Louis is the middle aged man with redbull merch ๐
I kid you not when I say that even at a Louis concert I can't escape the middle-aged men who wear Red Bull merch
If I had a dollar for every time Norris was bitching behind his current team mate, I'd be fucking rich, dude
I have a lot of feelings about Seb, and especially a lot of feelings about how he was so trash talked, and how his accomplishments have so often been brushed off as luck (as if you could win 4 titles through luck) that he retired believing that.
How people say he got booed and laughed it off, but he then said it was hard on him week after week after week.
How Ferrari used him as a scapegoat for their shortcomings, how we saw his huge smile fade away there, and he still sung them goodbye and thanked them for letting him be a part of their team.
How he said he'd be forgotten quickly, but then lists "Don't You (Forget About Me)" as his favorite song.
How he said it was fine that he would be forgotten soon, but took the time to learn and memorize the name of every f1 champion, because he valued their memory that much.
How he texts the driver who is erasing his records to encourage him to break another one, and has the cameras record that driver saying he doesn't really think about that when he equals it.
There is so much humor and silliness and attitude with Seb's career, and there is also so much heartbreak. And it often seems that the joys come first, and the pains come later and leave their taste lingering.
So it's happy that he retired. That takes a lot of bravery too, to say "I think this is enough" when it's all you've known in life. And to focus on what ultimately matters most, which is giving back to his family and loved ones.
Give it ten more years, and I think we will still remember him, but with a clearer image of how GOOD he was.
he is a man with agency and free will and decided to shake trumps hand and say pleasure to meet you

i love the pacing of sebs instagram posts so so much, the way it went very detailed at first for the karting years with many posts for every year and then when his career picked up, so did the speed he passed the years with and now that we're at the first race it's like it very suddenly hits that this is it and we're suddenly in slow motion. Final talk with the engineer. Getting in the car. Gloves on.
It's masterfully done, if it were a film this would be the part where everything slows down, the noises all get muffled and merge into one and the only thing that's clearly audible is Seb's breathing, then a hard cut, engines on, lights out and away we go.
With men mansplaining Susie Wolff getting the job and pretending it's only because of Toto and not because of her own very successful career in motorsports as a driver, a team principal and CEO, from here on out I am going to say that Christian Horner only got his position because he got married to Ginger Spice. Thanks bye
The one fucking time I decide to sleep in on a Saturday and Oscar takes pole for the Sprint๐ญ
tbh we need to start holding all drivers responsible for the shit they say, not just the ones we don't like (looking at you people who conveniently categorise nico h./checo as the Problematic Onesโข in order to ignore sexist/otherwise bigoted comments made by other drivers)
