Ngl i also thought agatha was lesbian,, :0000c
Note: All of these are from different people!
Okay, so I’ve personally never seen any gay characteristics in Agatha?? Does goth = gay ? Maybe it was because Agatha was bullied and outcasted?
please reblog with “gay” traits that Agatha apparently has because that went completely over my head
Also since when did Soman Chainani make award-winning gay pride films?? I NEED TO SEE THEM NOW.
And girl… I feel so bad for you. Wait till you find out they’re sisters.
I do kind of understand the criticism of fat-shaming? But it didn’t really stand out to me. Soman was probably trying to throw in some satire/commentary, I don’t know.
First of all:
Tedros raised some red flags but it was rounded out by TLEA anyway so it wasn’t a problem for me.
Second:
WHERE DO PEOPLE KEEP INTERPRETING AGATHA AS A LESBIAN??
W H E R E.
Seriously, I have no idea, someone enlighten me.
Third:
The whole point was that Agatha changes her mindset and accepts herself. I shouldn’t even need to explain this part.
LMAOOO Fantasy Mean Girls.
I think the “changing motivations” issue was with the Coven, because first they made fun of Sophie, then helped her win Tedros over, and at the end they were on Agatha’s side. I don’t exactly remember the reasons why, but it made sense to me because 1. they were just trying to get Sophie out of Evil and 2. they understood the bigger picture of defeating Sophie.
This is so funny because I’m imagining this guy ranting and spitting in my face. He is Extremely Pressed. The rest of his review was something about stereotypes and wrong messages and confusion of the plot.
There were a lot of other… opprobrium that I didn’t include just because they went on and on for so long. Here were the points I found interesting:
Sophie is stupid, annoying character and Agatha should’ve left her when she had the chance.
I can 100% see why many readers would hate Sophie. But she was my favorite character and still is!
Agatha did a 180 on her personality. There was no good reason for her to date Tedros when she hated boys for a majority of the book.
I think that whole “Agatha blushes and gets nervous around Tedros” scene was unnecessary. And her hypocrisy killed me the first time I read SGE, but I knew that was the lesson Soman was going for. I wish she kept her witchy side though, Agatha’s character is getting worse and worse with every book (in the Camelot Years).
Someone said that it rubbed them the wrong way when the wolf captured Sophie, undressed her, then clothed her again? Something like that?
Was it the Beast in the Doom Room (who was supposed to punish and humiliate her… god I see the implication). PLUS, Sophie described Stefan with a wolf mask?? That is very… uh. Are they thinking what I’m thinking? Not to mention that Hort, known simp, is a man-wolf. Jesus.
This is not appropriate for ages 8 and up.
I agree with this. I’m pretty sure Soman forgot that they were 12 years old, because picturing CHILDREN in romantic relationships is uncomfortable, especially when they’re acting AT LEAST 16. The amount of dark themes are pretty surprising, but I’d read much darker books before so I didn’t care. If Soman simply aged them up (and made it even darker, though that’s a personal preference) parents wouldn’t feel so misled and angry.
I'm sad and disappointed that nothing actually happened about the morgrifs. Book 1 made a point- made it such a big thing, and yet its just thrown aside. I'm also very disappointed that agatha stopped? like sis- please help them.

"Well, Agatha had an answer to that.."
Apparently I didn't posted these here. so here it is.

If you're ever worried about whether your writing is too self indulgent, I just want you to remember that Sharknado had 5 sequels. I'm only partway through watching Sharknado 6: It's About Time, but already they've traveled through time and ridden a pteronadon into a Sharknado so they could use the magic teleportation portal inside of it to travel forward in time to King Arthur's time, where they are currently battling a Sharknado full of fire-breathing dragon sharks with Excalibur, which is a chainsaw sword that calls lightning. You're fine. In fact, be a little more self indulgent if anything.
"This story is a tragedy because it didn't have to end this way."
vs
"This story is a tragedy because it was always going to end this way."
If you ask me back then what I wouldve done with this AU? It's too Tagatha indulgent LMAOO
I would've kept the by gender tributes, with agatha competing and sophie staying at home (sophie being gale in this au).
And tagatha,, would've been pEAK star crossed lovers, agatha from district 12 and tedros being a career tribute, falling in love in the middle of the arena,, oouuhhh
I also had plans for sophie, somewhat,, i was thinking that sophie would be ambitious and delusional enough to volunteer and believe that she would win the games. Because she wanted the fame and glamour and riches of what victors received. So when agatha volunteered for her, reality sets in her that the games are dangerous and that she could've died.
But watching agatha in the games, watching her survive, fall in love, and win. It fuels sophie full of anger and jealousy- how dare agatha take this from her, to get the glory and the fame. It should've been sophie who went to the games, it should've been her in those interviews, parades, and parties with gorgeous dresses, fantastic food, and meeting new people.
Anyway back to tagatha, i think agatha was helping another younger tribute the same way katniss was taking care of rue, and tedros sees this, made him reevaluate agatha- and that's started their allyship in the games. Maybe it wasn't full-on romance, but their chemistry got the capitol hooked. Ouh then after the games, they see each other again during their campaign- but knowing that they would probably not see each other again after it. Ooouugghhh.
After all that yap, idk what else lmao. I don't know what to do with the revolution part.
Movie!SGE - Hunger Games AU
These are old sketches and comic wips from 2023(?). I really like agatha and sophie's personalities and relationship in the movie. I think it fits more with hunger games AU than book!sge.
While both book and movie agathas are protective of sophie, movie!agatha being outspoken about her beliefs and actively challenging the status quo makes me think that movie!agatha is more fitting as katniss.
As for sophie, while both ambitious and wants something more in their life, also a bit delusional too. Movie!sophie feels more like a normal teenage girl with dreams, while dealing with a new environment. A little more selfish and vain- but a healthy amount of fear for their life. Book!sophie is a lot more comical in terms of villainous attitude that it's a bit hard to imagine her in a survival game setting. (I know both sophies faced the trial by tale, i still prefer movie!sophie in hunger games AU)
If we disregard the by gender tributes in each district, Sophie and Agatha can both compete in the games, with agatha volunteering to stay with sophie.
I think Tedros could be a career tribute actually...
With all that said, I'm not sure how to go through with this AU, or how to end it. That's probably why i never posted it back then.
I would love to hear ideas with people, brainrot together LMAOO
