The Veil

here's a bunch of the thumbnails I made for this one! It took me a little while to decide between above the water VS underwater, but I knew I wanted to focus on the sun and the surface of the ocean. I felt like I had a clearer idea for underwater with the corals, so that's the one I went with. I'd like to revisit some of these other concepts some day

(the cool journal I decided to use for this does not actually have watercolor paper and I'm too emotionally devastated by the damage I've done to the page I was working on to fix the mess I've made right now)

I'll try to get it posted tomorrow, along with the next one, but we'll see how that goes!

In the meanwhile, here's a picture of said cool journal I've been using. Pretty fun to work in, tragic limitations aside

This possibly took me 10+ hours to make? It was split between multiple days and I wasn't really keeping track of time so idk exactly how long but it was a while! I really enjoyed it though it's fun making art that moves :D

Since I recently posted a picture of my most recently completed sketchbook cover, here's a pic of the sketchbook before that. I'd just started trying watercolors in this sketchbook, and I really wanted to incorporate them into the sketchbook somehow. So I took a page from the book and sketched my design, cut the paper into the shapes I wanted, painted the character in with acrylics, painted the field around them with watercolor, and then added the flowers with acrylics on top.

I really love this one, it makes me happy when I look at it ^^

I recently read the short Rosemary fanfic "To Touch The Stars", and it inspired me to make fanart!

The Rose & bouquet design come directly from the images in the fic, Kanaya is my own interpretation. Please check out the fic, it's great and you can see the cool original art!
