Ok I hate endless franchises and reboots that no one asked for as much as the next guy, but BOY do I wish that the Percy Jackson universe becomes the next big thing. When I say I (and many other people I’m sure) would KILL to see Heroes of Olympus / Trials of Apollo on screen. Never before has something I love as much as these stories been adapted onscreen, and I am endlessly excited by the possibilities.
annual reminder that the meta reason for why Percy’s birthday is August 18th is that mid-August is the height of the Perseids meteor shower every year. Named as such because the meteors appear to emanate from the constellation Perseus, of course named for the Greek mythological hero that Percy was named after.
When I was a child, I never felt like a child. I felt like an emperor with a city to burn.
Fight me on this (actually don't) but Tim is Dick's baby brother. He is the one Dick gets to take on silly adventures, they go to the grocery store and max out Bruce's credit card on the toys section. They take a weekend off to laze on Dick's couch watching bad movies and eating day old pizza until Tim says he wants something more substantial, but instead of cooking something, Dick presents him with a can of tomato soup and goes "Here's your dinner, your Majesty," and Tim's a menace so he drinks it straight from the can without heating it just to throw it up five minutes later.
Tim is the one who still goes up to Dick and tells him about his day, who asks him for advice, and calls him just to share a funny story. Tim is the one who tries to make Dick's favourite foods when he is down, who pulls Dick out of bed on the days he feels like drowning, he is the one who sits on Dick's living room when the world feels too big and he is too small, and Dick has piles of cases to finish.
Tim is the one Dick would go feral for, the one Dick doesn't know how to give up because he was the one that was there when shit hit the fan and Dick thought he would never get up again.
Damian: How did you just do that
Tim: Your superboy learned to not fear you, mine learned that he should.
I love to think that during Kaz's journey to re-learn skin-to-skin touch, he starts touching Inej's hair instead. Just going through it with naked fingers, or combing it, or maybe even braiding it. He's a bit tense at first, because he's still Kaz Brekker and affection doesn't come natural to him. But eventually it becomes a habit. It's a way of telling her he's trying, and he's giving her his best. It's a way of being intimate without getting triggered, a way of cuddling her without ruining the mood with staggered breathing.
That scene in Fence: Disarmed where Aiden and Jesse fence each other, while Aiden tells Jesse that Seiji is clearly over him. Jesse still wins the match and Aiden asks if it *feels* like he won. And of course Jesse is like “yes? Because I won!” but he’s so angry…
Maybe you won but it do you feel good about it? In the end, does it really matter that you won?
Yeah. I’m never going to stop thinking about that
this post goes out to sally fucking jackson
the woman who stayed in an abusive relationship for years to keep her son safe.
the woman who survived a minotaur attack and the underworld.
the woman who ate a primarily blue diet out of pure spite.
the woman who turned her abusive husband into a statue and sold him for a fortune.
the woman who was offered, by poseidon, a palace under the sea if she wished.
the woman who picked up a shotgun from a police car, used it against a laistrygonian giant, and when asked when she learned how to use it, responded “just now”.
a woman who, without notice, was met by a newly-human god and his twelve year old master and, without batting an eye, offered them food and clothing.
a woman who is a mother above all mothers.
i love sally jackson.
Annabeth: Yeah, I'm down. Can I bring my weird roommate along?
Percy: Can you stop calling me that now that we're married
