Hello Hi Yes Did Someone Say GM Chapter 20???
Infinite Scenes: Padmavatiās Jauhar
24 for the ask fanfic author thingy (btw I love your writing and you inspire me!)
Gah! Where do all you wonderful people come from?!
(jk i love you and thank you for that wonderful compliment. Though the fact that ANYONE is inspired by me is still awesomely baffling.)
But as far as your question goes...
24. favorite scene iāve ever written
Tbh, its a really close call between two scenes inĀ āGolden Madnessā for me
The first one being the part where Sifair (my OC and Keithās mom) says goodbye to Matt and Shiro in Chapter 5: Lick Your Wounds.Ā
Mainly barbecueĀ i feel that that scene, if nothing else, TRULY conveys the whole of Sifairās character. I character iāve spent so long rewriting and revising.Ā
The qualities she shows in that scene are the qualities that have stuck with her through her first iteration and to her present stage.Ā
Sheās a mom.
A mom whoās had a hard, bloodly life full of regrets and death. A mom whoās willing to go through all that again if it means protecting her kids. A mom who, at the same time, doesn't want to put her kids through what she had to go through. She just wants love and the someone to love.
That scene really captures that.
The second one would have to be a scene in Chapter 10: A Version of the Truth
The one where Alluraās telling the side of Lailaās story HER father told her, and, at the same time, Coran is telling the side of the Lailaās story that the ALTEAN PEOPLE were told.Ā
It was confusing to write.
But it was a risk i wanted to take. It was something that the plot ofĀ āGolden Madnessā hinged upon. The concept of POV and which narrative is the right one is something iāve always wanted to play with.Ā
This scene is really the culmination of those ideas.
After i posted that chapterĀ i got theory after theory in the comment section. And while comments and feedback are easily the best parts of writing, THEORIES are in a league all their own.Ā
They show that my work made people think.
That it made them reevaluate what they knew and present it in a way they wanted to see come to fruition. This scene allowed for theories to finally come into GM and iām so thankful it exists.
Once again, thank you for the ask! And i hope that answers your question. It was surprisingly difficult to try and pick one scene, so just had to pick two!
Thank you for your support, and the best of luck with your own writing! May you never be too afraid to take creative risks!Ā
Hey, I suck at writing any tips or tricks.
WHO TOLD YOU THAT LIE?!Ā
IāLL FITE EM!!! SWEAR ON ME MUM, IāLL FITE EM!!!!
Ok, but in all seriousness...
@januarycarnation youāre just starting out. No one is expecting perfection from you. Youāre taking chancesĀ and making mistakes, true.
But youāre also getting better.
So yeah, of course the first couple of drafts are going to be very good, but youāve already accomplished something that I took foreverĀ to accept.
You knowĀ how to take criticism.
You already know that when some one give you suggestions that theyāre not coming from a mean, hateful place. And BECAUSEĀ of that you can improve at at faster rate than i did.Ā So give yourself a pat on the back for that.
You deserveĀ it.
But as far as ACTUAL tips and tricks go, thereās usually three rules that i follow.
Donāt write every day - Granted this MAY NOT be the best advice for some people, but i find that writing everyday can REALLY burn you out to the point where you donāt ever want to do it again. So maybe pace yourself???Just get it out - Itāll probably be horrible, but if you writing out everything you WANT to have happen, you can always go back and fluff it up with all your descrpitions and feelings later. Ya gotta have a skeleton before you have a body.Ā Give yourself deadlines - Granted donāt give yourself WEEKLY deadlines (refer back to point one). But definitelyĀ maintainĀ a sense of responsibility. Not for you and not to say that youāre not responsible, but if your readers are taking the time to read, comment, and like your work they deserve updates at a reasonableĀ pace. At the same time, make sure that your audience knows just what sort of challenges that might delay the content they love. Iāve found everyone to be incredibly understanding and iām immenselyĀ thankful for all the support.
Hopefully that answers your question. Thank you for your ask and i hope i helped you in some way, shape, or form!
The best of wishes to you and your future work, i canāt wait to see how youāll grow as a writer!
