Launching #FanartFortheCure – Pink Series on teepublic (Apologies in advance for the long post!)

So! As you may already know if you’ve been following me for a while, I now have a teepublic page (Creative Procrastination) where you can find most of my JC, Voyager and Prodigy fanart to get it printed on shirts, magnets, stickers, and more. I decided shortly after I set it up that my share of the earnings would go to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, as I do fanart because I love it. This is my way of paying all the love and support from you all forward.

With this in mind I’m super excited to announce that I’ve just added brand-new pink ribbon-themed Star Trek/Voyager-inspired designs for you all! 🖖 Some of the designs are directly related to the cause with pink ribbons 🎗️🩷, while others are more subtle and related in a way only you would know (the color pink and where you got it from!). As I post this I am literally 1$ short of 100$ in earnings (which actually blows my mind, THANK YOU!!) and I would love to reach that goal in time for my end-of-the-year donation later this month! All I want for Christmas this year! Spread the word! (In reality there’s no pressure though, there is no deadline to this fundraising – donating my earnings to the cause is a long-term commitment for me. I love the complexity of feelings in Resolutions. In my opinion, they were happy to return to the ship, because even if they were stranded with their Love of their Lives, they still need & want other human interactions e.g. with friends and family. (I think being condemned to see only one person for the rest of your life is a torture, even if you love that person). I interpreted their sadness at the end of the episode as being sad that they didn't have enough time to experience and build up their romantic relationship. Do you think it is reasonable to be sad not being stranded with only 1 person for the rest of your life?

Okay, so about six months ago I posted my first "Cartoon Voyager" for Resolutions. Since then I’ve had a lot of fun with these, learning and developing the style (and becoming more ambitious 🤪) as I went. So I couldn’t resist revisiting that very first strip and expanding on it, for no better reasons than 1) it makes my heart flutter to "paint" those oh-so-iconic JC scenes and 2) the idea of the Chakotay-loving-monkeys still cracks me up! 😆 I hope you enjoy both the revised scene and the new ones! ❤️

A quick note - obviously I took some artistic license with the animals here, including making Janeway's salamander cuter than the one they showed (oh, was this foreshadowing future events...? 🤔😬)! As for Chakotay's, we never did find out his, did we (we know it's not a bear 😉)? We saw a hawk/eagle in Tattoo, but I always thought it symbolized Chakotay's father or something more to that effect. So I decided to go with a marten for him for no other reason that they're cute, fierce and somehow seemed fitting (also it worked for this sketch 😉). I hope you'll forgive those small liberties!
