Chapter six is up on AO3.
Chrissy and Eddie have been best friends since middle school, ever since that one misguided kiss led to them coming out to each other in a panic. In order to shield themselves from the town’s homophobia, they promised that they’ll help each other find love; and that they won’t date until the other one does. Now, four years later, Robin finds out about their deal and in an attempt to shoot her shot with Chrissy, convinces Steve to take Eddie out on a date. The problem is Steve thinks he’s straight and Eddie hates him.
Or
A fic based on 10 Things I Hate About You, where the last thing that happened with the Upside Down was Starcourt (but Billy was never involved) and Eddie, Chrissy, Robin and Steve are trying to navigate their senior year and maybe, hopefully find love.
Chapter Synopsis
In the aftermath of the party, Eddie continues to avoid Steve at all costs while Robin and Chrissy decide to take matters into their own hands.
I can see them screaming behind their eyes and it makes me laugh every time. they look insane. beloveds <3
the way those two dinguses aren’t canonically together but they had so much chemistry in the few scenes they shared, that y’all wrote so many amazing stories and drew so many amazing pictures… and for the past 2 1/2 years I’ve thought about them as I fall asleep every single night.
so i just want to say thank you to this fandom for giving me one thing that brings me a lot of joy. 💖

Every day I think about how visibly upset Steve was that Nancy wouldn’t let him seduce the asylum director
"Are you?" MADDIE YOU ARE FUCKING INSANE
Okay, so let me see if I understand correctly:
Boys wanting to write poetry is a metaphor for boys wanting the freedom to make out in the back of old bookstores and to wear lipstick while reciting Shakespearean sonnets without having to hear the constant disapproval of others
Men running away to become pirates is a metaphor for men running away from the safe, heteronormative lives society forced them into in order to start a more genuine, albeit more dangerous, life for themselves
Nerdy teens fighting monsters together is a metaphor for teens who were once outcasted by their community for being different helping each other to confront their trauma and to become the heroes of their own stories
And women playing baseball is a metaphor for women reclaiming their femininity after spending most of their lives being told they’re “not real girls” because they don’t fit the mold the patriarchy wants them to fit into
But ultimately all of them are just metaphors for a friend group being gayer than the fucking fourth of July
Robin: I'm here to kiss girls and play the french horn
Steve: And she threw it at a demogorgon yesterday so she's all out of french horn
stobin; high fives
I'm imagining Castiel visiting the house where Jack was born.
so, i’ve been a little nervous about writing the romance parts of my current fic. i’ve never written a kissing scene before and i want to make it good - it's a slow burn so the payoff's gotta be good. the only thing i can think of is to do a lot of reading…
all jokes aside, if you have any tips for writing romantic or intimate scenes…help a guy out?
