Kiki's Delivery Service (1989) redraw

just a little something I’ve been working on for a while

This is the intro:

The year was 2045. Gene editing had advanced greatly through the aid of CRISPR/Cas9 and had been legalized and approved by the United Nations. It was being utilized by scientists, doctors, and genetic researchers in order to create a new race of “superhumans,” who had abilities beyond imagination. This first generation was otherwise known as “Generation G,” which led the endeavor itself to be known as “Project: Generation G.” For a few years, people marveled at the work of the researchers. So many incurable genetic diseases that plagued the past could be prevented and therefore extended the life of an individual, not to mention the countless miraculous abilities that could be given to otherwise regular humans. 

Then, the unthinkable happened. In 2050, just five years later, one of these revered superhumans burned down a children’s residential school in Tokyo. There were no survivors. It was clear that the deed was done out of malicious intent, and that the perpetrator had accomplices. This was the spark that spread the fire of hate for superhumans among the common people. They were viewed as freaks and abominations of nature who had no place in civilized society. Such was the uproar that caused the UN to outlaw gene editing once and for all, and to eliminate all the subjects of Project: Generation G. They intended to have no survivors left to wreak havoc on humanity.

1. Do you ever wish you had different colored eyes? If so what color?

All the time lol, I wish I had either lighter brown eyes or hazel eyes because they’re really pretty.

4. If you could have any superpower what could it be and why?

Probably telepathy, because I’d get to know instantly if someone was thinking smack about me.

5. Favorite TV show?

Parks and Recreation! My favorite character is Leslie Knope :)

6. Most overplayed song on the radio in your opinion?

Really depends what genre, but if we’re talking about overplayed pop songs, I’d say No Tears Left to Cry by Ariana Grande (No hate on pop music, I do like it sometimes, but there should be a limit to how often this song is played)

7. Most memorable thing that happened to you in the last 24 hours?

Making music by blowing air across the tops of ginger ale bottles with my little brother

8. One object you MUST have at all times? (excluding necessities)

Good watercolor paper that’s also not too expensive (Preferably the Canson Heritage brand), because it’s pretty hard to find

9. What irks you to no end?

People who constantly look over my shoulder when I draw and keep asking what I’m drawing or who it is; it really breaks my creative flow and my patience. 

10. Comfort food/drink?

Biryani that my mom makes and Earl Grey tea with milk and sugar.
