blender nostalgia for meeeee
Dawn.
An asteroid orbiter to many,
a close friend to some,
a sister to two,
and a life partner to one exoplanet-hunting space telescope.
overlapping animation is fun :P
tail wasnt necessarily hard to do; just a lengthy process i animated one axis (left/right) for the bones, then the next axis (up/down), and the last third axis (side to side) in the case of his stinger
Dawn my beloved
Ceres looking a little like the moon because i have to work within a simple style and in this case would be a little tricky to show texture
still a heck ton to do, she might be fit for rendering (well, viewport renders because the workspace is an absolute mess), but i still have to make sure her thrusters and extra things for expressions (ex the hands) are rigged properly and no major bugs appear
"What do you know about spherical aberration?"
"when amateurs build mirrors and do it sloppily they get what's called a downturned edge, and on different radii of the mirror it focuses the light on different parts of the optical axis and it's physically impossible to ever focus a telescope; they're useless."
"Well you launched Hubble Space Telescope with a spherically aberrated mirror."
Animated Spitzer some time ago to a line from his voiceclaim (Hot dog guy from TAWOG). I did use a high-pass filter and echo with a verry small delay time to get that little roboticy effect that my spacecrafts' voices would have
if i had a finished mars odyssey rig, i would have animated more of that scene lol
this wghayt happene when u retire L2 Gaia Space Telescope from orbit
Tribute art + a really silly GIF. Happy 10th landing anniversary, Philae ^-^
