The Horror
guess who loves colouring but sucks at it ayyyy here’s Ben Hargreeves, no.6!
Because I’ve seen one or two?? already and wanted to add my own. (This is very basic and superficial AU, but that’s what I have lol)
Basically:
· Luther- Ben- big, awkward Luther who’s scared to leave the house because leaving the house means stress of accidentally releasing the Horror. And stressed Luther means, hello, tentacles. It’s a cursed cycle so he stays in the house most of the time and does a lot of meditation and control exercises
· Diego- Klaus- ‘my-middle-name-is-Angry’ Diego would take no shit from no ghosts. He’d slap on a pair of earbuds and blast…idk, something super loud (Slipknot??) to drown out the noise
· Allison- Diego- badass, knife-wielding, action star Allison??? Do I need to say more?
· Klaus- Five- our boy still travels his ass to Vietnam and meets Dave but before he dies, he zaps them back to present, safe and sound, and happy as they deserve to be
· Five- Vanya- uhh, this AU has him sorta-kinda-totally dead (that’s why he still looks 13) but imagine this little murder machine, who is technically 30 years old, following Diego around and making remarks on his poor life decisions the whole time (and helping him solve cases ofc)
· Ben- Allison- he doesn’t really use his power much. He has learned to think carefully before using it so when he does everybody knows shit hit the fan
· Vanya- Luther- just. tiny Vanya being able to bench press literally everyone and everything and random people being like “???How????”
Bonus (aka a measly bit of plot I came up with for this):
Five and Reginald get into an argument during which Five lashes out (much like Vanya did in the series). Reginald decided to medicate him but fucks up and ends up killing him. Now pissed AND dead, Five tells Diego what happened and he tells the rest of their siblings and their mom. Long story short, they kill Reginald and live happily ever after.
@umbrellaacadnetflix , @27-umbrellas , and I ( @catchingfeelingslikeitsacold aka tua-as-vines) have decided that Wednesday May 27th at 12pm pst and 3pm est will be our first Netflix Party! I will provide the link about ten minutes before are we meant to start. I was thinking we could watch the first two episodes. Maybe the first three? That is if people have time to spare. Then after, if you guys still want, I’ll send out a link to a zoom meeting where we will introduce ourselves and talk about whatever we want! There will probably be another post to remind you guys.
Until then, stay safe!
i made a post recently about how luther's four-year soirée on the moon was actually long-term solitary confinement and thus torture and could explain his actions during season one—
(—and yes i know five had it way worse but he also at least had time to adjust and get used to being around people again while he worked for the commission, whilst luther ended his four-year long solitary upon finding out that his father died, and was then immediately thrown back into the thick of things with a whole murder conspiracy and the sudden threat of the apocalypse, and—)
—but that doesn't even go into the fact that he was the only member of the academy who was permanently and severely disfigured due to their work as the umbrella academy.
no wonder he was so determined to defend the umbrella academy—because if not, then what was it all for.
he was permanently disfigured (he has the body of a fucking ape) and he may or may not have lost his powers (he threw a guy through a third-story window at thirteen years old and was completely unfazed after intentionally falling through the fucking ceiling—i don't care how skilled hazel is, there's no way he could defeat luther at full strength—super-strength and durability is his whole thing)
and sure vanya was drugged for years and five was reverted back to a child, but neither of those things are permanent, and five's issue has nothing to do with hargreeves
but luther? he has the body of a fucking ape.
hargreeves turned him into a fucking ape and then shipped him off to the fucking moon for four years straight of torture via extreme solitary confinement.
and you wanna tell him that was all for nothing?
that it wasn't worth it because his father wasn't who he said he was and none of what they were doing was actually saving the world?
i'd be in denial, too—holding onto the idea that it meant something, that it happened for a reason—that it was worth it.
jesus.
sorry for hating on you, luther, and belittling what happened to you :(
Im finally doing it- i'm finalky watching umbrella academy. And it all because of your Klaus reblog and art. Whatever happens to me im blaming you

“You’ll get used to it,” Ben said gently.
There was nothing about this that Eudora could see herself getting used to. She knew that Diego’s dead brother was trying to help her, but how was she supposed to be taking this? She was dead. Eudora was dead.
“I know it sucks,” Klaus offered, “But hey. You’ve got options, here. It’s kind of complicated, but I can try to explain.”
Eudora nodded, “Okay.”
“You can move on to whatever afterlife you believe in if you want,” Klaus explained, “Basically just by believing it. Or if you don’t want to, you can stick around and haunt the living. You can’t affect the physical world, but you can go around stalking your loved ones until they join you, like some people.”
Ben’s swat went right through his brother’s arm, “You know you’d be lost without me.”
Klaus shrugged, “Fair.”
“I’m his impulse control,” Ben explained, “All of it. If I wasn’t around to look out for this loser, he’d have joined us a long time ago.”
“I’m not totally helpless!”
“Are to!”
“Am not!”
As the brothers bickered, Eudora tried not to throw up. Could ghosts even throw up? She was having a panic attack, here, and in life she hadn’t even had anxiety.
“I can’t do this right now,” she managed to gasp out before running, straight through the wall outside. The outside air didn’t make a difference.
“Eudora! Hey, Eudora, wait!”
Ben was following her, which didn’t make sense. Eudora hadn’t known him when he was alive. She hadn’t even met Diego yet when he died. Why would he want to help her?
“Eudora!”
Eudora finally managed to stop running, trying to calm down as she found herself in the middle of an empty street.
Ben wasn’t panting from chasing her. Ghosts didn’t need to breathe.
“Hey, I know how scary this can be,” he said gently, “Believe me. I know. I went through this, too. It’s disorienting at first. But you’re not alone, here. You’ve got me and Klaus to help you through this. If you want, I can convince my doofus brother to give Diego a message for you. Not sure if he’ll listen, since he’s still grieving, but...”
If possible, that made Eudora feel even worse. Her friends. Her family. Everyone thought she was dead, because she was. She’d left her family behind.
And Diego probably thought this was his fault. He probably blamed himself for not getting to her fast enough.
“It gets better,” Ben pressed, “Eventually, you get used to watching from the outside. You stop seeing it as just a curse.”
“What else could it be?” Eudora snapped.
“You get a chance to watch over the people you love,” Ben said, “You can’t talk to them, but you get to see all their accomplishments. You can see them learn. Watch them grow. And eventually... maybe you get the opportunity to let them know that you never really left them.”
Eudora took a deep breath, or what passed for one as a ghost.
“I’m going to stay and watch over the people I love.”
“Okay,” Ben agreed, “If that’s what you want.”
“I’m going to wait for a chance to tell them how much I love them.”
“Okay. I’ll be right here with you. Need a hug?”
Eudora chuckled, “I wouldn’t say no.”
To be honest, that hug from her boyfriend-ish’s super nice dead brother made everything feel a bit better.
