“i hope you die” lame, overused, unoriginal
“i hope your favourite book series gets a netflix adaptation which is actually good and popular only for netflix to cancel it after 2 seasons” horrifying, upsetting, stabbing me would hurt less
so britt lower improvised taking off her heels as a way of reclaiming helly’s sense of self-agency… she’s so big brained
ella purnell as jackie on the season one cover of yellowjackets is truly the modern day equivalent of drew barrymore on the cover of scream 1996
both plastered all over the marketing for their respective projects just to end up dying early on. tricking people into believing they were final girls only for them to not even be the main character. drew barrymore that about 5 minutes of screen time before she died. and while ella purnell was not the opening kill, her death closes out the first season and marks a turn for the show. both being ionic deaths and staples for their franchises
gods bless the gifmakers, fic authors, and fan artists who are single-handedly keeping dying fandoms on life support even though their shows ended years ago. all 3 of us in the tag owe you so much
if chris managed to keep that lighter on him in the game, i firmly believe he would have kept it forever. it's from josh. sure, after a while, bob and melinda might have let chris collect a few tokens or things of josh's that maybe he gave him or were like ... special to them? but that lighter is the last thing josh gave to him. he probably put it in a drawer to "forget about it", convince himself it just makes him feel ... less guilty? or something close to it. but he always checks that it's there, and hasn't been moved, taken, or lost.
Jonas Kahnwald + orchestrating his own suffering
guys i miss mari so fucking much. i haven’t been this affected by a fictional characters death since rita from dexter, and i only finished season 4 two months ago give me a break. 😪 i could go into depth about how mari meant so much to me like the fact that she wasn’t a stereotypical 90s latina or the fact that she was one of the only latin characters on the show and now all of them are dead!!! 😭 when does it get better
It's crazy how Michael barely appears in the show. There is another version of Mikkel, but he never becomes Michael. Then he doesn't even exist in the original world. In the beginning he haunts the story from both sides. From the start of the first episode with Jonas having nightmares about his dead father to the end of the episode with Mikkel's disappearance.
Everything about Michael in Season 1 is this haunting presence for Jonas. His scenes in Season 1 are mostly just appearing covered in a black substance. We discover he's Mikkel, the little boy, but we don't know about the man he became and why he made the choices he did. Until we finally meet him again in season 2 and it all makes sense. He is really fantastic in "An Endless Cycle," which is the only episode where we really have him as Michael.
While Michael wasn't the character with the most screen time, it was a wonderful use of the same character in different times. Mikkel builds the story, we already know him when we get to Michael's part, and it feels like a perfect way to fulfill the character arc. It is just fitting and absolutely heartbreaking to see the character accept his fate because of how much he loves Jonas.
is anyone else reading this.
the washington's have the saddest endings and i do not appreciate it. beth sees her sister get humiliated, so she runs after her in the snowy mountains, falls off a cliff with her, and dies. hannah gets humiliated, so she runs out of the cabin, falls off a cliff with her sister and surprisingly doesn’t die. she then had to stay trapped in the mines with her dead sister's body, decided to bury her, but then EATS HER because it had been a month of her being stuck in there and chose not to starve to death. which leads to her turning into a wendigo. josh having lost his two sisters over a stupid prank brings everyone back to the mountain to have some type of closure, while going through withdrawals, and as a result is either killed by handigo or is taken by her to become a wendigo himself. and only in the remake, made TEN YEARS LATER, do they give josh the chance to actually survive like the others. not to mention that the parents will have now lost all of their children. the fact none of them get a happy ending makes me so angry. i need to lie down
when i reread josh’s report i noticed that he was taking 90 milligrams a day. AND HE QUIT IT JUST COLD TURKEY OUTRIGHT !!
i’m genuinely surprised at how he managed to keep it all together when everybody got to the lodge.
