I have always felt that Athena was the most dangerous olympian, she choose the right side from day one and when the time comes...
she will strike.
I like exploring Athena's perspective. Considered the favoured child and the one most likely to side with Zeus for the simple reason that he is the king and she is his general, he may be wrong but most often than not, she can make him right.
But if you think about it. Her mother, the first queen (a child born of a king and a queen, a wife and a husband, one of the only children of Zeus that was spared Hera's wrath and even freely given her respect because she isn't a bastard), was taken and imprisoned by Zeus in his body together with Athena still in her womb. And then she was sent away to the oceans to be raised by Triton and along Pallas, her sister (a partner no matter the interpretation), who Zeus causes the death of because of the fear of a superficial damage to his pride (Athena who was raised in the ocean and saw the last of it on that day, high up in her pedestal, owl eyes just barely glimpsing the sea that once cared for her).
And then you tell me that Athena the strategist, who unlike Ares has the smarts and the foresight to set aside honour and noble intentions, and cheat and lie and deceive anyone who stands between her and her goal, the patron of politicians and manipulators, who can wear wisdom and glory and make them weapons sharper than her spear if need so, a weaver perhaps in a similar sense as the Fates and against them, is not just waiting for the right time, preparing the right pieces to topple the King's crown and might?

Don’t miss a thing! New unread activity notifications
We’re making some changes to the activity view on web — starting with unread notifications that will be highlighted blue, as well as multi-colored labels to identify those who you’re closest with.
Why are we doing this?
You may have previously noticed that some activity items were highlighted, and some weren’t. What you may not know is why this was, and you’re not alone.
The previous, light blue highlighting indicated items that were from people you follow. Obvious, right? Well, no, not really. There are design patterns in interfaces that have become standardized from widespread usage to mean a certain thing. Highlighting notifications light blue is one of those that have come to mean “unseen” or “unread.” Which is what it will now mean here, too.
How do I know which are from people I follow?
Good news! We now have colorful labels to identify activity from people you follow. On top of that, we’ve created a new label called “Mutuals” to show people you follow and who follow you back so that you can keep track of those closest to you.
Before and after
Before: Blue highlighting used to signify activity from people you follow.
After: New highlight color now used on unread activity
After: Colorful new labels to distinguish activity from people you follow (following) and who follow you back (mutuals).
More to come
This is the first of several improvements we are making to activity and notifications—so stay tuned for further updates as they come!

"I know Lewis Hamilton sings, so it would be cool if I played the piano, and he sang. We should plan that, but I've already talked to him about it. It's not happening soon."

"This book is dedicated to everyone who longed for a story solely centred on the Gods and Goddesses of Greek Mythology."
Throughout the years, I've noticed a plethora of retellings revisiting the mythos of the Trojan War, the Odyssey, and the adventures of the Greek heroes. However, I've always yearned for a story focused entirely on the drama-filled lives of the Gods alone.
Forget "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills," I wanted to watch "The Real Housewives of Olympus"!
When I was younger, I devoured the old myths and found the gods seemingly an afterthought in many stories. Because the myths were written by men about men, the gods remained a mystery and left me wanting more.
With all the commotion happening on a mountaintop, I was never interested in the predictable 'Hero's Journey.' Instead, I wanted to know what Hera had for breakfast and, more importantly, what time Zeus got home the night before. Their sky drama had me hooked!
As I started writing my story in 2018, I felt compelled to stay true to the myths of the Gods. In my world, characters aren't simply black or white; they exist in many shades of grey. This doesn't make me dislike them for their faults; rather, it illustrates that people aren't purely good or evil—we encompass everything simultaneously.
And for some, that concept is too frightening to grasp.
Love Triangle: Ares/Aphrodite/Hermes 😖
Sibling Rivalry: Ares/Hebe/Hephaestus vs. Hermes/Athena/Artemis 😏
Slow Burn: Hades/Persephone 🫣
Fated Mates: Ares/🤫 Hephaestus/🫢
Forbidden Loves: Hermes/Hera (it's kinda complicated 👀)
Touch Her & U Die: Ares/Hebe & Apollo/Artemis 🔥
Passions of the Gods is the first installment in a series of novels retelling the dark lore of Olympus.
