I don't see enough people mourning over the slow death of physical media. And I don't just mean TV shows, video games, or movies--which don't even get me started about how we don't really 'own' anything anymore. It includes notes, journals, and letters to one another...so much of our history is lost when we lose a password, a website goes down, a file/hardware is corrupted, or a platform disappears. History that doesn't seem important until you no longer have access to it. Physical media does a lot for memory recall. How many memories will we lose because we don't have something tangible to tie it back to? Something to hold in our hands and stir up those memories we thought were once lost? Sometimes I wonder what the difference between burning a book and losing access to physical media is when someone can pull the plug and remove your access so easily.

I don't know why I didn't play pokemon go when it came out but I recently decided to give it a try and it's kinda fun (so far) but also, as someone who missed 8 years of content... you're telling me they had accesibility features in 2020... and decided to remove them?? Like I enjoy playing a little when I'm already forced to leave the house for something (like work or appointments), but I live in the middle of nowhere and I am not going to travel around every day for missions and if you don't, then you don't get items (which you run out of pretty fast) which means you have to pay real money so fast for so many things? I don't understand?

Like I thought this would be a pretty casual game that gave you the option to do missions and routes for special rewards but you're pretty much just forced to do some things if you want to make any progress and I don't see myself continue playing for very long like this. I'll most likely burn out in a week or two and never touch it again, and I can't imagine many disabled players still play? Like as a company, that decision just doesn't make any sense? You made your game more accessible which meansxmore people can play and then you just... remove it??? Huh??

Some of my favourite media rn are The Raven Cycle, The Dreamer trilogy and also the Revolutionary Girl Utena anime and I came to the conclusion that I just really love media that bases it magic system and worldbuilding and general storytelling on the characters and their development. Like, the magic most of the time doesn't really make any sense (or only if you don't pay attention) and sometimes random new things will just happen, except it's actually not that random, it's just that the character needed to be in a specific situation and/or make a specific decision, and so they were put in that situation, or it was for symbolism. Like, I have so much respect for authors that put a lot of effort and thought intomaking the worldbuilding or magic make sense and all, but personally i love stories for the characters, and I can't care less for stories with great magic systems that don't mean anything because the characters only exist for the exposition. Like, I love love love thinking back to when some teens went into a cave and made a bunch of animal skeletons come to life and then contemplating how they came out of the cave changed as people and we never talk about the skeletons again and it never happens again (TRC), or how some teens were dueling with swords on top of a tower in the backyard of their school and then some teens just drove cars around the duel (RGU) and contemplating on the symbolism of the scene.

I don't know if this makes sense but these are peak character driven storylines to me. I eat them up and dream about them when I finally manage to go to sleep.

If anyone knows any more stories told like this please comment I need more

Like... I was so prepared for the story to be even more of 'everyone wants to, has or will kill each other'. I was not prepared for the 'all these immortals have fucked each other' part to also become important to the actual plot??

This whole Elriel and Gwynriel debate has turned into a very messy, toxic, and violent capture-the-flag event with every single word SJM has ever written, and it's both very upsetting and exhausting. The complete lack of respect for other people in the fandom just because they believe different theories or ship a different couple or whatever is ridiculous. Please just chill. If you find yourself mad enough to send unwarranted hate to a random artist because they made fun fanart of a couple you don't ship, maybe you need a glass of water and some food. Redirect that energy into taking care of yourself instead of tearing down others for no reason.
