“If you are not attracted to an individual, because the individual has a trait, that’s okay”
@whumploversanonymous I found it
“I’ve been quite lucky in that I’ve managed to tick off a few of my dream roles, really. Beyond that, you wait for the next script to come in that will have the dream role that you don’t know exists yet, I suppose.”
Happy Birthday David Tennant! (April 18th, 1971)
Not sure if I did the meme right but I wanted to say something.
On a more serious note, I’d like to address the things mentioned here.
First of all, Jodie Whittaker as the 13th doctor. I personally have not seen her seasons yet so I can’t speak on the quality of them. However I have seen people say that they don’t enjoy Chris Chibnall’s writing, which is perfectly fine. But if you are upset because she’s a woman, that’s extremely sexist. It makes perfect sense the Time Lords would have a different sense of gender than humans, and this has even been illustrated with Missy. On that note, why are most of you okay with The Master having a female incarnation but not The Doctor? Is it because you can’t handle the title character being a woman? If you do have criticisms of her, please make sure it’s nothing you wouldn’t also say about one of the men playing The Doctor.
Moving on to Noel Clarke. If you don’t know already, he had his BAFTA suspended after being accused by 20 different women of sexual assault. You can read more about it in this Guardian article (though it is a difficult read). I know a lot of us hold Mickey close to our hearts so this is hard for us to accept. But cases like this, innocent until proven guilty isn’t something that can apply, especially with so many people speaking out. We can’t let our pre-existing fondness for him and his characters get in the way of having him face the appropriate consequences for his actions.
Finally, I’d like to talk about John Barrowman and the problems that have recently been discussed in light of the Noel Clarke allegations. I’m not going to go too in detail, but I highly recommend you read this post and click the links to fully understand everything. As you have probably seen, castmates have mentioned his inappropriate behavior, doing things such as putting his dick on Eve Myles without her consent. Though these instances are mostly joked about, it’s unclear who genuinely found it funny and who just laughed along for the sake of their reputation or even career. The reason he has been able to get away with all of this, and even joke about it publicly without consequence, is largely because he’s gay. It’s extremely important for us to understand that no matter what your sexuality, you are still capable of sexually harassing anyone of any gender and we can’t use his sexuality as an excuse to defend him.
Two types of British people: BAFTA edition
Sherlock - ‘Breathing is Boring’
The ninth doctor is the best because he’s Spock and Howl. I can’t explain it in words but I made a diagram:

Pre-ruffle, mid-ruffle, and post-ruffle Tenth Doctor Hair
David Tennant from the podcast commentary for Tooth and Claw (from the hair-messing-up scene above):
“I love the way Euros [Lyn, director] uses all these shots here to show the ideas all colliding at once
…and I love messing with my hair in moments like this, because it gives Steve, who does my make-up, a nightmare in continuity terms.
I like to keep him on his toes.”
