Deku was so... bright about everything. Even if it was just about cats.
“Ha...” It was admiring really.
Rody followed him into the store, glancing back over at the cats now that they were inside. He quietly hoped that they would find good homes. He looked up to the signs, squinting at the writing. Rody had started studying Japanese in his free time, but hadn’t had the chance to test his skills out in the real world. It seemed like he was still a struggling to read.
He caught up to Deku, squeezing past the same customers, eyes running over the collection of toys. As if on cue, Pino flew over and landed on the perch, bells ringing as she did so.
“Cute-” She began hopping in place, the bells ringing more and more with each hop. “Okay I can see a small issue.”
It took everything in Izuku not to start bouncing up and down where he was standing. He was waiting outside of Gate 15 for an incoming flight from Otheon. Finally, after seven long months of waiting, today was the day!
Rody was visiting him in Japan!
They had been planning this for months. Instead of spending his extra money on All Might merchandise, he focused all of it towards Rody’s travel expenses and anything they’d end up doing while together for the week. They had practically talked every other day ever since Rody had saved up money to buy a cell phone. They had learned a lot about each other in that time, and despite the long distance between them, Izuku still felt as if they were becoming closer than ever.
So, really... it wasn’t much of a surprise that this was the most excited he’d felt in a very long time.
As soon as he spotted Rody’s face, his eyes lit up as bright as the sun. He couldn’t help but rush forward and pull the other young man into a fierce hug. He could feel himself tearing up, but he managed to keep the tears at bay. He couldn’t keep the grin off of his face even if he tried to.
“I can’t believe you’re actually here right now!” he exclaimed with a cheerful laugh. “It’s so great to see you again, Rody!”

Rody chuckled as his freckled friend hid himself. He definitely wouldn't ever let it go. It would be such good teasing material!
"Hm?" He stared blankly at the other.
"Wait, you want to go right now?" Rody leaned over his friend's shoulder, looking at the phone. Pino peeked out of his ponytail too. Seemed like they were both interested. "I mean, sure, yeah. I'm up for it." He thought that Deku might have wanted to go with a whole group of friends, but that did mean more witnesses if something embarrassing did happen.

"Maybe because you are one-" Rody mumbled real quietly, holding back a laugh. All tease, of course.
“Wha-?! Rody!” Izuku gasped, fake-offended. Unfortunately, his voice cracked over Rody’s name.
“Deku...”
Rody finally let go of the pink bird, letting her hover nearby. He proceeded to wrap his arms around Izuku for a comforting hug, holding him close and tight as his heart pounded against his chest. Now was the time for some heartfelt honesty it seemed. Something that Rody still wasn’t completely used to.
“...Because love is risky. But it’s a risk most are willing to take since love makes life worthwhile..” He was embarrassed to even say such things but he couldn’t let this be a one sided conversation.
“I’m not worried about you making me upset at all.. You’re incredibly thoughtful and respectful. You always mean well.” One of Rody’s hands moved up, running it through the back of Deku’s hair. “You’re okay. We’re okay.”

Oh he actually did it, Izuku feeling his heart pound in his chest now. Alright Izuku you can do this you’ve held hands with people before this isn’t any different! Yet the thought of it was making his heart go faster and a tinge of pink come to his face. Taking the plunge and just going for it the greenette quickly placed his hands into Rody’s to hold them.
"Right, right." Rody took the phone carefully from the other. Good thing he had a phone now or else this would have been awkward. He started typing the number in, fidgeting a bit at the mention of the pink bird.
"Oh, Pino?" Rody tilted his head in her direction. "She's, ya know, a bird." This got a glare from said bird as Rody returned the phone. "A very expressive one. What could you possibly want to know?"
@rody-soul
"You can't tell me what to do."
“i might not be able to make you sleep or drink water, but it does beg the question on how you’re doing.”

The green-haired boy seems lost in his thoughts, but his head turns towards the server the moment the other approaches him, a polite smile plastered onto his face.
“Hi.” It’s always a good choice to start with a greeting. It shows manners, and it gives one a few precious seconds to gather his thoughts, if he so requires.
Izuku doesn’t.
“Hope you don’t mind me just picking a table on my own,” he follows as his expression changes and takes a tinge of embarrassment. “I wasn’t sure if I should wait,” (Read: it doesn’t look like that kind of place.) “And you seemed busy, so…” He finishes with a small shrug. “But a recommendation would be helpful.” A meal is one of the last, if not the last, motivations that could bring him here, but Izuku isn’t that thoughtless; asking questions from the moment he stepped inside won’t get him anywhere. Well, maybe it would — outside, kicked out by the server, and that’s an eventuality he can’t afford here.
Seeing the other smile was a good start, but Rody couldn't tell if it was genuine or not. He'll find out eventually. "Don't mind at all; it's what people usually do here."
Taking a quick glance behind him to look at the rest of the establishment, he took note of what was being ordered the most as of tonight. As if he didn't already know, having served all that stuff himself. "Burgers are always a safe bet." Rody grinned, facing back to the stranger. "Or just some fries if you're not that hungry." There was a thoughtful hum, Rody's suspicion and curiosity slipping into it.
"But would you really come to this area just for some greasy fries? Doesn't seem worth the trip."
Pino chirped loudly, flapping her wings all about. She was staying glued to this man and giving him an earful while doing so.
The man growled in frustration since Pino was blocking his vision and being annoying. He flailed his hands to swat the bird away, managing to do so after many failed attempts. But just as he got rid of one problem, another one grabbed hold of him. Before he could retaliate, his face met the hard ground, grimacing against the pavement in pain and defeat.
Rody was off the phone by now, slowly stepping out of the alley with the kid in his arms. Poor thing was scared and rightfully so. "Uravity!" He called out to the hero, staying back just in case. "Help is on the way! Are you okay?!" Pino was alright, by the way. She was a little out of it but was slowly gathering herself on the sidewalk.
Time flew by like the wind. Between classwork and trying to help Rody feel accommodated at UA, Ochako had barely enough time for herself!
But she decided to ask Hatsume for a new upgrade to her uniform and was passing the hallway when she noticed Rody's door to his guest room stood open. Sneaking a peak, she poked her head in but to her surprise he didn't seem to be there. Had he simply forgotten to close the door?
Scratching her head, she continued on her way to Hatsume when her stomach growled. Although she had a small lunch a few hours prior and wasn't very hungry, she still wanted to eat something.
I guess I'll meet Hatsume later.
With that thought, Ochako made her way to the kitchen to see if she could find a snack.

Though he didn’t expect Rody to give up this quickly, the villain isn’t about to act or feel dissatisfied with the fact that he didn’t get a chance to show the other just how convincing he can be. On the contrary — his lips stretch out in a content smile, and he pats the other boy’s forearm with a nod.
“Yeah, we can take a small detour,” he agrees, but not without putting emphasis on the we. It’s something Rody should have figured out by now, but the green-haired boy still does it, just in case. You’re not going anywhere until I let you, the implications say.
“Why, you need to grab something from your house, or…?” Or maybe let someone know he’s going to be away for a while. A smart tactic, really; Izuku would have done the same if he were in Rody’s position. That means that, if anything bad were to happen to him, there will be somebody looking for him. Not that there’s any plans to get rid of the other as an inconvenient witness or anything, but that’s something the other boy can’t know.
Rody could have gone without the forearm pat. First they linked arms and now that- touchy, isn't he? Rody dreaded the "we" that came from his mouth. He had expected Izuku to tag along, given the circumstances, even if he would really prefer him not to.
"Well, unlike you, I just worked a five hour shift and would rather not fly for two hours in these clothes." It wasn't a lie. But it wasn't the reason he wanted to go home. He could have put up with staying in these clothes, but no way was he going to bring up his siblings. So now he was going to have to change. "Let's get going." Rody promptly left the alley, keeping Pino out of sight as he led the way.
Once they were a block away from the trailer park he lived in, Rody came to a stop, gaze landing on his partner. "...Can you at least wait here for like ten minutes? You should understand my caution of not letting a stranger know where I live, right?"
Yeah, he definitely meant well. That smile had warmth and kindness behind it. Pino warmed up to the new acquaintance a bit, giving a bright chirp in response. It was nice to meet him too!
"Oh, right." Pino fluttered up to rest on Rody's shoulder. "The name's Rody. Rody Soul." He extended a hand out to the other. "What about you, spiky?"
@rody-soul replied to your post:
*very slowly hides Pino out of sight*
“Uwa–whatcha got there?”
Pulling his hands away would be rude right? Not that he wanted to pull them away anyways but... He really didn’t know what to do in this moment. Rody had never experienced this sort of feeling while growing up, nor did he have the time for it if he ever had. This was all new.
He felt Deku’s hands leave his, thinking this mess of a situation was over. What a fool he was; thinking that he would regain his composure and continue the conversation like normal. The feeling of hands on his face was completely unexpected and sent him into even more of a panic. “De-” He tried to speak up as his head was turned. Time seemed to move in slow motion as he saw Izuku’s face inch closer and closer and- ...!
He immediately froze up and his heart was pounding. It was all he could hear- could Deku hear it? He hoped not. Just like with the hand-holding, Rody made no effort to pull away, letting the kiss continue. This was not a thing just friends would do. His lips twitched with nerves and indecision of what to do. With some hesitation though, his hands had rested on the shorter one’s shoulders. He wasn’t pushing him away; he simply wanted to get his attention.
