Frost
Frost is going through a teenage rebellion of some kind. Yes, she's a bit old for one, but hey every person in their early 20's has a right to be immature. She feels a bit confused, dismissed and disrespected.
Kuai Liang was always her father figure, so Frost internalised and took the Shirai Ryu rivalry very seriously. So when Kuai Liang started making peace with Hanzo she didn't take it very well.
Frost has a wrapped sense of justice and logic thanks to her childhood, considering she killed her own mother. Before becoming a part of the Lin Kuei she lived in a bad environment. (If her mother is truly like Sindel we can only imagine and guess what that was like).
Rain flirts with her all the time, and he is genuinely interested in her. (Can we get her a boyfriend?)
Her acting out is her way of getting everyone's attention, and she believes it's a great way of proving herself.
Mileena
Mileena is desperate for a relationship with Kitana, so she's willing to be an antagonist so long as it means having her attention, but there's still resentment. Even with that resentment Mileena is somewhat caring and protective of her, judging on how she doesn't want Kitana and Liu Kang to marry.
She wants love, and lots of it. She thinks that by having the throne she will be given that love, since Shao Kahn was given it.
Mileena and Frost can become friends.
If things were different, her and Skarlet would get along well.
(Skarlet should've been the Jade to Mileena's Kitana. Why Netherrealm Studios? Why?)
Skarlet
Even though it was Shao Kahn that introduced her to bloodmagic, it was Shang Tsung that taught her how to cope with it. (Since he created her in the flesh pits before her backstory was retconned)
Skarlet experienced racism and classism during her early stay with Shao Kahn, and she longed for Kitana and Jade's respect. Due to their shunning she holds a harsh bitterness towards them.
Based on Rain's intro she is partially Edenian, but is mostly Outworld-ian.
Mileena and Skarlet would never admit it, but they both have a bit of a sibling bond with each other. But it's one of actual rivalry thanks to their narcissistic parental figures. Her infatuation with Shao Kahn is a sign that bloodmagic is slowly and surely leading to her insanity, before she did not view him in that way.
Erron Black is the only person she's had a relationship with. Ever since Erron she hasn't been in a relationship due to the fear of being hurt again, but she has been getting a certain Shaolin's eye on her. (I think Kung Lao was genuinely flattered when he said "We hardly know each other.")
Shang Tsung
He does feel some kind of care for Mileena, but in the end she is like a dish to be proud of and served instead of growing a bond with.
He gets a bit prideful from her accomplishments, though.
"Mileena would never do that thereafter. Mileena did you do that thereafter?"
When Skarlet was much younger she used to follow him around just to see how well he would perform magic in order to improve her own skill.
Noob Saibot
Noob/Bi Han takes a lot of things people say literally. Because of this he is the least antagonistic towards Johnny Cage.
His soul is enslaved so a lot of what he does is not the actual Bi Han, but he is sometimes able to break out of it to deliver a few lines.
He has mistakenly gotten into a few debates with Shang Tsung about the use of dark magic vs soul magic.
Kitana and Jade
Very classist and a bit racist, on Jade's part.
Were mean to Skarlet during their upbringing and intentionally isolated themselves from her.
As much as Kitana doesn't want to admit it, she is much like Shao Kahn.
Kitana is 17-19 in human years. Jade is 21-23.
(I like Kitana and Jade but there's things about them that I don't like)
I have a broken sense of humour, so forgive me. But the fact that VICTOR CREED not only fathered a non-mutant child, but also that same non-mutant child became a politician, suit and all. Sabretooth, a man where the word 'Barbarian' comes to mind, fathered a political figure. Granted, Graydon is as much a monster as Mr Creed senior, but the vision is everything.
Can you imagine the shenanigans?
Graydon being forced to go back on his words about his anti mutant propaganda, and talk about how they're not so bad because a list of nice things they done for him in order to avoid getting a spanking.
Graydon opening up about his mutant background, and how his anti mutant propaganda came from hating himself and his mommy issues, and how he learned that doesn't mean other mutants are the same, and using that to advocate for mutant acceptance.
Graydon getting some kind of promotion, and a party being hosted to celebrate it. Then Sabretooth crashes it, gets drunk and starts embarrassing Graydon in front of all his co-workers and fellow politicians. Saying stuff like "Just to think all those decades ago you was in my balls!"
His co-workers recognising that Graydon's cat-like habits come from Sabretooth. Standoffish with people he's just met. Hissing or growling when annoyed. Disturbing people, but not liking when others bother him. Having no concern for other people's belongings. His co-workers noticing how he avoids people when he's stressed, just like a cat.
Getting asked awkward questions at interviews like "Do laser pointers bother you?" and "Do you eat lots of fish?". Graydon trying his best to stay professional and not lose his cool.
Graydon being forced to stand next to Sabretooth, and everyone pointing out how small he looks in comparison despite being very tall, because Victor is HUGE.
Graydon being forced to acknowledge his other siblings from Mystique's side, and coming to the realisation that Logan is his uncle.
Graydon trying to force Victor and Logan to form a momentary truce just so they can take a good picture for the front page of a news paper (for mutant positivity reasons). Many fights ensue, and it takes over 60 attempts until a picture is taken where Victor is holding up a struggling Logan with a grin prepared to throw him, and the headline being "Sabretooth excited to reunite with little brother" or something.
Graydon meeting with Professor X to discuss the needs of mutants, and bumping into his cousin Laura, who hasn't forgiven him for his anti mutant days.
Professor X helping him with his inner trauma, and unpacking the trauma Mystique put him through, and the shame he felt knowing his parents were bad people, and being normal as the only thing he can cling to in efforts to avoid believing he's like them. How Graydon wants a family deep down, and actively hunted mutants to get attention from one or both his parents. How Graydon always wanted acceptance, and being abandoned caused a dilemma within him that lasted decades.
Graydon being forced to spend his holiday in Canada, and staying indoors at a cabin while Victor gathers firewood because he can't handle the snow.
Being forced to embrace his Canadian heritage.
Mileena: Shang Tsung wait! I didn't mean for that to happen!
Shang Tsung: Find out that everyone hates me? I don't care.
Mileena: Shang Tsung, please! Shang Tsung Stop!
Shang Tsung: No! Do you know what everyone says about you? They say you're a home schooled jungle freak who's a less hot version of me!
Context: I don't know. Mileena's been giving credit to Shao Kahn more than necessary.
So I was reading some young Snape leaves Hogwarts stories and came up with this character. I know it's cringe and kind of predictable, but I think it's interesting. I'll never forgive the first 3 seasons of Winx Club for not giving us actual dark fairies, that would've been interesting. We've seen fairies capable of evil yet they would have to transform into a witch to use dark magic, and the closest we've gone is Mitzi and the Wizard of the dark circle. I haven't watched anything after season 4, so I won't be writing about that.
Name: Rowana Micblair
Age: 16+
Likes: chocolate, being with her friends, reading, doing potions, practising spells, telling jokes
Dislikes: being made fun of, hurting people, not understanding something
Type of fairy: Darkness. But she can do light magic so I don't know, growth and healing? Chemistry? Acceptance? Welcome?
Quotes: "I've never been good at flying on brooms, so magic decided to give me wings."
Love interest: Thran (is a student at Red Fountain and has Elven genetics)
Pixie: Estelle (a time pixie that teaches her to be more open and forgiving, but also guides her on the importance of time)
Planet: Some random name. Everyone can use magic with the help of a wand, make potions and fly with a broom. There's backwards technology, old music, and everyone wears robes and outdated clothing. Everything is HP based, even the spells. There's light and dark mages, and everyone mostly lives in harmony.
Origin: Rowana Micblair is the result of a light witch and a dark wizard falling in love, and this made her family outcasts due to how unusual it is on their planet.
Rowana struggled to make friends growing up because of her parents reputation in the place she lived in. Not to mention she was considered unattractive to anyone outside her family. They also moved houses often, so that made it hard for her to grow attached to people anyways. They stopped moving around when she was 12, and at her new school she was able to only make one friend, but she was bullied often by light and dark mages alike. They were friends for their own reasons, Rowana was lonely but the friend was using her. Taking advantage of Rowana's need for companionship and loyalty.
The girls were total opposites, the friend being popular and outgoing, and Rowana being the opposite. The friend was bright, while Rowana was dull. Everyone wondered why they hung out with each other in the first place, and what the friend was getting out of it.
Rowana wouldn't discover this until she was 16, catching her friend bragging to one of her bullies about how she always has Rowana on a tight leash and how she can never be friends with such a freak. Hurt by the betrayal (or revelation rather) Rowana would use her dark powers with the intent to harm (for the first time) on her friend, ultimately having her expelled from her school and ruining her image even further.
Soon after Rowana is surprised to get an invitation letter from Alfea school of fairies. Fairies are unheard of on her planet, there are only mages, so the invitation was very shocking. Rowana, though hesitant at first, accepts the invitation with the encouragement of her parents.
She is welcomed with open arms, and her roommates are pretty nice people but she spends the first 2 months keeping to herself despite them inviting her to hang out with them and asking her to study with them. There's especially one of them that reminds her of her former friend, Bloom. The same hair, the same apparent friendliness, and being good at making friends.
What makes her stick out is that she's able to do the spells, but a dark form of them. Like a dark light if that's even possible.
Soon Rowana opens up about being a dark fairy and what life was like on her home planet as being an in between-er of light and dark. The girls are sympathetic and before she knows it she's a part of the Winx Club. Her wardrobe is different thanks to Stella, she knows the latest music thanks to Musa, discovers how to use the latest technology with the help of Tecna, and discovers new ingredients to use in her potions with the help of Flora. She finds out that Bloom is genuine in her good intent, also finding out that she's an outcast where she grew up as well. The girls discover a funny, loving and cute side to Rowana once she starts opening up to them.
The Trix have tried to recruit her but after she gave them a taste of their medicine they've been sworn enemies ever since. They are more cautious of her than they are of Bloom and every other fairy. When the Winx have to study at Cloud tower for a short amount of time, she can easily keep up with the teachings without some kind of negative effect. Her willingness to work with people despite the background they come from is what makes her earn her charmix. Also makes friends with Aisha just because.
One day her parents invite her over to visit and does so with the Winx, but this grabs the attention of Valtor who decides to target her planet. Meanwhile, she bumps into her old classmates and she still has grudges against them. They are pretty mean to her, and she has a meltdown before running off. The girls find her and are able to coax her into coming out of her hiding place. She decides that she's not gonna let anyone's words get to her ever, and should be happy of her heritage despite the freak many will believe her to be. Then they fight Valtor and his minions along with the Trix, and risks her life saving her former classmates, thus earning her Enchantix. It isn't just about saving them, but also putting the past behind and being ready to forgive and move on without any ill will.
Here are some images from some fanmade dress up games.
When it comes to the MK storymode I feel like I'm the only one who personally doesn't have a problem with it. Such as, how it played out and ended.
I only have one complaint, and that is Titan Shang Tsung. It's not the fact that he's in the story because I love Shang Tsung, but it actually has to do with his physical appearance. I'm not talking about his face model. Our Shang (Liu Kang's timeline) is clearly quite young, like mid 20s, and we pick up on his immaturity quickly. Titan Shang Tsung in the last game looked like he was in his early 40s, probably because that's around the age Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa was when he played Shang Tsung in the 90s.
Tagawa was so great in his role that he reprised it for the game, and MK1 even imitated his vibes. Alan Lee does a great job as young Shang, when I first watched the intros and storymode I did a double take, but could tell there was something different.
What I'm getting at is, Titan Shang Tsung should've appeared a little different. At first I thought Titan Shang should have a pointier nose and maybe longer hair or something, but that would've taken away the point that Our Shang immediately saw himself. So instead, I think Titan Shang should've appeared older, maybe taller. Old enough to pass as Our Shang's father, but look similar enough that we can tell it's Titan Shang.
Alan Lee is great at Shang Tsung, but I think they could've at least done some kind of voice modulating thing that makes him sound more refined and mature, since Tagawa and Alan have a different pitch to their voices. I understand that each game has a different take on the characters when it comes to vibes and characterisation, but they felt too similar. Titan Shang felt like more of an evil twin brother rather than an older and much powerful version of self.
Our Shang feels like he was made for Gen Z, like come on he's a scam artist that's funny as hell, and bro is trying to do NFTs, he's so memeable. I'm pretty sure we all bumped into him in high school/secondary school at some point. MK11 Shang feels like that one person you're not sure whether or not you should trust, like a scary business man. That is the point of his aura, but you get what I mean. Our Shang seems like he is easy to irritate, MK11 Shang is so reserved and collected, when he does show irritation he appears like a King about to execute someone who just committed treason. When Our Shang kills someone it's like watching Amber as Ghostface, when she wasn't being loud and acting like the joker.
All I'm saying is, there should've been a completely different air Titan Shang carried, like Titan Kitana and our Kitana.
Edit: Why does Titan Shang have claws too? He wouldn't use them, he's already got his golden acrylic thingies. Our Shang stabbed Reiko like he walked out of a slasher flick, Titan Shang wouldn't do that.
Asgardians are jealous of Loki. The reason Loki is so belittled and gaslighted is because people like to use him, but also in order to keep gaining favours from him, they need to keep him needy of their praise and blah blah blah. I think a lot of us know how it works, so I won't explain that. On the other hand, Loki has something they don't, which is what makes him 'untrustworthy'. Loki is adaptable, curious and dedicated, as well as other amazing traits.
Loki is "burdened with a glorious purpose". He has a bright star, and people who do not have a bright star as well tend to see that star, and want to dim it. (Yes, I believe there's a spiritual side to it.)
Loki can easily acknowledge (and has) that he's jealous of Thor, but when others call him jealous they are projecting. They especially do this when Loki outwits them. They don't even have to be jealous of Loki, they must've had their ego bruised by him in one way or another.
Sif is close to Thor, but she would never be able to surpass Loki's level of closeness, which sucks, because Loki and Thor barely have any similarities. Why is Thor so insistent on attaching Loki to his side? Thor doesn't need Loki. Thor shouldn't want Loki. Sif and Loki mirror each other. Sif is a warrior lady, most likely with a mission to bring greatness back in the name of female warriors, considering the fiasco of Hela and the Valkyries. Loki is a practisioner of magic, which is seen as feminine, and can battle without magic efficiently, as is expected of a prince. Loki can go both ways, but Sif would never be able to do such a thing.
Hogun is that non-white friend in an all white friend group who's willing to forget and disregard his own ethnic background for those white friends. Excluding the whole Jotun Loki thing, Loki and Thor are both mix-raised, seeing as Frigga is from Vanaheim (according to fandom anyways). Loki clearly inherited a lot of Vanaheimian(?) traits, including the black hair, despite having an Asgardian king for a father. If Loki behaves like a Vanaheimian despite having an Asgardian upbringing, how would Asgardians perceive Hogun? Hogun is threatened by Loki and is determined to drive him out of the friend group. On the other hand of this halfblood envy, Loki makes Hogun feel ashamed. A half Asgardian managed to out-Vanaheim the full blooded Vanaheimian.
Fandral and Volstagg? I don't know, I don't care about them. Maybe Volstagg isn't a very smart person and is jealous of Loki's wit, whereas Fandral is an enabler who's there to be a soft blow. He's a reassurance to Loki's insecurity. He's nice so Loki would think "hey, at least there's one person that's okay with me" and still hangs out with them so that they can benefit from him.
I can imagine Loki has quite the reputation. And when you have a reputation, people talk. Loki is intelligent, diplomatic and pretty much has the significant traits of both Odin and Frigga. Loki is hard working, and tries different things. He's a problem solver, and adapts well to cold weather. I could see Thor views this as Loki outshining him, which is why he could never understand how Loki believed he was in Thor's shadow. Thor thought that Loki was better than him, and suspected that maybe Loki knew it too, and made sure to remind Loki which son was in charge. Which son truly had favour. Which son really mattered. Thor cares for and loves Loki, but is also jealous of how much skill and significance Loki has, even though that skill is a result of Loki's determination, trial and errors. Loki was able to butter people up with his silver tongue, but Thor put people on edge with his loudness and forwardness.
Edit: There are more reasons I can come up with for Thor to be jealous of Loki. First off, Thor felt the only significance he had as the son of Odin was that he was the first born. That's the only relevancy he has. Personality wise, he's the typical Asgardian warrior, with the brashness, light hair and being ready for battle. Loki, on the other hand, has many amazing feats, and stands out. Thor would most likely (or is expected to) become a copy paste of Odin, whereas Loki has an identity of his own. Loki can become whatever he wants, and be whoever he wants outside royalty. Thor's destiny is to be the king and remain stagnant.
What makes it worse is that being a male mage is frowned upon for sexist reasons, but Loki ultimately gets away with it. Being the 2nd prince may play a huge factor, but you'd think that Odin would try to put a stop to that. If he did, he wasn't successful, because Loki's a known seidr practitioner to all of Asgard. I don't think Thor would've been allowed, perhaps heavily discouraged from it.
Frigga is a warbride (according to fandom again), and possibly has stockholm syndrome. I guess she's jealous of Loki's freedom. Loki is technically Odin's servant, and one who can easily gain freedom by leaving the family. Thing is, he's a great employee, and they don't want to lose him. He needs to be convinced that he has no one, and has no other opportunities. She loves Loki, but is willing to have him suffer like she does. She needs someone to be trapped with her. She needs that company. She is unknowingly working as Odin's puppet as she does this, because she herself cannot leave.
Heimdall's all seeing eyes can't spot Loki, and that gets on his nerves. This guy doesn't understand that some people find it creepy to be watched, so he can only assume that Loki is up to something. He must be! Why is he hiding himself before stepping into the shower? Why is he hiding himself as he sleeps?
Odin??? I'm not sure. Every abusive, narcissistic parent is envious of their child about something. Sometimes that envy is over nothing. Odin makes declarations of peace, but Loki is the true embodiment of that (ignoring Thor Ragnarok). Odin looked for trouble, but Loki does anything in his power to make it a last resort.
Odin obviously saw Loki as lesser. To have that lesser become the person Odin claimed to be must be a giant bruise to his ego.
Can you do Hanzo, Fujin , Cassie, and kitana with reader that does aerial silk?
Aerial Silk Reader x Mortal Kombat
I had to search up aerial silk for this one, and I gotta say writing this was tricky. Sorry if it sucks. Reader (just like bimbo reader) is descended from a Chaosrealmer which is why she has her abilities (hypnotism, control gravity around her, time-related).
Cassie Cage
Cassie wasn't sure what to make of you being joining the team. Johnny knew you because you were an extra in one of his films, but you had to be great if you were placed with the Kombat Kids. She was pretty sceptical, what were you going to do with a long silk? It certainly wasn't a whip. And then she saw it. When you fought it was as if the world slowed down. You moved majestically, your silk was a trap, and she was trapped. To you.
Surrounded by silk, she kissed you, and you let her.
Hanzo Hasashi
Your moves looked very complicated. No matter how many times Hanzo watched you fight, it was a confusing experience. But it was the kind of confusing he was strangely fine with. Every time it was a performance rather than a moment of bloodshed. Most times you weren't fighting at all, just twisting and turning in that silk of yours. It was a new thing every time. The concept of time did not exist with you in its way, and one could not waste time wondering how that was possible.
Hanzo was glad that you were on his side, even if he was confident he could see through your silk of webs, he was not confident he could burn them, because that would mean burning you.
Fujin
Fujin is entranced to say the least. You commanded gravity itself, and floated where your enemies could see you, but your silk caught the weapons as if they could not be considered an obstacle. If Fujin did not have more than a thousand years of experience he was sure he wouldn't be able to see through your tricks.
Where did the music come from? That he could not figure out. You used his wind against him, and he was caught in your silk. He hung upside down like a butterfly stuck in a web. Fujin was much too cute to suffocate, so you joined his side of the battle.
Kitana
Kitana could remember when she first saw you. You were Shang Tsung's pupil straight from Earthrealm, but it seemed there was something else in your blood. You were a better assassin than she was. Your victims did not know what awaited them as your performance was the last thing they would see. Kitana was almost envious, not of you but of them. She too wanted to see something as beautiful if she were to die.
You were a tangle of silk, and Shang Tsung took pride in this. But Kitana was determined to make that pride become her's, and possibly something more.
Terry Silver through time
Sirius black gets thrown into jail for 13 years, James and Lily die, Remus has to live a tough life.
Me: Ya'll deserved that.
