okay but have you considered steve has a mini fridge in his room filled with water and some other high protein snacks to give to his guests after sex but he hits kinda dry spell after the events of s3
when he and eddie start hanging out all the time, he fills his mini fridge for the first time in months with all of eddie’s favorite drinks and snacks and eddie is just like fucking baffled bc how tf can you afford a mini fridge? *why* tf do you have a mini fridge like just go downstairs?? and steve explains that he originally got it so he wouldn’t have to go downstairs every time he had sex to get his guests stuff and eddie is just like. speechless. eventually after a lot of blushing he just mumbles like “bro we get it you get a lot of girls stop being a show off” in a faux annoyed tone to which steve is both like a little offended but mostly amused and fully like wtf ok weird jab??
meanwhile eddie hasn’t realized the fridge is filled with all his favorites, he’s just trying. so. hard. to not think ab steve fucking other people
Chapter two is out! You can read it on AO3.
Chrissy and Eddie have been best friends since middle school, ever since that one misguided kiss led to them coming out to each other in a panic. In order to shield themselves from the town’s homophobia, they promised that they’ll help each other find love; and that they won’t date until the other one does. Now, four years later, Robin finds out about their deal and in an attempt to shoot her shot with Chrissy, convinces Steve to take Eddie out on a date. The problem is Steve thinks he’s straight and Eddie hates him.
Or
A fic based on 10 Things I Hate About You, where the last thing that happened with the Upside Down was Starcourt (but Billy was never involved) and Eddie, Chrissy, Robin and Steve are trying to navigate their senior year and maybe, hopefully find love.
Chapter Synopsis
Robin tutors Chrissy in French for the opportunity to grow closer to her, but an intimate moment leaves her flustered and questioning Chrissy's intentions. Eddie is convinced Robin is a lesbian and is on a mission to show Chrissy she has a chance. Robin finds out about their deal and pushes Steve to take a risk that could impact both their love lives.

steddie have that kind of marriage where their kid ends up calling steve ‘sweetheart’ and ‘love’ because that’s what they hear eddie call steve. by the time they realize what’s been happening, steve is embarrassed and eddie doubles down on never using his real name again.
I’ll get over it I just gotta be dramatic first
“While many people think fanfiction is about inserting sex into texts (like Tolkien’s) where it doesn’t belong, Brancher sees it differently: “I was desperate to read about sex that included great friendship; I was repurposing Tolkien’s text in order to do that. It wasn’t that friendship needed to be sexualized, it was that erotica needed to be … friendship-ized.” Many fanfiction writers write about sex in conjunction with beloved texts and characters not because they think those texts are incomplete, but because they’re looking for stories where sex is profound and meaningful. This is part of what makes fan fiction different from pornography: unlike pornography, fanfic features characters we already care deeply about, and who tend to already have long-standing and complex relationships with each other. It’s a genre of sexual subjectification: the very opposite of objectification. It’s benefits with friendship.”

Someone put it into words. I gotta sit down
literally Steve
Just waiter Steve who’s in tiny black shorts because Robin didn’t like how the pair she was assigned fit. So they swapped, Robin with the baggier basketball shorts and Steve with the short but reasonable pair. Both of them have ties and a button down, and some days even wear sunglasses for the bit.
Though one day while on the clock, Rockstar Eddie comes in. High off his ass. Comes off as a dick, so Steve and Robin double team him. One of them “accidently” trips the other into dumping soup all over him. Then when the other is trying to clean it up, the other is purposely charging Eddie for the soup (it’s not like he’ll notice) and the older gentleman who comes here every day gets a free meal.
Turns out the older man that comes in there every day is Wayne and he’s now sitting across from a soup covered Eddie laughing his ass off because he knows how the wonder twins work when a customer is an asshole. (It’s not the first time he’s received a free meal from them)
just thinking about eddie. he's sooo loud and opinionated and obnoxious and an asshole sometimes and he was pissed off that a national magazine was demonizing him and his friends for playing DND, so he went on a whole hater rant about it. thinking about how he's also confident and charismatic and protective and secretly sweet, and according to dustin, he was the only one that was nice to him and mike when they started high school, and eddie's band is also outcasts that he took in and gave them all a place to belong and he was happy when hellfire club beat his campaign. and when erica stood up to him, he shook her hand and had no problem giving her props and bowing to her. he wasn't even friends with chrissy but he let her see through the 'mean and scary' image and goofed off to make her feel better and did everything just to try and help her.
when he was scared out of his mind, he pushed steve against a wall but couldn't actually hurt him and admitted his assumptions about steve were wrong and took the time to tell him he's a good dude. in the field when they're all preparing for impending doom, eddie played around with dustin and told him never to change and gave him a subtle little goodbye and a nice last moment because he knew he wasn't running away this time. he cut the rope to try and keep dustin out of harm's way while he sacrificed himself for a town full of people that wanted him dead, but he died in dustin's arms anyway and used his last words to tell him he loved him. and eddie, who didn't want to be like his dad, whose uncle loved him and knew that violence wasn't in his nature, is only going to be remembered for doing things that he was never capable of. just thinking.
