what i like about this, it shows how fcked up the school system really is. Not just millicent, but the other mogrified students too.
Like how fairies are put into school for good, and wolves for school for evil. Because they didn't fit the criteria. or rather- They were "too evil" to be good, and "too good" to be evil. It puts the kids with neutral alignment in a dangerous place.
On another note, I want this to be adressed with nicola. Will she fail and become a mogrif? will something change? is the mogrifying students going to end?
mogrifs is such a terrifying concept- considering they are literal KIDS who didn't know any better. KIDS.
idk why im making this post i just feel like there hasnt been much millicent content for a while and if im gonna have a tumblr blog dedicated to her i may as well create some
so. the thing about millicent is she barely has any canon content. shes the least fleshed out of the main evergirls, and all we really know about her at first glance is that shes a ginger. thats honestly why i started obsessing over her in the first place, because im a ginger as well and ive always felt a kind of joking solidarity with ginger characters (until it kinda… stopped being a joke uh oh). but throughout the series we learn bits and pieces about her, such as:
- she is never paired with a prince and in fact never expresses interest in boys, at the wish fish pond when everyone sees a picture of the boy they like, she sees nothing, which is attributed to a “foggy mind”
- she is described as “obtuse” and ends as the lowest-ranked student in the school for good, despite reena and beatrix trying to help her raise her grade
- her defining trait seems to be how much she cares about her friends (her yearbook quote is “sisters before misters” which is probably lighthearted but i think it’s telling)
and i know that these details were probably just thrown in randomly by soman, because he barely gives his main characters consistent characterization let alone his background characters. but to me all of these random pieces paint a really interesting picture.
millicent, in these ways, is the opposite of what a student at the school for good is expected to be. sure she’s conventionally pretty and cares about her appearance and seems to be just like everyone else, but there are also a lot of ways she’s different. she has no interest in princes and doesn’t develop an interest at any point in the series. she prioritizes sisterhood and friendship in an environment that is inherently competitive. and she fails all of the school’s lessons despite apparently working really hard to pass. i personally headcanon that she failed the snow ball because she didn’t find a date.
when you start dissecting everything we know about millicent, you get the sense that it’s not that she doesn’t belong in the school for good, it’s that the school for good is not structured to accommodate for her. we know that her problem is not her being lazy, because beatrix said she worked really hard to raise her grades, it’s just that in the end she couldn’t grasp the information. we know that her problem is not her being cowardly, because she ends up sacrificing her life in battle to save her peers, which is just about as brave as you can get.
and i think that this tells a really interesting story about a character who is not supported by their school system. the school for good is shown to be a place that is not very accepting of different types of people, as shown by how agatha is treated. but i think millicent is a much more subtle example of this. she failed school not because of her character but because of factors out of her control. and i think it can be up for fanon interpretation what these factors are. could this somehow be a commentary on the way real-life schools don’t accommodate for differences, mental physical social etc, among their students? im not sure soman intended it that way but it does add another layer to what we know about the schools in the books.
either way millicent means a lot to me because even though she doesn’t stand out as much as agatha, so much of her character exists in defiance to the person she is expected to be and, presumably, the person she was raised to be (as a princess). in the end, she sacrifices herself to save her friends, and we know her friends have been the most important part of her life this whole time. she does not sacrifice her sense of sisterhood at any point in the series, and although she struggles a lot, there’s something so heartwarming about her maintaining her values the whole time.
in conclusion millicent is a perfect character 2 me and i wantd to tell you why

animatic thumbnails:
i wasn't intending to make an animatic, but my ideas for the initial sketch started turning into smth larger. considered doing a short comic, but i felt like it would've end up being subpar quality
this is me when i see a post by habken on tumblr dot com
waow ty :3
If you ask me back then what I wouldve done with this AU? It's too Tagatha indulgent LMAOO
I would've kept the by gender tributes, with agatha competing and sophie staying at home (sophie being gale in this au).
And tagatha,, would've been pEAK star crossed lovers, agatha from district 12 and tedros being a career tribute, falling in love in the middle of the arena,, oouuhhh
I also had plans for sophie, somewhat,, i was thinking that sophie would be ambitious and delusional enough to volunteer and believe that she would win the games. Because she wanted the fame and glamour and riches of what victors received. So when agatha volunteered for her, reality sets in her that the games are dangerous and that she could've died.
But watching agatha in the games, watching her survive, fall in love, and win. It fuels sophie full of anger and jealousy- how dare agatha take this from her, to get the glory and the fame. It should've been sophie who went to the games, it should've been her in those interviews, parades, and parties with gorgeous dresses, fantastic food, and meeting new people.
Anyway back to tagatha, i think agatha was helping another younger tribute the same way katniss was taking care of rue, and tedros sees this, made him reevaluate agatha- and that's started their allyship in the games. Maybe it wasn't full-on romance, but their chemistry got the capitol hooked. Ouh then after the games, they see each other again during their campaign- but knowing that they would probably not see each other again after it. Ooouugghhh.
After all that yap, idk what else lmao. I don't know what to do with the revolution part.
Movie!SGE - Hunger Games AU
These are old sketches and comic wips from 2023(?). I really like agatha and sophie's personalities and relationship in the movie. I think it fits more with hunger games AU than book!sge.
While both book and movie agathas are protective of sophie, movie!agatha being outspoken about her beliefs and actively challenging the status quo makes me think that movie!agatha is more fitting as katniss.
As for sophie, while both ambitious and wants something more in their life, also a bit delusional too. Movie!sophie feels more like a normal teenage girl with dreams, while dealing with a new environment. A little more selfish and vain- but a healthy amount of fear for their life. Book!sophie is a lot more comical in terms of villainous attitude that it's a bit hard to imagine her in a survival game setting. (I know both sophies faced the trial by tale, i still prefer movie!sophie in hunger games AU)
If we disregard the by gender tributes in each district, Sophie and Agatha can both compete in the games, with agatha volunteering to stay with sophie.
I think Tedros could be a career tribute actually...
With all that said, I'm not sure how to go through with this AU, or how to end it. That's probably why i never posted it back then.
I would love to hear ideas with people, brainrot together LMAOO
Feels good to draw something stupid again

Ok I’ve decided I’ll stop screaming in my posts.
I trust everyone has done the reading 👀👀👀
Anyway! To spark the discussion, here’s three questions to start with! reblog or reply with the answer
What is the most iconic line in the first five chapters of TIT?
The best character in the first five chapters beside the trio (the one you find the funniest, the most intriguing one)
Rate the first five chapters on a scale from 1-10, either based on how the rest of the book compares or simply in general
Also, apologies, but I will be tagging everyone who interacted with the og post, if you don't wanna participate, just ignore this!

Hello Tumblr community!
This blog has been started to document and share fundraisers vetted by @nabulsi, @el-shab-hussein, and Moh'd Ayesh. We felt it would help to create a space dedicated to this documentation process.
The fundraisers we are vetting will be added to this page as well as included in our google sheet.
We will continue to reblog and share on our personal blogs, and that will not change, but this blog will help better organize these fundraisers.
Please spread this as we'd like to start using this primarily to share newly vetted fundraisers.
~ Thank you
a lot of people have been speaking out about soman’s horrible recent livestream, a lot of experiences shared, so I would like to propose one idea, to all of us, but especially to people who have stayed on his side. roll it over in your brain a bit.
intent doesn’t matter.
what soman meant to say, what he meant to get across in these books literally doesn’t matter. if you shoot someone, it doesn’t matter that it was an accident. they still got shot. you don’t sit by their side telling them to stop crying because you didn’t mean to shoot them. you take them to the damn hospital.
soman talks a big game about how we’ve “misinterpreted” the books. about how they’re “satire.” he tells himself that taking things too literally is OUR fault. he tells himself that his young fans are “smart” so that means he can project his entire adult life onto these books with no repercussions. he has the audacity to tell himself that he’s the victim, and we’re just trying to drag him down with baseless negativity. well, guess what? news flash, kids don’t understand satire. nor do they understand the concept of an unreliable narrator, for that matter. the average 8-11 year old will accept almost everything they read as truth. even IF they register that sophie is bad, or a “regina george type,” they still leave the book with the knowledge that people in this world worry about their weight, or stop eating so they can be skinny, or view fat people as liars/second class citizens. jesus christ, no child should have to think about that! no child should have to think about their body at all! every young person who reads these books leaves with a seed planted in their mind. every. single. one. do you know how many people I’ve talked to who felt like their insecurities mysteriously appeared when they started reading sge? people who had no outlet for the things these books made them feel, because members of this fandom are so afraid to talk about serious subjects? so, no, intent doesn’t matter. only your impact matters. and I cannot believe that soman is so full of himself he can’t even acknowledge the fact his actions have consequences.
if you actually care about someone, you care about the impact your actions have on them. in this live, soman said loud and clear that he does not care about this fandom. he does not care about any of us unless we stroke his ego. he does not care about our feelings, our opinions, our personal lives, our mental illnesses. he cares about how good we make him look and how much money we can earn him. he cares that we paint him in a positive light so he can keep getting movie deals and free promo. he sees us as a bunch of 12 year olds in honors english class whose attempts at free thought are futile and stupid. well, let me tell you something. we are smarter than he wants us to think. we are more compassionate, empathetic, and open to self growth than he’ll ever be. this, right here, this speaking out is the positive change he’s told us to band together and create. he will not silence us. we are right.
soman does not know what it’s like to be a teenage girl struggling with body image. his opinion carries absolutely no weight. we know what it’s like. we trusted him to understand us, and he let us down. we carry him on our shoulders. it’s time to let him go.
