over jelly looks cool to me
reasons to apply jelly before peanut butter:
someone in your household likes jelly but has a peanut allergy
you use jelly more often than peanut butter for things other than pb&j
you’re stupid and an idiot and a fool and probably eat cardboard
Day 21 of repostober! 🐇💌🐇
