It's been a while since I posted here so here are wips of drawings that I've already finished so you can get an idea of what I'm going to post someday 🫴

Oh yea, Waterlilyshipping, Piers and the Stow-on-Side Duo all in the same Art dump I'm making... As I mentioned before, I finished these drawings a few days ago, I just haven't posted it yet because I'm missing a drawing of my Swsh ocs lolololol

Drawing Nessa's hair was SO FUCK1NG HARD, I know it's not the first time I've drawn her but MY GOD WHY IS IT SO HARD???? (but meh I still love her and her farmer boyfriend :3 💚💙)

This doesn't just apply to Bea and Allister's drawing but to all 3 of them, and what would that be? Literally CASINO ADVERTISEMENTS APPEARING TO ME (and now I have an absolute hatred for those, ugh)

The way Astral develops emotions through the show is one of my favourite aspects of Zexal (if not my favourite, because I love him). At first, he didn't know what emotions were. He observed them without even considering that he might feel something like that. Yet, the more he experienced on Earth, the more he changed, slowly, but he changed: he learned to smile, to fear, to cry and to hope, all the types of emotions he felt have combine into his essence, without completely changing it.

Because Astral never becomes particularly open with his emotions, his personality remains calm and collected, like at the start of the show, yet developing into something more than that as all the emotions he had collected had made him grown.

His growth is slow and sometimes subtle, but you can see how much he had changed just by looking at him: the way he moves, his tone of voice, his eyes (that are very expressive most of the time, it's like they could speak for themselves), little details that can bet missed, but are very dear to me.

He has been paralyzed by the fear, he has been happy to be considered a friend, he lost himself to the pain and anger, he cried for sadness and happiness, and he learned to love with all himself.

And he did all this in his own way. He made those emotions really his own.

I'm currently kicking my feet over Kabu so here's some headcanons about him

Kabu is close to 5'4 (~164cm), but he's still a bit heavy to pick up. (He's very compact.)

He used to be a lot lighter when he first started out as a gym leader, though this is seen in his concept art. He still has some muscle on him then but it was much leaner than what it is now.

He's goes to sleep a bit later in the night, closer to 9 or 10pm, but always wakes up closer to 3 or 4am so he can go on a morning jog. (If he's not feeling good this usually gets pushed to maybe 5-7am.)

He "rests his eyes" a few times per day and denies falling asleep.

He eats a bit more given how much he works out, and his go to meals are packed with meat and veg, usually stuff that's from Hoenn. (He has a penchant for radishes.)

He also likes eating seafood and considers it beneficial to his diet.

Extra tie in for his food is it's usually ridiculously spicy. This is the same man who's sponsored by a hot pot restaurant, so he can handle spice. (He also considers it "a workout with a meal" too.)

He doesn't care about gender in the people he dates, though he's not the fondest of flings anymore. By this point he's kind of looking for someone to be with, but he's not the greatest within the dating scene. (Awkwardness is a big factor here.)

He visits hot springs pretty frequently so he doesn't get stiff after working out, and so he can just have a few minutes of peace to himself.

He's grown fond to Centiskorch to the point he has a bunch of little Sizzlipedes he's raising, which may or may not have come from his Centiskorch.

When he was younger, he was a bit more on the cocky side, he wasn't a terrible person he just got a bit full of himself sometimes, and with age he's mellowed out. (Still gets frustrated though and, shown before, he motivates others when frustrated.)

He has a few tattoos, most of not all relating to Fire-type Pokémon. (I like to think he has a sleeve on either arm of his Arcanine and Ninetales.)

He wears sporty clothes a lot just cuz they're comfy to him, but he also has a good mix of regular clothes and "old man" clothes. (Main example is sweaters and polos. He's used to the old man comments by now and doesn't care.)

He has glasses, and they're not just reading glasses; he's nearsighted, and he chooses to wear contacts a lot. (Either that or he just doesn't care and doesn't wear them, his vision isn't horrid but it isn't great either.)

He both does and doesn't understand social media. He understands consuming content he doesn't understand making content though. (And one time managed to drop his phone into some soup he made because he was trying to take a picture.)

He likes reading about legendary Pokémon, and also has a secret collection of old manga he likes (and a hidden stash of romance novels and uh, certain types of magazines too.)

As someone who loves seeing family dynamics in fiction, Yugioh Zexal came for my fucking throat.

There's Yuma, who misses his parents and lives with his grandma and older sister, who looks up to his father as a sort of idol and chooses to sleep in the attic with all the stuff brought back from their adventures because he still misses them so much.

There's Shark, who lost his parents as a child and then had to deal with his twin sister Rio ending up comatose in the hospital. Shark and Rio bicker and go at each other, but hurt one and you Will have the other coming for you.

There's Kaito, whose whole focus was on helping his younger brother Haruto recover, even if it meant damning himself in the process. He sacrifices his own well being via Photon Change time and time again for Haruto's sake, and puts up with so much from his shitty father, all for his baby brother.

And then there's the Arclights. The family patriarch Byron was betrayed and came back years later swearing revenge, using his sons as pawns in his scheme. The boys are also messed up, between V's emotional distance, IV's sadistic tendencies, and III's self sacrificial desperation to protect his family no matter the cost. And yet, the three brothers do still care about each other despite it all, remaining loyal to their broken little family despite knowing their position.

Zexal was so good on that front. It's one of my favourite YGO series.
