I LOVE IT side order smollusk I'VE NEVER SEEN THIS BEFORE mutants and masterminds okay tangent time The character I'm playing in an indie RPG called Mutants and Master is a giant pacific octopus who was taken from the ocean by aquarium researchers as a baby and who later became this novelty aquarium's star exhibit performing tricks in a giant tank near the center The ttrpg is called Mutants and Masterminds because everyone's special abilities are superpowers So the octopus named Andy developed psychic communication and teleportation powers after a mysterious scientific trial that he barely remembers.

I think the Nests still make sense with the Slykids being more wild than the ancestor spirits and elders, because it is a nest after all. They're like birds coming home with trinkets to make into a protected space before heading back into the world, their nests are just more elaborate.
