I've seen some people saying that Muriel is annoying, shallow, one-dimensional, etc because of their sunshiney attitude. But those people are missing the point that Muriel isn't happy and sparkly because of a lack of depth as a character - it's actually evidence of how deeply abused and traumatized they are.
Look at the barely concealed sadness on their face when they refer to themself as "no one." Heaven treats them horribly, but they have to just smile and pretend it's fine. Because they're an angel, so what other choice do they have? They've been talked down to and told that they're unimportant for thousands of years. That they're beneath literally all of the other angels, just a 37th order scrivener, a nobody.
And so in order to cope with the horrific way that they're treated, they hide all of their emotions and trauma behind a cheerful mask. But if you look at how they act around the Archangels - how terrified they are to even approach Michael and Uriel, you can see how truly abused they are, and the pain and fear that they're hiding.
The other reason for their over-the-top cheerfulness is that they're so incredibly lonely. They've probably never had a friend - every couple hundred years someone comes and asks them a question, and that's it.
The poor thing has basically been kept in solitary confinement for thousands of years, of course they're going to be thrilled to speak to anyone at all, much less actually get to leave their desk and go to earth. Their sheer delight at everything on earth isn't just them being ditzy - it's the first time they've ever experienced anything other than the cold emptiness of heaven. The first time they've been allowed a tiny break from the horrible way that they're treated by the other angels.
Poor Muriel is so desperate for connection and validation that they're so excited to be needed, even after being called "the dim one" to their face. They hardly even reacted, it definitely wasn't their first time being called something like that.
All in all, Muriel is just like every single one of us who smiles through pain and loneliness and abuse, because we have no other choice. It doesn't mean that they're shallow and airheaded, or that they're any less traumatized than Crowley and Aziraphale. It means that they've learned that smiling is the only way to survive, because they're trapped in a heaven that feels like hell.
Shout out to robots that exist as part of a massive facility. Gotta be one of my favourite genders.

HAPPY HEADCANON DAY!!!! (Yeah it's me again hiii.š)
remember we talked about the relationship between Willy and pineapple in their past? So, these guys have an amazing dynamic, and one of these ādynamic fragmentsā is the idea that Willy used to suffer from either high social anxiety or something, but in a crowd of people he was almost literally suffocating, he could be overwhelmed with panic, so much so that in this state he couldn't speak or even move sometimes without help. and of course, pineapple, like a good friend, seeing that Willy not okay at all, always took him by the hand and led him out of the crowd of people, after which he calmed him down if necessary. Over time, such attacks passed; now, among a large number of people, Willy feels only a slight anxiety.
In general, it seems to me that Willy often needs help to come to his senses. He looks like a nervous person, with a very precarious condition. at moments of the game, literally anything can throw him out of this fragile balance. the line between complete madness and sanity is almost erased, sometimes he behaves adequately, very much so (although in absolutely calm moments there is something that reveals his mental problems), but any wrong step and he will fall into madness. It is often simply impossible to know in advance what this āwrong stepā will be.
One last thing. . . maybe Willy suffers from OCD???? doesn't seem to contradict canon, besides, I think that most of his problems stem from cruel, obsessive thoughts. the appearance of such thoughts and their content is not only the merit of OCD, but it is OCD that can make them dangerous. in general, his condition is rather a combination of mental and other problems. . .

If you've seen WALL-E, I'd be extremely curious for your thoughts if you haven't already shared them. Actually, I have a few movies I'd love your opinion on, but I'm not gonna keep ya all day. Thank you for your content! :)
I love WALL-E. It's a cool idea, that the whole movie is about what it means to be human, but from the perspective of a robot.
I think it's very straightforward, and there's not a lot of stuff to analyze, which is good! He's this robot that's "developed a personality" but what he's really becoming is human.
And the movie is saying that being human is liking things, taking risks, being vulnerable, and most importantly taking care of things. As in, caring for things that need you. Even if it means you don't survive or get to be as comfortable.
WALL-E preserves the stuff he has an interest in instead of junking it, but remember, he takes care of that little cockroach. He carefully organizes all his things. He fixes what's broken. That's what humans were placed on Earth to do: have dominion over it. Take care of it. Cultivate the land, order the animals.
And instead we use it all to make ourselves more comfortable.
Not WALL-E, though! And he teaches that to everybody else.
The only things I struggle with, with WALL-E, are the repeated "Directive" themes. Like, what you're made for isn't what you should be. You could say WALL-E is all about being what makes you happy.
I disagree with that. That worldview is no good. What makes you happy changes from moment to moment, and it usually comes at the expense of other people and what you, yourself, need to be good and healthy. But you could argue that that's how the humans in WALL-E got to be blobs in chairs that abandon their planet, so my beef with those themes aren't very strong.
You could just argue that the narrative is saying, WALL-E, who was created to put waste in its proper place, is still doing that. He's just doing it in a deeper, better, more correct way than all the other robots. He puts waste in its proper place, but by doing that, he also protects the things that are worthwhile and shouldn't be wasted.
And in that same train of thought, EVE is so focused on collecting and delivering the one sign of life that makes Earth worth living for--that's her directive. But it turns out, WALL-E is the one sign of life that makes Earth worth living for, because of the example he sets. That example of finding joy in hard work and protecting things that are worth protecting.
I also think, if WALL-E were released right now, in 2024, it would not be well-liked or accepted. Because people would get their feathers ruffled by the idea that we're all headed toward being blobs who can't see past our own comfort. And they'd accuse the movie of "body shaming," that kind of junk. Then again, the same people who are worried about that are also worried about that great big topic we call "the environment," and WALL-E cleverly set itself up to be championing "the environment," so maybe it would've shielded itself. Either way, I think the movie was very brave to say, "yeah, hey, we're super lazy and self-satisfying and obsessed with our own comfort, and this is the dystopia it could lead us to."
And MO is my favorite.
And love, too. Anyway. Yes, I love WALL-E! And hey! Ask me about any movies you want! I don't get that many of these questions, and I really like thinking them through and trying to verbalize them, so please do! And thank you for this question.
you know what? I donāt care (almost) what kind of response there will be. this is a crossover. Rain World and LfL, how do you like this? I donāt know how to draw, but I love making clay figures and writing, so Iāll try to explain everything with that. I really hope that at least someone will be interested.
I wonāt go into details, one of the types of animals that inhabit the Rain World is slugcats. Slugcats are playable characters. These wonderful creatures look like this:
I made Willy-slugcat. that's it.
All slugcats have something like a name, for example, the purple one is called Spearmaster, and the green one is called Saint. The big chubby one's name is Gourmand.
Willy would be called Pretender. His peculiarity is wearing masks that can be obtained from dangerous predators. These masks can be used to scare away other predators. Another property of the Pretender is that he can imitate the sounds of predators larger and more dangerous than the slugcat (for example, the hissing and bubbling of lizards).
It seemed to me that this mechanic was very suitable when we are talking about Willy Mack. . .
It is how slugcat with mask looks like!
I'll move on to Willy. this cutie silly boi:
admit that you fell for this cute, harmless face. . . but this is still the same Willy, who can only be satisfied with meat. he is agile, resistant to falls from great heights, fast, dexterous, and very resourceful. he has a torn ear, the tip of his tail is missing (someone bit it off), he is always covered in scratches and scars. lives on the Sky Islands - a region densely populated with a wide variety of living creatures. One of his weaknesses is that he is a poor swimmer, he quickly gets tired of swimming, but he doesnāt need to swim where he lives.
BTW he's VERY associative slugcat, so he does not squeak and meow like them, he didn't have a chance to learn. His only interactions are hisses and short ābarks.ā just watch how cats sometimes bark and you will understand what I mean.
Most likely neither LfL fans nor RW fans will watch this. well. . . In any case, I wanted to share my work.
I'm just gonna leave this here
