Finally someone said it! If it weren't for the people who fucked up his life, Gun would be a good brother/bestie/father.
Headcanons are welcome ππ»
Like I have mentioned before, Gun has a tough and complex life. His environment is fucked enough to dehumanize him to the core. The narrator did a good job in portraying him like a demon, monster or something inhuman. Yet, the narrator gave us some hints of his true self - the nurture self.
I always like this image, the way he's gently caring Yena does something to my brain. Since then I always have the impression he has a mother-side. I mean what kind of man can hold a baby like that? Look at his pinkie, so demure.
Lately, we have panels of him venting about finding a succession (the urge to raise some kiddos), he "babysitting" Crystal, he cooking for Goo, making sushi for Daniel (we can all agree his love language is feeding people), being called "Nurture Genius", and he instinctively trying to comfort Daniel (even though he doesn't need to do that at all)
Then, it's where something clicked in my brain. I realize that is his true self. I bet he was sweet and caring before his family and the destructive lifestyle destroyed him. He has to suppress this self of him since the misogynist world he lived in associated nurture with feminine. And feminine equals weak. To become strong is to embrace the feminine destruction.
Likewise, monsters are made, not born. The problems of Gun Park are: 1) dehumanization and humanization of self, 2) destruction and nurture. I can see his struggle to be a human and control/maintain the "shiro oni" alter ego. It's nice to see his confidants (Goo, Daniel, Crystal,...) can bring out the side he is trying to reject.
I think it's interesting to see it in a major antagonist of a webtoon. Hopefully, Ptj can continue this work, I sure will let him cook.
There was a chinese calligraphy in the living room of Jake's childhood home. I never knew what it meant until recently.
"Hero Lust"
The desire to be a hero.
If that doesn't scream Kim Gabryong, idk what does.
"He could never pass by someone in need or ignore any kind of injustice." - Kang Minseon a.k.a Jake's mom
Hong Jae Yeol is:
The son of Charles Choi's rival.
The direct descendant of the guy who is secretly working with Daniel Park to destroy Ilhae/Workers and to expose Charles Choi's illegal business that involves underage kids. (I challenge you to say this in one breath)
The keeper of Daniel Park's pupper, Inu. He even still babysit Inu while Daniel's second body is being held hostage.
The cleaner of J High kids' mess back when they fought God Dog.
The aide who came to Daniel when he fought Olly Wang's Hostel.
I don't remember the rest lol.
Given his role, I think it's less likely that he doesn't know about the gang war that's happening currently.
The weight of the importance Hong Jae Yeol has to the storyline is just.................
I don't understand why he still hasn't appeared yet. I really hope Pee Tee Jay still remembers that Jae Yeol exists π₯²
Author of lookism..
I will literally BEG for you to just add HONG JAE YEOL AGAIN

I'd like to imagine that Seong Yohan went to Eli's hair salon for this haircut.
He looks fine af π«π
And it would be frickin' wholesome if Eli was the one who did his hair. My man has finally grown out of that hydra cut phase and gained some mad hairdressing skillz
Void Scans is still in maintenance. I'm devastated π
Do you guys know any other scanlation websites?
Lowkey wanna get isekai'd into Lookism as an orphan with a tragic backstory, cluelessly wandering into the slum streets of Gangseo region, being found by one of the girls there and eventually joining Big Deal or something bc i'm done with this world and this bullshit called adulthood
