I'm new to sfh fandom, what fics should i read?? thanks :)

I’m always delighted to welcome new fans around here. I hope you’ve been having a good time so far!

To help with that, I made you a little list of fics. Since you didn’t specify any preferences (genres, characters, relationships, length, language, etc), I took the liberty to sort them out among my personal favorites. They are all in english, and most are published on AO3, but two are on Tumblr. I organized them in four categories: Post-Canon, Canon Divergence, AUs and Ongoing.

*There are more post-canon fics because that’s what’s most written about (everybody wants to know what happened to the main characters, after all). **The ongoing are suggestions in case you like to tag along as they are being written; I personally don’t like recommending stories that aren’t finished yet, since I can’t speak for all of it, but the ones I chose are really promising.

***Mind the tags and the authors' notes in all of these. Some may include themes you're not comfortable with (although nothing too absurd; I can't promise no murder or mental disorders, obviously, but they are all free of rape/non-con).

There are some stories (the more recent ones / some older that are long) that could probably have made the cut as well as these, but I have yet to get spare time to read. Nevertheless, this is a pretty good list for beginners. I tend to like the fics in which the characters are not (too) OOC, so you won't feel like there is a great distance between them and the original.

AU idea where Yi-kyung is part of the Korean royal family, and upon the untimely death of her parents, she is taken in by her child-less aunt, the Queen (who wants to make her crown-princess).

But behind the facade of the beloved, fashionable and cheerful princess, she has horrible anger issues and has killed enough people to know she likes the feel of it.

Kyung-yi is her bodyguard, who has to keep her from killing, but never able to go the public in fear of destroying the royal family's image, losing her job, her life and perhaps her loved ones.
