I dare say this is the happiest I have ever seen Jinx, and it pains me.
AAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH IM FUCKING SOBBING DUDE THE WAY HE HOLDS HER TIGHTER AS THE BACKGROUND GETS LIGHTER AND HER SMILER GETS BIGGER IM LITERALLY GONNA JUMP OFF A CLIFF SCREECHING TIMEBOMB OVER AND OVER PLEASE DUDE I LOVE THEM SO MUCHHH
I will always defend their decisions. As a writer (and as a person with empathy), they did what they could based on experience and fear.
something about vi never wanting anyone in her life to change. something about jayce not caring at all how much viktor has changed so long as he's alive. something about the way vi associates radical change with death, perceiving jinx's continued existence as a kind of necromantic horror—the way jayce would shatter fundamental laws of nature without a second thought in order to give viktor the best chance at survival, in whatever form that may take. transformation as rebirth vs murder, hextech vs shimmer. nature has made us intolerant to change, but fortunately, we have the capacity to change our nature. and then jayce, realizing that he hasn't changed at all, not really—that he is a scientist at heart, and he shouldn't have tried to be anything else. and then vi, realizing she has become someone unrecognizable—never thought my sister would turn bluebelly. and for both of them, it's too little, too late.
I enjoy this headcanon so much. I just KNOW Cait wouldn't let Vi forget that fact
#arcane #caitvi #AU #headcanon
hc that vi used to be taller than cait and then after vacation cait suddenly grows taller HAHAHAHA
EXACTLY.
it isn't just that "Vi thought Jinx left her in that cell", it's more than that
in a really short time, Vi thought she had both Jinx and Vander back, briefly hoped she might get Caitlyn back, then lost Vander again, nearly died, and woke up to the news that after all that progress things were back at the start 6 months prior, that she was going to have to get between Caitlyn and her sister again and possibly lose both again
she didn't get down to Jinx's cell with a rational plan and a clear head - she was desperately clinging to the last hope she had to make things right (in her head, right meaning = having both Jinx and Caitlyn in her life)
yes, she thought Caitlyn would be angry at her, but she also hoped that if Jinx redeemed herself in the eyes of Piltover, she might redeem herself in Cait's eyes too somewhere down the line
was it a good, rational plan? nope. but at that point Vi was one Warwick away from having a complete mental breakdown herself and she was running out of time (the war with Noxus being on their doorstep and all)
and then, not only did Jinx reject that plan, she punched her and locked her in that cell, separating them again. It doesn't matter what words Jinx used in that moment, doesn't matter what she said - Vi could hear her words, see her attitude, but she wasn't in the headspace necessary to listen. She was too caught up in her own grief and despair to pay attention!
she had been clinging to one last hope and she lost it - thought she had lost everyone, for good this time, and that it was her fault. she was basically back in prison (literally thanks to Jinx, but this was also pulling her back to how she felt after her initial separation with Powder in S1)
really, it's no wonder she had such a strong reaction to Caitlyn afterwards
I agree with everyone who said that Vik would keep reading so here's part two!
“We need more complex, female characters” you couldn’t handle anyone from Arcane
EXACTLY!! Is about the emotions involved from both characters. I feel like a lot of people dismiss the sex scene and narrow it down to being this superficial thing; neglecting all the context of the state of the war of Piltover and Noxus and all the ups and downs of CaitVi's relationship. It was a peak emotional moment for them. It wasn't like Cait and Maddie. There was no emotional significance on that (It was Caitlyn's coping mechanism. Period.)
But with Vi, Cait accepted even the things she cannot change, allowing herself to appreciate that moment with her.
For Vi it was almost like a revelation of the freedom that comes with not being attached to taking care of others.
Everything about their relationship is well written. They don't even say "I love you" explicitly, but as the viewer, we can infer those cues and interactions (which is how any relationship gets built, PAYING ATTENTION TO THE UNDERLYING DETAILS)
people who say caitvi’s relationship was badly written haven’t been in a relationship like that before? It feels so normal to me. Maybe that’s just me though lol
It pisses me off cause their writing is beautiful. The way that each of them betray themselves and by doing that they failed the other. But despite that their love is stronger…. They forgive themselves and free themselves to reach out and try to make amends, and the other to be receptive…
AND THEY DID ALL OF THAT WITH SO LITTLE TIME
The culmination of their apology and forgiveness with their sex scene it was…. It was beautiful, cait confession to vi and the sex scene makes me so emotional
Day 55 cleansing the #caitvi tl
I have nothing to say 🤐🤐

A well written character will never be labeled as "good." If you want a relatable, complex, and deep character, you will get someone that makes bad decisions because it is human to fail. Your morals won't necessarily fit theirs. Sometimes, as the spectator, it is easier to see the bigger picture (news flash: you are supposed to) and make assumptions around "the best decision" for that context. THE CHARACTERS DON'T HAVE THAT. They will make mistakes. But they'll also create beautiful things.
That's how you get a well written story, based on the decisions of well written characters.
I feel like people who hate on characters for doing "bad" things, often times completely miss the depth of the character? They just don't seem to realize that the character is "good" or "bad" the character has done good things and bad things, and it isn't just black and white.
The art is great BUT THE CAPTION SETS THE FUCKING BAR LMAO
One day I'm going to reach the stars 🤩
My thoughts exactly:
Jayce would totally share his last name, Viktor, he’s not greedy
