Katsuki’s stance relaxed further when Noodle Hair confirmed that the kid was okay. One less thing to worry about…
Honestly, he barely remembered shit from his stay in that hospital. He was too busy bitching about the pain he felt from his injuries to pay much attention to anything else. He glanced between the two siblings and gave a nod. “I kinda figured it out by the hair,” he bluntly admitted.
He would have said something else but was quickly interrupted by Burnin’ and a police car arriving on the scene.
“Bakugou!” The hero was wrapping capture tape around the villain and helping the police lift the man up. She grinned over at him. “Nice job!”
“Yeah, yeah!” He huffed. Though, even with his nonchalant reaction, there was a hint of a smirk on his lips.
“You can go back to the Agency if you want!” she added before helping to haul off the robber.
Katsuki just shrugged. Not like his shift was likely gonna get much more exiting than that. “Alright.”
With that taken care of, he refocused his attention back on Rody. He raised an eyebrow. “So why the hell are you here?” The question was still burning in the back of his head. “Deku didn’t tell me shit about you visiting.”
The hair? Ah, the noodle hair. Of course. How could he forget?
Rody stepped back with his siblings when the pro and police arrived. While Bakugou interacted with them, Rody continued to comfort Roro and Lala, giving them comforting head rubs and words of reassurance. It also allowed him a moment to properly breathe.
He almost wanted to tell the other off for swearing in front of the kids, but he would let it slide this time.
"Oh, Deku doesn’t know I’m here, actually.” There was a sheepish rub to the back of his head, messing up his ponytail a bit as his other arm adjusted its hold around Roro. “It’s kind of a surprise? We wanted to spend a day or two by ourselves to explore the city before meeting up with Deku.” Knowing how he was, if Deku knew he and his siblings were coming, he would have wanted to pitch in and help- but Rody wanted to do this on his own. Additionally, Deku was probably busy with school, or even with patrols like Bakugou was. Rody didn’t want to overwhelm the hero by showing up in the middle of the week. He could wait till the weekend.
Oh.
“Don’t tell him that. Or that you saw me-” Unless the three of them went to see him today instead. Which wasn’t always a bad idea, it just wasn’t the original plan.

Ah, of course he’s made it obvious.
Izuku rests his chin on his hands, fingers linked together to support himself better. “Sometimes you just get a craving,” he jokes with a huff. Normally, more time would pass between him just appearing and someone asking this kind of questions, but this situation is different. In such a close-knit community, if it can be called that, every stranger stands out like a sore thumb.
“I think I’ll have the fries. Gonna go with the craving first.” At least he can make the other work for it. Get him more curious, and get something in return.
Hopefully.
“Right.” The word was practically laced with suspicion. A craving for a specific place’s fries, when you’ve never been to said place. Makes total sense. There were plenty of other, non-shady, places to grab some unhealthy fries at.
Whatever squint Rody’s eyes held was immediately lost as he grinned, reverting back to that customer service personality for the moment. He was on the job after all. “Alright, I’ll go get those for ya then. If you want anything else to drink besides water, let me know.” And off to the kitchen he went. Though, a certain pink bird did fly out of his work apron onto the bar counter.
Looks like she was keeping watch. Let’s hope the new fry-loving customer didn’t mind two little eyes observing his every move.
Rody brightened at how the other acknowledged Pino. It was nice that they were considering her feelings too. She gave her wings a few more happy flaps as the brunette started to question the kind offer.
“Are you sure...? I mean, you put time and effort into this; are you okay with not seeing it again?” It was just so good! But if it was something they did often then... maybe they were used to parting with their drawings.
“Hm... Where ya headed by the way? If you don’t mind me asking.” Rody may or may not have wanted to pay the polite stranger back in some way.
@rody-soul liked x for a starter!
“so i hope you’re okay with this,” they then held out a piece of paper that had a drawing of rody petting pino who was on his shoulder. “i couldn’t help myself and i drew the both of you since you seem to have such an adorable dynamic.”
they had no idea who this guy was, but that never stopped them from practicing their art in real life.

The villain’s eyes follow the server as he walks away, an eyebrow raised in the only acknowledgment of the other’s comment.
Maybe he played it just a little stupid (and tremendously dangerous), but Izuku, while accepting said fact, doesn’t really consider himself dense. It’s all going to pay off one way or the other, either by finding out at least some of the answers to his questions, or bringing attention to him. He can use both.
As he bides the time for the other boy’s return, Izuku slowly scans the other patrons’ appearances. Nothing out of ordinary for this kind of place, and nothing his eyes would rest upon for longer than just a moment. Oh well.
Once the server returns, Izuku welcomes him with another smile; a bit different than the one he gave him before. “So,” he begins, “How about you answer my question, and I answer yours in return?” Sounds shady, but then he follows with a quite innocent inquiry: “Why do you think I came here?”
Coming back with the fries, Rody set them down in front of his current patron of interest. The pink bird stayed in her place by the bar.
Hearing the other start, Rody knew something was up. Well, he knew something was up since the guy walked in. He squints a bit, raising an eyebrow at the inquiry. It doesn't hurt to entertain him. "Sure." Rody smiled leaning against the booth, getting 'comfortable.' He thought maybe the question would be straight to the point, and Rody would finally have a clear answer to why he was here. With that expectation, the actual question caught him off-guard for a moment.
But he liked it.
The brunette hummed with a smile. "People come here for lots of different reasons. To generalize, they come here looking for jobs and information. To meet with others they plan to work with." There was a pause as Rody looked him over. "Seeing that you asked me a question like that, I don't think you're here for any jobs. I think you're already on the job, looking for something."
He leaned in a bit from his side of the booth. "Now, should I ask the obvious question and hope you answer me honestly?" He rhetorically asked before asking his real question. "What's your real reason for coming here? I think being honest is in your best interest if you want what you're looking for. But that's just your server speaking."
us-smash:
“ I’m very lucky to have you as a boyfriend Rody..”
Quickly realizing what he had just called rody and felt his face quickly turning red in a matter of seconds. Oh no he said that out loud!
"Ah, there we go."
That's right, just tease your way through the blushing, Rody. "That's the correct word that you should have been using. Good job, hero."
There was the smallest moment of panic, a muffled chirp coming from Rody's ponytail.
"..A costume that looks like yours. For Pino. I can't find one anywhere; looks like I'll have to make it myself."
rody-soul:
…
“Why isn’t there a Deku one?”
“A Deku one of what?”
Pino flew back towards him with a loud chirp. It caused Rody to look up since she had only been flying around silently before. Something must have caught her attention.
Rody froze in place at the sight suddenly in front of him. His heart felt like it was going to leap out at any moment. He was so happy but so so worried at the same time. These emotions were stirring up within him and needed to be let out.
"..Izuku."
Rody prepared for the hug once he saw Deku take his first steps. Upon impact, he stumbled back a bit but kept them both up right nonetheless. His heart shattered at the sound and sight of Izuku sobbing. He quickly wrapped his arms around him, giving a tight, comforting squeeze.
It didn't take long for Rody to start tearing up, burying his face into the green mess of hair, holding him even closer.
"...Y-You had me worried sick..."
Izuku was tired. Exhausted, honestly. Physically, emotionally, and any other type of exhausted that existed. After Uraraka managed to convince the civilians to let him rest at U.A., the last of his adrenaline drained from him. He could barely stand, so it was no surprise when his male classmates lifted him into the air and carried him off to the bath.
Though, as he was being carted off, he managed to glance around at the familiar surroundings of the common area. Though he’d been away for nearly two months, it felt more like an entire year instead.
Out of the corner of his eye, he spotted an oddly familiar pink bird flying across the living room. There was no way, right...?
There was no way he was here...!
He was just hallucinating from exhaustion. That had to be it! Still, Izuku could feel his heart ache as he was pulled into the bathroom.
