Recently finished S3 of Castelvania and goddamn is it a hit to the gut. The season started out with a more hopeful, cheerful tone and then the last 3 episodes really go for the jugular. I’m very excited to see where these characters end up in season 4.
Trevor & Sypha are more traumatized than ever. Sypha especially, having experienced this level of trauma for the first time *potentially* and Trevor regressing into his old ways of thinking
Alucard is feeling used, alone, and vengeful. Trying to make friends and striving to be like his mom and then getting used while the most vulnerable.
Hector is a slave/pet. The one thing he understood and tried to push humanity into he himself has become.
Issac is the only one to have come out winning this season, being such a great representation of a morally grey poc character. I’m honestly rooting for him tbh
If Ash ever comes back in the anime I hope that he’s 1) Aged up with the time skip and 2) I think he deserves a new team to celebrate.
I would want him to be a mentor figure for Liko, Roy, and Dot. A sort of older brother figure and obstacle for them to overcome. He’s sort of their “Leon” and could fill the role of Juliana/Florian from the games. Due to the show taking place after the events of the game we can say that Ash already traveled through Paldea. If so, here’s the team I would give him.
1) Pikachu- Goes without saying, would love to see him face Cap
2) koraidon- He traveled with him while going around Paldea and is his “boss” legendary. Similar to Liko’s Terapagos and Roy’s “assumed” Rayquaza.
3) Dudunspace (3-segment) Ash has never been able to catch a dunsparce, and what better that to give him the rare 3-segment form to show what the world champion can do. The sleep “rowlet” type Pokemon of the team.
4) Annihilape- I imagine we went back and found his old Primeape, evolving it into a beast of a fighter.
5) Ogerpon- Ash experienced the events of the DLC, having a rivalry with Kieran over Ogerpon choosing to travel with Ash. She’s sweet and offers an adorable factor to the team.
6) Mega Lucario- the only other returning Pokemon, Ash’s lucario can serve as a mentor to Roy’s shiny lucario.
Look at how incredible this is! I cannot wait to get this in person and actually read it. I know that the audio book is also going to go so hard *just like they all do*
Plus it’s going to be 500+ pages…..we are so not ready for what this book is about to bring. With everything, I know it’s gonna be a rollercoaster from start to finish.
I’ve been keeping up with the High Republic since it was first announced and seeing these characters grow and change has been such an emotional/fulfilling journey. It’s gunna be hard to say goodbye to these characters for awhile. I’m gunna miss em so much. Avar, Elzar, Stellan, Vernestra, Marchion, Bell, Keevee, Xylan Graff, Marda, Kevmo, Loden, Imri, and Gavi all of you will have my heart forever 🫶🏽🫶🏽😭
Really excited about this new manga that was announced recently!
Knowing that we’re finally getting more stories set in the sequel era is exciting and it will be interesting to see someone so disconnected from the Jedi try and piece together what it means to be a Jedi knight.
Rey had Luke, Leia, and the ancient Jedi texts and she now has the tools to guide the new generation.
Plus connecting the high republic to this era works soooo well thematically. The Jedi of this era were more open to change and operated more freely within the republic and I think that Rey’s new Jedi order could return back to these roots while adding more layers of growth. And that potential “dark sider” behind her could be trying to learn about the sith of the past and trying to emulate that, and taking the wrong lessons from their failures and this leading to his own defeat.
Very excited to pick this story up!
Took a break from Star Wars for a bit after The Acolyte and had the pleasure of exploring some other fandoms for while
Now that I’m divining back in there’s so much more high republic media I gotta catch up with in 2025
Looking forward to to how much joy and ✨Trauma✨ that the High Republic gives me
I will forever defend Wraith Arc and I wanted to expand on my thoughts for a labyrinth for Magia Exedra.
Obviously the wraiths would be basic enemies and, as we work through each level the wraiths level up as well. We could start fighting the basic wraith, then acolyte wraiths-Enlightenment Wraiths-Deliverance Wraiths. The final boss of the level could be the Spindle Witch.
We’ve never gotten to see the spindle witch in color and that’s a fucking crime. Suleika looks SO GOOD in the game and I think the spindle witch deserves that some treatment.
They should run a Kioku banner for Bow-Homura and Wraith-Madoka “Wraithdoka”. For Homura I’m think she should remain as a dark-attribute attacker but with a different skill. And Wraith Madoka should be a Void-attribute debuffer. Those seem like the best options in my opinion but feel free to disagree.
I finally got a a hard copy of Wraith Arc and rereading it has me excited for the potential for finally seeing it appear and hey, I didn’t make it to Magia Record so here’s our chance!
Kinda niche but I hope that we get a cool moment for master Xo Lahru by the end of phase 3. He’s 1 of only 4 cannon grandmasters we have so far and I would love to know more about him.
Pra-Tre veter got such a badass end to his character fitting of a grandmaster, having an incredible show of strength in the shadows of starlight comic. We’ve also gotten to know him and his personally quite well in the Yoda comics and shadows of starlight, while also having a historic death that really impacted me while reading it.
That Fight scene in Shadows of starlight will forever live rent free in my head tbh. And the armor he wears is top notch, and I’ll always be a Master Veter defender
I think Pra-Tre really had the “grandmaster aura” and I hope we get the some love for Lahru and Ry Ki-Sakka because they have such cool designs and I don’t want that potential to be wasted
Happy May the Fourth!!! I hope everyone is doing well during these insane times we’re living in lol. We got the new “Tales of the Underworld” today and it was an overall good experience. I’d say that I enjoyed Tales of the Empire/Jedi more but it was still pretty good.
First up the the Asajj Ventress story, overall I’d give it a 8/10. Seeing her break out of her old habits and grow to be a better mentor/eventual Jedi was nice and I really think it layed the groundwork well for her story moving forward.
Lyco was a cool addition and his dynamic with ventress was fun, reminded me of Ahsoka’s rapport with Asajj during the Clone Wars. The Native/Non-Binary rep was also great, really cool seeing people like me in the Star Wars Universe.
Oh- and Quinlon’s new model was GORGEOUS and in begging lucasfilm to use him more in the Maul show.
I’m also a HUGE inquisitor fan so seeing the new inquisitor actually put up a fight in EP 1 was cool to see. I feel like they’ve learned there lesson and really allowed him to shine. I’m hoping that he gets more development in the future and it won’t take years for him to get an official designation.
He’s lowkey the strongest inquisitor after the Grand Inquisitor if you think about it. I think Marrok, Trilla, and Iskat. are the only ones that really compare.
The Cade Bane story was cool, not exactly something I feel like we “needed” but it gave a nice backstory for him that we probably wouldn’t have been able to get anywhere else. Which really should be the point of the “Tales-Of” series.
His story was tragic but I see how his choices really pushed him into the person he became. He had a rough past but he choose to became the monster he is today. I really enjoyed his friend and connected with him and the twist at the end I absolutely DID NOT see coming. I really hope we see Bane’s son in the future somehow. I could see him returning in Maul’s new show.
Overall it was a good time and I’ve really enjoyed the tradition of having either Visions/Tale-Of every year for May the 4th. I’m looking forward to how all the loose ends from Tales of the Empire, Bad Batch, and Jedi-Fallen Order series all tie in moving forward.
Seeing the Celebration Announcement for “The Ronin” has been hyped for more Visions figures down the road.
First off, the quality of the packaging itself, and then the wired soft-goods robe and droid really delicate the figure. This is what Black Series figures should be, and hopefully we’ll get to S.H figurearts levels of quality & accessories. I’m technically a vintage collection collector but i definitely pick up Black Series figures if they really strike me.
I’d love to see more Visions figures get made in both scales.
F is from my favorite Visions EP in the whole series and I desperately need a figure of her. Lop & her droid would be a unique sculpt for the line while Juro is just such a badass and would look great on the shelf. And finally, The Bandit Leader Kuro is a must so we can display her battling the Ronin.
From S2, Aau and the Sith Mother both have very different but incredibly unique designs while the Jedi & Sith from “Journey to The Dark Head” are such a perfect pair. That Sith design is so dark & sleek, imagine that chain lightsaber on the shelf!
My hopes are that we get a Celebration announcement of a High Republic figure that has such grand packaging like this. An Avar, Stellan, or Marchion would be a ✨Dream✨ collection item and would cap off the publishing event in a nice way I think.
So, I’m very excited for the new Kylo Ren/Ben Solo comic and to see what he was up to between TLJ and TROS. There’s a lot of room to explore his mindset during this year; seeing how we felt about Rey, Luke's death, and his place in the galaxy/First Order.
It’s come out that Kylo will be hunting down a survivor of Order-66 in this comic *Just 1 not a whole group* and I wanted to throw my hat in the ring and guess which Jedi that It will be and rank the likelihood of them appearing.
As a Prelude: I’m okay with there still being a few Jedi around during this era. In Legends there were Jedi that survived from the prequels well past Luke and George Lucas himself had plans of incorporating them into a potential sequel trilogy.
Also- who knows if it’ll be an actual Jedi that we’ve met. It could be a brand new jedi or a force sensitive who survived the galactic purge. With that said, let's get started!
Coleman Kcaj- One of the last surviving members of the Jedi High Council, we know that Kcaj had survived Order-66 and went into hiding. He was a high priority target for the Inquisitor but to our knowledge was never found. He’s only been a background character at this point so it would be nice to give him some spotlight. 6/10
Oppo Rancisis- Another member of the High Council that’s served on the council since the High Republic, it would be nice to find out what happened to him. My only hesitation is that he's been mentioned in Jedi: Survivor and it may be more likely that we see him appear in the 3rd game instead. 4/10
Lyn Rackish (4th Sister)- At the end of TOTE Lyn left the Empire behind, rejoining Barriss in the light and attempting to save her life. I assume she may have joined the Hidden Path and aided in saving other force sedatives. Seeing a former darksider who;s joined the light could offer some good story beats for Kylo. 7/10
Quinlan Vos- A powerful and popular Jedi master, fans have been clambering to see Quinlan make his grand return to Canon. As much as i would love to see him again I find it more likely that we see him appear in a hidden path show or comic will Ventress. 2/10
Tsui Choi- a Aleen Jedi who appeared in multiple Legends comics, he survived Order-66 and aided a group of Jedi to assassinate Darth Vader. He hasn’t appeared in Canon yet and it could be a nice spotlight for him. 6/10
Gungi- A Jedi youngling who we saw grow as a jedi in the Clone Wars, he befriended the Bad Batch after Order-66 and went to live on his home planet. Gungi (or any other of the young;ings) would be nice to see again but this doesn’t feel like the right medium for that. 1/10
Reva Sevander (3rd Sister)- My top pick to appear and meet Ben tbh. She’d be quite old at this point but there are so many lessons I think Kylo could learn from her. They both have a direct link to Vader and learn to grow past their darkness. Give her a white lightsaber PLEASE! 7/10
Sha Koon- A keldor Jedi Knight & the niece of Plo Koon, Sha managed to survive Vader’s attack on the Temple and went into hiding. Later trying to assassinate Vader in an attempt to cripple the new regime. It would be a nice way to introduce her into canon and there could be potential for future stories down the line. 5/10
Bultar Swan- We haven’t seen much of Bultar Swan in canon. She briefly appears in AOTC and we know Plo Koon finished her training after her master's death. In legends she’s another survivor of Order-66 that goes on to face Vader and it would be nice to see her make a full return to canon storytelling. 6/10
Very excited to see more acolyte merch, and we're finally getting our first official "figure" of the stranger!
I think things like this are important, characters like Torbin and Aniseya probably won't get much merch so getting things like this in the collection is always exciting
Definitely gunna try to get 1 of each in my collection
Also- how cool would it be to get something like this for the High Republic books. Getting figures feels like a dream but something like this could be a more realistic goal and I know high republic fans would love it
Imagine a mini-Marchion, Loden, or Avar Kriss!
A phase 1 & phase 2 wave would be sick! I feel like we need something big to kick off the final wave of high republic books
