He wants to feel clean again. - George can’t look in the mirror anymore. Not without remembering Fred. He smashes all mirrors in their home. He cuts his hair, he dyes it. - Neville sees Nagini in his dreams. But in his dreams it reaches Ron and Hermione before he does. - Harry has multiple wands all around his house hidden in places that only he knows. Beneath his pillow, beneath his bed, under the couch. Just in case. - Hermione’s boggart is no longer failure. - Draco and Blaise are afraid of fire. - Someone accidentally calls George “Fred” once. No one knows who starts crying first. - Headmistress Miverna Mcgonagall is fierce, powerful and kind. All first years are intimidated and amazed, she seems untouchable. However some nights she roams the school hallways and remembers every student she lost, every life that got taken away too soon, every soul that left them too early. - Harry suddenly can’t stay in very small rooms. He feels trapped, his throat starts convulsing and his eyes sting. - Hagrid still feels the weight of what he thought was Harry’s corpse in his hands. It haunts him. - Hermione, Ron and Harry had gotten so used to spending months having one small meal per day that sometimes they forget they’re supposed to eat. - Harry rolls in his sleep once and hits his forehead against the night stand on accident, when he wakes up with pain on his forehead his heart sinks and his whole body freezes. It isn’t until he sees the bruise that he’s able to calm down. Because Voldemort isn’t back. - Ron dreams that he’s back in their tent, traveling and hiding, he’s changing the radio stations and he hears Ginny’s names as one of the victims. - Molly always has “where’s Fred?” on the tip of her tongue, at all times. - Harry spends the year post-war discovering who he is, what he loves, other than the Boy-who-lived and the Savior-of-the-Wizarding-World. Because there are things he never had time to think about, never had time to experiment, never had time to experience. Sometimes he wonders if coming back had been the right choice, because it hurt so bad on some days that he couldn’t take it. - When Teddy is sad or scared and he’s crying, Harry tells him stories and shows him pictures of his parents, it’s then and only then that he calms down and his hair goes back to normal. - Harry pulls back to himself when the date of his death nears every year, his friends do everything in their power to bring him out of it. - Draco and Harry have talks about the war some nights, both saw what Voldemort was capable of, Harry in his dreams, Draco in his home. Both understand. - Luna is quirkier and weirder than ever before. She always does everything in her power to lighten up the mood in the room when the silence is bitter and mournful. It’s like she can’t stop shifting and smiling and nervously twitching and saying random facts about things no one has heard of before. Everyone knows it’s her way of coping, of staying positive. So no one minds. It’s comforting. - Harry gets the sudden desire to travel all over the world. Sometimes Ron and Hermione come with him, others he goes alone, once Neville joins him. Draco does too. - Draco starts writing, he writes thousands of words on some nights and none on others. He’s good at it, too. - Harry always, without fail, looks for Sirius’ constellation. He visits his grave too, tells him how things are going in his life, how he’s coping, how he isn’t. - Hermione getting a tattoo of blooming pastel flowers on top of her “mudblood” scar, because she’s alive, many her friends are alive and she wants to remember that.

And maybe not all is well, maybe they have scars time cannot erase, but they’re together, their hearts are still beating, so it’ll be okay. They’re going to be okay.

1. You look at a map of a city you’ve never been to. You see patterns and street names and they tell you nothing. The map remains dead, the city unknown. 2. You go to the city you’ve never been to. It becomes a city you know. 3. You look at a map of a city you’ve been to, but have left behind. As you look at the map, you remember. You are looking at nostalgia. You walk through street names and remember the taste of cake in the café whose name you forgot, but you remember its yellow walls and comfy chairs. A square is no longer four lines on a map, but an open space with people and statues and laughter and a fountain in the center. The monotonous, two-dimensional blue that indicates an ocean turns into postcard memories, so many shades of blue and green and the smell of salt and fish. The famous building with the famous name that everyone knows is now a personal experience, it is yours and yours alone in a way that will never make it anyone else’s. A billion feet have walked these (now familiar) paths and two of them were yours. You can trace the steps you have taken and you remember feelings and colours and strangers who offered you a smile. There is the hostel you slept in, there is the river you crossed so many times, there is the corner where you listened to the most amazing street musician. You fondly whisper street names that you had trouble pronouncing when you first spoke them, clumsily. You connect dots, and they turn to images in your head. The map is alive, the city an old friend. 4. The map you look at is always the same; the perception is different. It is you who has changed.

Teenagers have more intense reading experiences because they’ve had fewer of them. It’s like the first time you fall in love. You have a connection to that first person you fell in love with because it was so intense and unprecedented.

Can we talk about dad Draco?

A lot of people have been talking about Albus’ relationship with Harry, but what about Scorpius and Draco? Honestly from what I’ve read about the cursed child (I’m like halfway through) Draco is the best dad. Can you just imagine:

- when Scorpius is born, Draco promising he’ll try his best and insisting he’s the most beautiful baby he’s ever seen - Draco always willing to wake up all the times baby Scorp cries and spends hours cooing and rocking him. Even spending nights sleeping in on the couch with Scorpius on his chest - Draco teaching him an instrument - Draco and Astoria making a little concert with their house elves so Scorpius can preform with an audience - Draco feeling happy when the house elves calls Scorpius ‘master sweetie’ because he’s taught his son to be kind to everyone and humble - Draco trying to get Scorpius to make friends with other kids his age so he isn’t lonely - Draco getting heartbroken when the kids call Scorpius Voldemort’s son - Draco constantly fighting with he ministry to stop the rumours because it hurts him to see Scorpius cries - Draco being extremely worried when Scorpius goes to Hogwarts because he doesn’t want him bullied - Draco pining the first letter from Scorpius that says he’s made a friend even though he’s a Potter - Draco insisting Scorpius to invite Albus to spend the break with them - Draco making sure everything is perfect when the Potters let Albus stay over - Draco telling the boys cool stories about anything they want while making them hot cocoa - Draco tucking them both in and wishing them sweet dreams - Draco not only being there for Scorpius but being there for Albus because he knows what it’s like to feel like to not live up to your parents expectations -Draco literally knowing everything about Scorpius because his son trusts him - Draco and Scorpius bonding time is sitting in Draco’s office, with Scorpius’ feet on Draco’s lap reading in silence. Occasionally sharing lines in their books they find interesting/funny - When Astoria falls ill, Draco makes sure she and Scorpius spends everyday of the summer together - when she dies, Draco holds his son all night as he cries promising that they can get through this - Draco never crying in front of his son because he just knows how hard it is for his son to loose his mother - Draco taking Scorpius somewhere cool for Christmas so they don’t have to realize that it’s their first Christmas without Astoria - EVERYTHING HE DOES AND SAYS IN CURSED CHILD, THANK YOU VERY MUCH - Draco reminding Scorpius that no matter what he’s always there for him

SUPPORTIVE DAD DRACO IS MY FAVOURITE DRACO. HE DESERVES THE FATHER OF THE YEAR AWARD I SWEAR
